I searched and didn't find any threads on her. IMO this tank is a secret gem only thing that really ruins the tank is arty and people spamming gold ammo. The tank is very cheap to run as a tier X and can be a sniper or get in close to brawl. You really have to be careful against taller tanks cause they can shoot right into the open top. Other than that never show or side or you will get racked :P

I honestly think it's the best tank in the game. Whenever I get a sheriff account it's the only thing I play.

One night in CW a couple of guys brought them in for lols in a throw away game and did almost 10k combined kemping bushs on Prok.  The caller could not call over those two constantly giggling.  Its a shame its such a shitty grind.

Question: How does Prem Ammo ruin it? Like, its LFP would be penned anyway, its mantle would be penned anyway as well. Upper front and super structure are stupidly strong. Has always seemed to me that regardless of what ammo is fired at it, you'll still need to hit the same weak-spots to deal damage to it regardless of ammo chosen and would still damage it regardless of ammo chosen.

Mantlet is 250mm absolute and is ~260 faced straight on, it is not autopen for most AP. Upper structure is ~330 so prem has chance of penning it, and many TD gold rounds can shit through.
Both of these lead to "pressing 2 2"

I love how this tank looks, I like the idea/concept of how it should be played and it sometimes works but it fails most of the time and you cant rely on it. If E5 can have that godlike armor I dont see why obj 263's mantlet cant be HEAT-proof.  That would fix the tank (or maybe make it OP) IMO

My biggest gripe with people using heat was they didn't bother to learn the weakspots of the tank. Usually I would get in a good location to hide my LFP and people really couldn't do anything depending on the tank they played. 263's are still a quite rare and it's funny to see how some players go about trying to damage your tank. It's a unique tank and I really enjoy player her, but yeah the grind isn't that fun. I must have failed hard when searching I tried multiple entries and got nothing :/

AR-15 nice game the pool's medal has eluded me my entire WOT career along with Kolobanov's I always choke.

not many pubbies have/play the 263, because it's not as easy mode as the E5..

making the mantlet heat-proof would just resut in a lot of "OMG PLZ NERF, ARMOUR TOO STRONG", while they don't know how shitty is the side/rear armour

Problem with 263 is that its seal clubbing tank. Against weak players it shines but then you meet decent medium tank players who know to spam tracking shoots or gold on gun shield and suddenly it feels nothing special.

It is simply a god awful piece of junk to solopub with. It's decent in platoon play, but only decent; not great; due to restrictions of the corridor meta.

It is very good at long range engagements, with good accuracy, shell velocity, and dpm; except for being too blind to spot your own targets effectively. While the base view range is not that bad; it cannot use vents; cannot run food safely; and have the commander being radioman. This results in much much lower practical view range when compared to a TD like JPE-100. It is also poorly compatible with binocs due to the extremely narrow gun arc, awful traverse bloom, and high rate of fire. Platooning fixes the blindness problems, but it is something you can't really solve when solopubbing.

It is great at mid range engagements if there are terrain that allows you to cover the LFP, and a lack of HE shooting vehicles like arty/183s/tomatoe E-100s. Wiggling can protect your gun shield to a degree when the stars align.. but not your LFP, you need hard cover to protect that. Having HE thrown at you pretty much f you over.

It is plainly awful at close range engagements unless your opponents are zombies. With frontal transmission and engine, getting shot in the LFP will frequently damage or break the engine; much more so than vehicles with just front transmissions (like E-100). Your gun shield is too large a target to protect through wiggling at this distance; you will lose your gunner and/or loader repeatedly.

The poor side armor, narrow gun arc, and rear mounted gun, and low alpha/high RoF makes minimizing exposure an absolute nightmare at close range brawls. The 263 need to rely on armor at close ranges; which only functions against bad players who do not shoot HE. Good players will simply shoot your weakspots (and cripple you as a bonus), while HE shooting potatoes will wreck you anyways with the horrific module damage.

The corridor meta and HE vulnerability severely restricts the effectiveness of the 263 on most maps; rendering it just an awful as a solopub vehicle. In terms of platoon play, it is pretty sorely outclassed by the Grille 15 in most situations.

--------------

Regarding food:

The 263 is prone to getting set on fire due to the front engine and exposed, HE vulnerable engine deck (loaded with fuel in addition to the engine). AFE is really necessary even with maxed firefighting. I caught more double fires in the 263 than any other vehicle I played... I probably catch double fires in the 263 more often than pre-transmission module E-100 single fires.

Repair kit is absolutely mandatory. Unless you chai snipe all game, you will loose your gun and/or engine; oftentimes both, multiple times per battle. Armorer skill helps a long way for your gun, but you really want that repair kit for your poor engine.

Med kit is also sorely needed. Your gunner dies so often, that when combined with a damaged gun, will result in far too much accuracy penalties, even with JoT and Armorer. Loader also dies rather frequently, often together with the gunner if you eat a HE shell in the gun shield.

I tried really hard to fit food, but I just couldn't; the 263 simply need all 3 regular consumables to be functional in a corridor.

-------------

PS: Sheriff account would give a much different view of the vehicle. Unlimited commander skills solves quite a few shortcomings; regular players won't have a 7 - 8 skill crew for that. Sheriff vehicles also cause players to play differently. You get far more idiotic suicide yolos and rushed shots from ppl who desperately wan that 250 free gold; significantly increasing the effectiveness of your armor and offering you more targets to shoot at.

I love it to bits, but the thing feels cursed. Big as a bus, arties favourite target and highly specialised in the wrong kind of meta.

That said, its pretty sweet if you can find a firing lane and a bush/hard cover for the LFP. Also goes well as a dedicated camo sniper for CWs or whatever (although the Grille has probably powercreeped it for that).

Nah camo sniping is pretty much the only niche left for the 263. Grille cannot camo snipe, as it has no camo to speak of; being IS-7 level before firing, WTE-100 level after firing. Grille is, however, much better at chai sniping beyound spotting range.
