Hello WoTlabs media community! I've recently started a YouTube channel featuring WoT replays. I call it the Consortium Broadcasting Channel since it spotlights the Minion Consortium clans, including M--M, M-I-T, BAKED, and ROHAN. I enjoy the process of narrating games and watching players (often better than me) kick *** in Tanks. My early videos have been recorded using either the free version of Bandicam or using OBS. So far I have done all my "editing" in Windows Movie Maker, but I'm running into some problems with this setup. My video quality is not very good (as you can see from the few videos I have up, excluding the Bandicam one, Batchat in HD). Bandicam spits out a crisp image but has a 10-minute limit (which can be a pain to work around for replays longer than 10 min) and in the process makes gigantic files. OBS, on the other hand, feels a lot more user-friendly but puts out a pretty poor image, even in 1080p. I'm running this channel from a laptop (College life yo) and with zero funds for buying recording/editing software (College life again). My computer is the HP Envy x360 series with an intel i7 and 8gb RAM. I've asked around the Consortium but I thought I would open this discussion to a larger community in WoTlabs. 1. Can I increase the quality of my recordings on OBS? I've fiddled around with the settings and pretty much everything is on max but the YouTube results speak for themselves... I looked on the OBS forums but I'm not sure if my computer can handle the settings they suggest. 2. Would changing editing software/OBS file formats help with the above problem? As of now I have OBS converting to .MP4 files, but the default is .FLV (which Windows Movie Maker doesn't support). I've heard Lightworks thrown out there as an option. 3. What other options do I have in the recording software department that is free and high-quality? I like Bandicam for the image quality and OBS for the ease of use and the lack of a time limit. Finding a happy-medium between these two would be nice. Thank you for any feedback and advice. I'm new to all this YouTube stuff and have a pretty limited scope of knowledge. I don't expect this channel to be big but I'd like to put out the best product I can. -Favre
