LEGGA GOING FULL CRAZY: 3 marking EVERY JP heavy - challenge

45 posts in this topic

I did mention the camo on my last sentence.

But yeah, while Jap heavies are known for having worst camo values in the game, O-Ni's camo is so bad that it makes even camo of other Jap heavies look good. 0,06 camo when stationary OP

O-Ni's camo is so bad you get spotted by your clanmates in the next platoon channel.

O-Ni 3 marks soon done. Im somewhere between 92% and 94% (too afraid to check because i get easily pressured from hype of getting 3 marks if i see certain number).

Type 5 Heavy has been already set up:

- large rep/large med/onigiri

- 35 gold/15 regular/15 HE

- rammer/vstabs/vents

I didnt go for optics because i already get 460 metres view range with vents, which is enough imo. I want to have as good gun handling and reload as possible, so snapshotting works better.

Type 5 Heavy 3 marks will begin later, though. First need to focus on O-Ni and G1 R 3 marks. I also will get 2-3 mil credits preloaded so i can afford the taip faiv hevi.

What setup do you plan for the OI? Does the post nerf O-I still feature ridiculous view range for it's trier so you get way more spotting damage than you should?

btw. I hated the O-HO after the Oni and pre nerf OI. The gun dep killed it but also at higher trier you are easier to pen. Oni might have worse armor layout but it meets more guns with very bad pen. At t8 and higher a high roll from any non prem heavy and you are penned.

Rammer/Optics/Vents with food. I would go for GLD instead of vents but fuck that reload.

Type 91 & 95 3 mark when? :kappa:

If they would be markable, then sure. :serb:

---------------

Im not sure if i have given up or not. O-I gave me aids and i sold it (5th time now). I will re-try O-Ni in future, because i got pretty close. Type 5 Heavy should be actually possible if i just happen to get very lucky streak.

Jap Tiger is current focus, will try to 3 mark type 5

Isn't the O-I the high-point of that line?

Not really, O-I Exp is by far best tank in the line for good players. The O-I might be high-point for sub 800 WN8 payers, but its definely not high point for me and if anything, its actually probably one of my least favorite tanks in the line.

I hate it, it has too low HP pool compared to high tier Japs. T-150 can 3 shot O-I with good rolls, while IS-3 never can 4 shot O-Ho. It has too long reload, IMO. KV-2's reload DOES make difference, not to mention its HE pen means that it gets notably more HE pens, which really helps it. AP/HEAT is so RNG that it makes me feel like im playing HEAT M44. Derp is imo only option though, the 10cm is even worse. 1500 base DPM is just absolutely terrible, especially for something as slow. Not to mention it also has trash gun handling + accuracy to make it even worse.

O-I is not terrible at all; its still broken (not OP imo; its OP only for terrible - average players). While its cancer to play agains, its also cancer to play. Super inconstinent and RNG based. So essentially, its actually comparable to arty, just in different form. Atleast it cant sit on A1 and shoot over cover, so its still not as bad as arty.

This sums O-I so good.

But Legga, how do you feel about O-I Exp after the nerf? With rather bad armor (but far from useless, at least against tier 4- better than 30-01 at least), the tank relied on mobility (dat ramming) and alpha to dominate.

How does it feel in randoms, solo.

P.S. what gun did you use? I suppose 10 cm, but on picture you had 12 cm.

If i remember correctly, 12 cm had better reload pre-nerf? Didi that changed, now tanks.gg says it fires 0.5 sec slower than 10 cm?

I do not think it is a viable gun (played it like 10 games, with great results for a stock gun, but 10 cm is a big improvement), but what is your opinion?

I am considering re-buying it, but I sold it before nerf (my stupid clan needed some O-Is, and i had it unlocked.

Can it carry battles any more?

Ofc i used 10cm, there is and never was any reason to use it. I just got asked to show what 3 marks looks like on that gun so thats why i took the picture.

-------------------

Its still overpowered. Nerfs were imo pathetic and didnt hurt the tank at all. All they did was that they nerfed traverse speed and gun handling. So effectively they just nerfed one of its roles it could do (pseudo-medium).

The main trick of the tank is 300 alpha + 700 health. This tank is among best tanks in the game when it comes to trading. It can outtrade any other tier 5 tank without efforts, but also outtrade tier 6 mediums, and even some tier 6 TDs. Even tier 7 (mediums) has to take this thing seriously, because it can still chuck half or more of their HP before it dies.

By just purely trading your HP to single targets you can do 1000 dmg easily. Even better is if you can surprise attack your opponent. The tank is fast enough to flank and it still can play like psuedo-medium. Getting into side and doing 300 can really change the pace.

10 degree depression + actually small-ish turret is also helpful. Hulldown always when you can, because you can partially remove the tank's only true flaw, weakish and huge hull. Try to invest as much u can to view range, because you can actually spot stuff effectively.

Never expose yourself too much. Never. If you expose yourself to multiple enemies, you are going to die fast. Always pick lone targets. You can win pretty much every tier 5 tank in 1 v 1.

Its best tier 5 for carrying, imo. It might not carry as well as T67 or KV-220-2 favorable maps, but its very strong on almost every map (expect prohk/malinovka with lots of arties). Even on open maps its view range is helpful.

As for platoon/solo, it works well on both. If you want to mark it, AVOID platoons (especially multiple O-I Exp platoons) at all costs, since it does so much damage on its own that if you platoon your DPG very likely goes down. O-I Exp platoons is among top ways to pad VR in the game, though (to put it on perspective, my friend and i have both super unicum winrate on O-I Exp after ~1000 battles, as we have platooned most of those battles together. I have 2100 recent wn8 and he has below 1600, so go figure...).

And ofc, ram when you got chance, because from downhill its best rammer no doubt tier for tier (when you factor HP of it's own tiered tanks compared to ram damage it totally shits on even KV-5 or E-50M). It can kill tier 6 mediums and tier 7 TDs (my friend killed 100% HP E-25 by ramming) from full HP. Dont get too greedy with rams though and often when you ram you are most likely dead (it takes quite alot damage from rams because poor armor; ramming a KV-1 from full HP can cut 300 HP from O-I Exp). Use it as literal last effort kamikaze attack.

O-Ho is more fun to play (for me), but O-I Exp is easily strongest tank in the line, is still and has always been since day 1 Jap heavies come.

This challenge is no longer dead - with derp gun addition for Type 4 and Type 5, aswell as APCR buff for HT No VI making it more usable in T8 matchup and thus 3 marking is not completely reliant on top tier matches, i am good to announce that this challenge has been reawakened! :)

I will attempt to 3 mark the mighty Type 5 Heavy right after the patch hits the live server.

After i 3 mark every jap heavy in the game, expect a mega review of entire line to come. Something even bigger than the one i did earlier - there i will talk alot about each tank. I will probably do it even if i dont manage to 3 mark it, but i first have to play buffed Types and HT No VI, aswell i would like to buy O-I back (one more time lmao) before writing it.
