  2. A thought just occurred to me regarding the current state of the game, and what it means for the Chieftain (if and when it is introduced to the game). Players have been clamoring for this thing ever since the British tanks were introduced, but perplexingly with the tier 10 having some experimental and non-existent prototypes, the FV215b and the FV4202. They replaced the FV4202 with the excellent Centurion Action X, but the FV215b remains. Now, the FV215b I'm sure has its utility and fans, and it does fit the role it was introduced in as a support heavy tank, reliant more on its firepower than its protection (though I believe it did receive some buffs in the latter department many patches ago) But with the recent over buffs to some of the super heavy tanks such as the Maus and Type 5, and more new super heavy tanks that share the WG trend of having little to no frontal weak spots, and the Swedish S tanks that can auto-ricochet 120mm caliber guns from the front, the FV215b has remained largely unchanged. Which brings me back to the Chieftain. If they keep the FV215b and introduce the Chieftain in a new British heavy tank branch, what role is it supposed to play? Will it just be another support heavy tank like the FV215b? Or will it be a heavy medium tank, better suited to roll along with the medium tanks (assuming it has the mobility to do so). With the proliferation of HEAT, it would be nice to get the Chieftain with the Stillbrew armor (perhaps as an elite/upgraded turret?), in order to improve its frontal turret armor protection and remain competitive. The only recent changes that I'd considered an upside to introducing the Chieftain now would be the arty changes, since prior to that the Chieftain would get rekt by a CGC etc with WG's massive hard-on for more super heavy tanks, I don't feel any enthusiasm for them to bring in the Chieftain. It'd probably end up getting stomped on by, what should be obsolete by-comparison, the Maus.
  3. what are the best positions for high tier mediums? i often feel like i get killed in my tier 10 meds because im not in the right spot at the right time.
  4. „WG is planning a Chieftain tech tree branch. They also plan other lines too, but let’s talk about this one for now. The Chieftain line will likely split from the Valentine, with most probable tanks to be in it being the A38 Valiant, AT-1, and the Heavy Valiant. The Chieftain will top it off as the tier 10. They were planning it since the last year’s summer or even earlier, I don’t recall that far. The line is still a prototype so it can always change its structure. In the last few months, WG changed the classification of the Chieftain from Heavy to Medium a couple of times, but right now, the Chieftain is a Heavy. The line is somewhat urgent – ETA late 2017/early 2018. A Brit scout line is also in the works.” TAP link
  5. Any possible chance the Chieftain Mk6 will be introduced within 2017? Maybe like when they brought in the CAX late 2015. otherwise i feel kinda silly hanging on to the 200k EXP i have at the ready in the Conqueror when i should have already researched and acquired the FV215b.
  6. Just something I did for fun, from a fun match from a previous patch.
  7. So recently, I have been playing tier 10 more and more in my Grille 15. After switching back and forth between tiers 6-9, it appears to me that tiers 9 and 10 are where it is "at", especially 10. I am comfortable in my T-10, but find that I love that Grille 15 at top tier, and tier 10 in general for the following reasons: 1.) Team quality has gotten bad, at least at tier 10, I am top dog - so to speak. 2.) Generally (I say this loosely), tier 10 teams are better. 3.) I can't carry, not good enough, especially when I am tasked to save a failing team when I am two tiers down. At tier 10, at least I have some firepower to work with. As you can see my stats have taken a hit, WR is down, and my recent WN8 is down as the Grille has a pretty high bar (for me) for expected damage. Still, I really enjoy running at tier 10, and if I get a decent team, and my decision process is up to snuff, I find I enjoy it more. Am I just committing stat suicide? Does it really matter? Will working at higher tiers make me a better player (my belief at this point.)?

We Play Tanks [WPT] is a new clan, based around two core principles, Teamwork, and Dedication. To us, it is more important that our players work well together than anything else. We are looking to become a clan wars ready team as well as a strong player in tournaments and other competitions. We hope to recruit people with at least 2 tier 10s, and 1000 wn8 overall, however we require a recent wn8 rating at about 1400-1500, however if they are not met, we still encourage you to contact us. if you are interested, please contact me via the forum as a reply, or in game to TheFIlthyCapitalist. We hope to see you in our ranks!
  9. BUNEH- Best Unit Nobody Ever Heard of Guess who’s back…. Back again…. Guess who’s back…Tell a friend…. Buneh is back and recruiting for T10 end game CW’s. Buneh has been around the competitive scene for a few years. We were BUNEH back in the early days of Petco, then we changed to BUNNY when we grew up and made our presence known on the CW (1.0 map). As BUNNY we placed top 15 in the IS5 campaign and got everyone who participated in the event the tank with 15 of us receiving the special edition version. BUNNY then closed shop and merged with portions of PBKAC prior to the start of the 4th campaign and once again did fairly well and placed high enough (top 15 once again) to get everyone involved in fighting their choice of T10 reward tank. Now its time to rebuild BUNNY as some of us never quite forgot the friends that we bade in BUNNY and how things were done. Therefore, a few of us have gotten together to bring that experience and comradery back. Unfortunately, we were not able to get the BUNNY tag back and instead are bringing back the old school BUNEH tag. So without further ado…… What We Want: - 1600+ WN8 Overall - 2100 WN8 30/60 Day - 500+ Battles last 30/60 Days - 4 Clan Wars Preferred Tier 10's - Be mature enough to know when it's OK to be completely immature - Be available for Clan Wars 4+ nights a week - Have a working mic and have the ability to use it - Have a fully working TS3 client - 18+ Come into our ts if you have any questions. NewportReb Silvers_ MarkyMarkThePrincess Georgetheprincess ts.petcogaming.com What You Get: We have good Buneh's We have bad Buneh's We have Emo Buneh's Anime buneh's Killer buneh's We even have the normal cute and fluffy buneh's We have every Buneh you could want. 12. Hey guys at Wotlabs. I've just gotten the IS-7 yesterday, and I have to say, it's not been fun to play. Why, you may ask? People enjoy saying, "IS-7 armor is so ez to use just point it foward", but that almost never works out? Why? Magnetic lower plate weakpoint. Seriously, out of all of my attempts to keep this thing covered, people still can see and pen it. When I do get into a perfect positions, turns out none of the enemies decide to go where I am. Any tips to use IS-7? Is it a tank I just suck at and should give up on? P.S. I feel like I contribute more in the IS-8 Example replay: http://wotreplays.com/site/1747174?secret=00663516723d16b5339f346b848ca1ff
  13. So i want to fill up my platoon spam list with some of you skrebs from EU. <3 If you are at the kinda same skill level as i am (that means being a total idiot) then feel free to post something in this thread. You can expect me to invite you at any given time. Sadly i do not own a mic right now because i broke my old one, because i am a fat turd, so i hope thats not a big problem. Jeeez Con
  14. So, I have the T37 right now. I have 1 1/2 crew skills and feel really confident in the T37. I'm wondering when I should go to the M41 Bulldoge. I'm really scared because this would be my first tank that has seen tier 10. I don't have free xp for anything because I just suffered through the Tiger 1. What do our great thinkers of WoTLabs think would be a good time to ascend to tier 10?p
  15. Let me know how I did. Would love some feed back. http://replays.quickybaby.com/result.php?id=16986#personal

  17. Sold at least a half a dozen tanks in order to buy it, I was not disappointed. http://wotreplays.com/site/1132193#tundra-flaksmith-t110e5
  18. I'm interested to know what tier 10s everyone is currently grinding for and why. There has been a lot of discussion about the best 10s lately and I would like to see which tanks are still being ground out. I would also be interested to know what tier 10s you've kept in your garage if you want to add that too. My own current tier 10 grinds: T-62A and Obj. 140 from the T-54 T57 from the T69, too slowly Obj. 268 from Obj. 704, on hiatus because I'm bad at TDs E-100 from the VK 3601H, stalling until Tiger buff Foch 155 from the AC MLE. 1946, halted for now
  19. http://ftr.wot-news.com/2014/07/30/british-tanks-final-decision/ Pretty much confirmed the new 10 would be the Action Cent X And the Tier 10 British heavy tank will be the Chieftain Mk.2. Discussirino. (sorry if this was already posted. delete if duplicate. move if in wrong place.) Edited in my opinion: It seems like a good change, buff to turret armour while keeping the 105. The main problem with the 4202 seemed to be its lack of turret armour compared to its lower tiered companions so its nice to see they fixed that.
  20. As you probably know, I've been with the hopes of getting better at it. I think it's working, but it's a hell of a slog. How did you see the most improvement in tier 10 play and how would you recommend improving at tier 10? If I've left out any options, please let me know and I'll add them.
  21. If the title was not clear, I am asking what is the playstyle of the T54E1 in a primary tier 10(both sides having 10 tier 10s) game being bottom tier. I do understand passive support, but how far back? Second line following the heavys or third line sniper?
  22. Since this was kinda off-topic in the `best tier 8 tanks` topic, a repost, with the same numbers: TL:DR: on EU server 60% of the tier 10 tanks are heavys Some seem to think i made these numbers myself (since they are totally different from vbaddict / noobmeter) This is however not true, they are just ripped from wot-news... and this is how i got them (its this simple...) 1: I copied the overall tank stats list from wot-news to excel, 2: I removed all tiers below tier 8, 3: I summarized all heavys, mediums and TDs, 4: I took the % of all 3 classes and compared it the total amount of games played, 5: this gives the following numbers: Tier 8,9 & 10 combined: 58,30% - Heavy 24,88% - MT 16,82% - TD If i only look at tier 10 numbers: 60,60% - heavy 22,26% - MT 17,15% - TD These numbers are from about 5 months ago. Speculation start: Since the most popular TD line, the WTF line is not included in this, i guess / assume that the % of heavys has dropped a little (i guess) while TDs rose some, but thats speculation Speculation end These are real numbers, not some fantasy, you can do the very same calculation yourself, go to wotnews and past in excel... I can understand that my post was off-topic, so it got removed for that reason, but saying my numbers are made up is simply not true, this are facts... If you cant stand the idea that there are 3x more heavys as meds, and that heavys thus dominate, its not my problem... The problem behind this (and WN8) is that you put way, way too much faith in those silly vb-addict numbers**, they represent only a tiny fraction, a drop in the vast ocean of stupid, totaly irrelevant, and this gets only worse since its cherrypicked data... since only a special group of people uploads to vbaddict, not the average user... Same noobmeter stats are useless for comparing tank stats... (noobmeter is `better` in the sense that baddies are also represented, i often look up idiots to see how idiot they really are, so these people are represented, but not in the right proportion) If you now all think these numbers are so wrong, please proof it to me, and not with vbaddict... ps: an EU user, Snib, used to create monthly stats topics, containing ALL player data, these where extremly reliable, and were the best (up-to-date) data regarding popularity and many other things, Snib stopped with those topics though These numbers however also showed how incredible massive wot is... (atm on EU with 200k users online at same time, the amount of weekly active users is over 1 million i guess...) http://forum.worldoftanks.eu/index.php?/topic/65256-unofficial-eu-server-statistics/ (ps, the numbers from end 2012 show the same distribution for heavy / meds / tds, quite amazing it changes so little overtime...) tier 10 56.18% Heavy tier 10 27.23% MT tier 10 16.58% TD (so even during the arty madness, heavys still dominated numbers wise, go guess what happened when SPG`s got nerfed, and the TD madness started...)
  23. What do you purples think is the ceiling for W/R at T10 when you exclusively solopub? You can of course list W/Rs for different tanks (e.g. extreme example: solopubbing W/R for WTE100 > any arty) I know some of you have already done some crazy challenges but is there any agreement on the highest possible W/R at T10?
  24. Something occurred to me last night as I was playing a solo game in my E-50 (that currently doesn't have 6th sense on it as I moved the crew up to the E-50m and started a fresh 100% crew), is that I play tanks that don't have 6th sense much more cautiously than tanks that do have 6th sense, but I'm still getting just as much DPG and am often playing just as aggressive. I've thought about it a little more and realized that part of it may be that I rely on sixth sense too often and use it as a crutch to tell me when I'm spotted, whereas on tanks that don't have sixth I just assume throughout the entire battle that I am spotted. When I am spotted I'm more inclined to instinctively use hard cover, abuse terrain, shoot and scoot, etc. Whereas if I'm relying on 6th sense I may be more inclined to linger in one location too long or hide in the back and snipe. At lower tiers you can usually get away with being spotted and then trying to get unspotted or find cover. When you are facing Tier 10 tanks, especially high alpha TDs and arty you really can't afford to be spotted and resting on your laurels for 2 seconds until your 6th sense icon flashes on your screen. 2 seconds is long enough for a pre-aimed arty or 183 to one shot you. 2 seconds is more than enough time for a Waffen E-100 to track you and clip you out. 2 seconds is more than enough time for a pack of mediums who happened to be aimed in your general direction to focus fire you down to being utterly crippled if not dead. On the other hand, it seems to me, that if you just assume you are lit all the time and position yourself and act accordingly you'll survive much longer and have a more pronounced influence on the game. Now, I'm certainly not saying that it's a bad idea to have 6th sense on your tanks. Nothing could be further from the truth. 6th sense is absolutely critical for those instances where you can't get any hard cover or take a position with great terrain that is advantageous to your tank. 6th sense is also critical for determining where unspotted enemies may be located. You can do this by finding a piece of hard cover where you think a tank might be. You then poke out of cover very quickly and then immediately withdraw back into cover and wait 3 seconds to see if your 6th sense went off. Through experience and map knowledge you can generally use this technique to narrow down the possibilities of where remaining enemy tanks may be hiding. What I'm trying to say and open for discussion is the concept that many people who play OK at Tier 8 and below yet struggle in Tier 10 may be leaning on their 6th sense crutch too much, myself included. For shits and giggles here's a replay of me playing my E-50 without 6th sense in a battle tier 9 game where I don't sit in the back and hide, but rather take a forward position and contribute to the win despite realizing that I'm probably lit for majority of the game: So I guess TL;DR the question is, how much do you rely on 6th sense in the top tiers of play?
  25. I have noticed, skill wise, I am quite a bit ahead of most of the people I end up platooning with at the moment. Thus, i'm looking to try playing with people around my skill level some. Mainly playing t10, since I just bought a T57 after having sold my is-7 when I decided I wanted to become a better player, so I am getting comfortable with carrying in t10 meta still somewhat. I am looking for enjoyable people to platoon with, if you excessively complain, rage, and are not pleasant to be around, probably don't want to waste both our time. Let me know if you are interested!
