Vampiresbane reacted to UrQuan in Need help finding the most educational thread about crew and tank xp training
Could it be this one: Schmidty's (crew) XP guide ? It was made with help from the EU community & lots of testing to verify how it all worked (where the wiki & this guide differ, assume this guide is correct, during tests, it's been discovered the wiki isn't always correct in XP distributions & workings)

Vampiresbane got a reaction from MacusFlash in Mentor Skill increases other crew skills but not Commander?
Many people don't agree with me, but I'm going to quote my thoughts I previously posted on WoT forums about how to use Mentor effectively.

As far having Mentor as your 6th skill, that's just silly.  You're honestly better off with camo on a tank like the Maus then mentor at that point.

Vampiresbane got a reaction from Marver95 in WGNA up to Shenanigans again
I saw this earlier on the WoT forums.  I didn't see it recently so I assume the original post was removed so I added my own.  It's important consumer information for us all; help spread awareness.
    https://ritastatusreport.live/2017/09/08/wgna-refuses-to-honor-own-policy-now-with-extra-shadiness/
Incidentally, the policy in place is still listed as this: https://na.wargaming.net/support/kb/articles/560
If Cabbage is receiving direction from on-high, don't be surprised if the linked policy above is changed for contests.
I would view this an instance meeting either of the following qualifications:
gifted a Premium Tank that you already own  (A WG employee is technically gifting you a tank as a result of winning a contest; it's also how other players give out prizes for their own contests) -or- Winning a Premium Tank in a live event (Twitch stream, player gathering, social media, etc) Winners of said contest do not meet the qualifiers listed below for silver credit compensation:
On-Track Missions with a Premium Tank reward (not an On-Track mission) Events via any other mission (Daily Log-In, Month Long Missions) (not an in-game mission) You will still receive Credit compensation for bonus codes for Premium Tanks you already own (bonus code was never used) (Posting this in wotlab forum as well as WoT forums because, frankly, the WoT forums post will probably be pulled.)

Vampiresbane got a reaction from Ickus in For the Emperor!
I don't know if "sound decision" and Wargaming should be used in the same sentence or paragraph.  If they keep these WH tanks on Blitz, that's fine.  I dread the day anything of that ilk comes to WoT itself.  That'll be the final nail in the coffin for me.  That or when Camelot Unchained finally comes out.

Vampiresbane reacted to Marty in Thinking about using 2nd best gun on two tanks-Bat Chat 25 AP and T95
If you want BC AP with better flexibility, play 13 90. It gives you way more flexible clip, less delay between shots, better mobility and better camo(?).
90mm on batchat is flat out downgrade. Worse penetration, worse shell velocity, HEAT with worse penetration as premium ammo, lower alpha. Oh and worse gun handling with worse final accuracy. Alpha/penetration/gun handling are all important in the meta, while final accuracy and shell velocity are both nice things to have.
Sure, there might be a few situations where you could use having 13s faster reload. Issue is, 90% of the time you are going to miss everything you trade for that reload.

I saw 120mm being used on T95, mostly to shorten the grind to E3 when T95 was utter joke. I also saw it used as a meme gun. And I do not think it's competitive. I guess you might pull decent-ish results with it since T95 is faster than it used to be so you might be able to use the DPM more often. Also, the 297mm vs 320mm pen matters when firing at almost every T10 heavy. Looking at the list of T10 heavies, it'll give you higher chance to pen: 113's upper plate (if your shell goes high), E100's angled turret or highly angled LFP, IS-4's angled cheeks, IS-7 upper plate, Maus's angled turret or lower plate, Type 5 heavy almost anywhere, JPE100's superstructure, you can overmatch STRV's... lots of situations where even 23mm of pen might be useful to not get fucked by RNG.

Vampiresbane reacted to Ickus in For the Emperor!
When the Valkyria tanks came into the game I felt a lot of people bandwagoned into hating them because they were "fake animu tanks". I'm actually pleasently surprised by the fact that not even the ultra-masculine SPHESS MAHREENS are immune to criticism.

My stance doesn't change, though. Whether this is acceptable should be based on what WoT as a brand believes itself to be. If historicity is considered a priority, and time and effort is put into it, then fictional tanks should be categorically ignored. If it isn't, then there's no reason that they shouldn't be introduced. And while WoT might pride itself on using "historical data" and browsing through modern military history to authenticate game decisions, the mountain of made-up data that can be leveled against WG easily discredits them. And given the trend of playing progressively faster and looser with data, and the fact they okay'd anime tanks for PC, historicity is - at least internally - no longer considered a priority.

Because of that, why shouldn't they partner with IPs with popular tanks? Yes, a portion of the server population will hate it, but the Halloween tanks - the true precursors for this trend - must have been a success for them to consider these joint-ventures. Both parties win, and the server generates additional traffic. It's a sound decision.
