Intel Core i7 3770k (I'm a try-hard)

8 GB Corsair Vengeance RAM

Asus P8Z77-V Pro Motherboard

Dell Inspiron 15R SE

i5 3230M

6GB DDR3 RAM

1080p screen

AMD Radeon HD 7730M 2GB

On the pic, using Internet Explorer for the only thing it's good for.

RULE FOR POSTING PHOTOS:

Must take a picture of the screen showing the rig of the previous poster. Rig tunnel!

Eh, nevermind.

We should have gold awards for the best and worst systems. That way I might finally get a tier 8 premium for having the worst lol.

Posted new rule up above. Photos must contain the screen with the rig of the previous poster visible. Let's make a tunnel!

meanwhile, are Xeons for even richer tryhards? ;):P

I'll just repost the post I just made on the WoWP forums.

My whole setup:

dsc0920jk.jpg

There are four (!) systems shown in this picture:

System 1:

dsc0921p.jpg

My primary system right now.  Specs:

EVGA SR-2 Classified (:P)
2x Xeon X5570 @ 3.5 ghz (They are Extra Spicy ( wink.gif  Smile_hiding.gif ), and currently "loaned" to me for free :)
2x Cooler Master V6GT CPU coolers (brackets modified to fit the SR-2,  annoying EVGA put them in a preproduction demo system so I thought they were fine, but oh well.)
24GB RAM (12 GB per proc, 6x4GB total)
EVGA GTX 670 main GPU
EVGA GTX 460 secondary, runs [email protected]
Samsung 830 series 240GB SSD OS drive
Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB for storage
some random CD drive
Corsair AX750 750w + PCP&C Silencer 500w PSU's
Dell 2408WFPb
Custom Knex case designed by me with salvaged fans.

Controls:
Logitech M510 mouse
Saitek X52
some old Dell keyboard
Turtle Beach X12 headset.
Some old Dell 5.1 speaker set (actually very good).

System 2 (under the desk), my old rig and currently runs [email protected]:
Core i7 920 @3.5 ghz
Asus Rampage II Extreme
Zalman CNPS9700NT (the green one)
6 GB ram
EVGA GTX 460
Corsair 850TX
WD Velociraptor 300GB (OS)
WD Caviar Green 500GB (Storage)
Some random CD drive.
Thermaltake Spedo

No good picture of it.

System 3:

dsc0922w.jpg

My Alienware M11x R2 for mobile gaming.

Core i7 640um @ 150 fsb (can hit 2.6 ghz in turbo mode.  not bad for a chip rated for 1.2 ghz)
4 GB ram
GT335m
OCZ Agility 3 240GB SSD.
Modified by pulling the plastic cover off the screen.  idiot dell takes a glossy screen and puts it behind glossy plastic, resulting in double reflection.  the electrical tape keeps it looking decent.

System 4 is an old HP laptop sitting under a pile of papers on top of the sub next to the storage cabinet.  It's so old that the processor doesn't have a model number, just "1.6 ghz pentium M".  suprisingly the mobility radeon 9600 w/ 32 MB(!) of VRAM can run aero in windows 7.

Lastly, my tanking/flying/soon-to-be-sailing companion:

dsc0923u.jpg

My cat.  another picture of her can be seen in my avatar.

Now for some odities on my desk:
Ionic Breeze Quadra - try to collect some dust, but there's so much it still collects everywhere.
Some model tanks on the printer - M4 sherman missing pieces, M48 Patton.  soon to be joined by a Merkava IV and some SPG which are under construction.
Random bowl of screws -every computer builder has one.
Duct Tape -nuff said.

Nerf gun- because.

Lazy, skipping the tunnel in favor of an older pic.

I was once proud of my specs, but that whole age thing crept in...

EVGA E758-A1 3-Way SLI (x16/x16/x8) LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard
Intel Core i7-920 Bloomfield 2.66GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor BX80601920
GeForce GTX 285 Black Edition 1GB 512-bit
Vigor Monsoon III LT Dual 120mm Fan CPU Cooler
CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin PC3 12800 Triple Channel
Added in another 12GB this year.

Does the i7 still make me a tryhard? It was the only i series processor on the market when I built this...

Since Tedster broke the rules

It was enough trouble uploading those to imageshack.  Took those yesterday, didn't feel like taking new ones.  getting those compressed but still looking decent was a problem.

Struggling to understand why everyone wants i7's.  Unless you're shooting for benches or doing something massively multi threaded there is just no point.

My workstation:

2zof34k.jpg

19" Acer screen, 1366x768

2.1 Logitech speaker system

Noname webcam

'Speedlink' keyboard

Cheap-ass Logitech maus

The 'gaming rig':

9qigly.jpg

Old cobbled together rig made from spare parts and gifted components. About two years ago the place where I stored my computer was broken in to and my computer was stolen, and me being on disabled benefit I didn't have the $ to get a new one. "Hey, it sucks that your computer got nicked, here, have this old PSU I've got lying around." "Hey, it's almost your birthday anyways, <other friend> and I got together and bought you a motherboard and some ram." "Hey I heard that <other person> has an old CPU lying around, and I had this old graphics card collecting dust." and so on and so forth.

The computer is:

AsRock G41M-GS3 motherboard

Corsair 4GB DDR3 RAM

Intel Q6600 Quadcore CPU, 2.4 GHz

NVidia GTX660 graphics

80 GB HDD

160 GB HDD

No working optical drive

Old no-name case

Of these, the only part I paid for is the graphics card, and even then half the cost was given to me. I love my friends.

Ofcourse, then I go and completely ruin the 'woe is me I'm so poor' by posting this:

20p634.jpg

I visited my GF in the US (who had already bought the ticket for me ...) and she went "Hey, I've got this laptop lying around that I spilled water on a while back and replaced and never tested again. See if it works. If it does, you can keep it."

And so I became the proud owner of a Dell Inspiron 17r with,

17" TFT

Ivy Bridge i7

8 GB DDR3

Intel HD 4000 graphics

1 TB HDD

The only caveat? I had to name it after a pony. So, this laptop is called Luna.

..... I freaking love my friends.

It's for teh e-peens man, all about teh e-peens.

Ironically enough the PC with the cooler case is actually very shitty compared to my other PC which has a "Pro-Office" design. I may photobomb this thread with it l8r
