  5. As a semi-burnout let me provide you with some words of advice: Don't chase stats. Just focus on playing better and the stats followDon't chase tiers/tanks just for stats. Ultimately, the game is supposed to be fun. If you're most comfortable at tier 6 and that's where your highest "fun factor" is, then play tier 6. Stats are a reflection of your journey developing your playing skills. They are not the end goal in itself. Heresy.

I won't say there aren't the occasional situations where I think "You know, for this shot the 100mm would be great", I just think that on the whole the 85mm works better. It does require a bit more circumspection, a bit more caution in shot placement at range, and for certain vehicles you'll have to approach them in a different manner, but then when you do end up going loud in someone's face (or side/rear, more accurately) you can pump out a lot more damage than the 100, and without worrying about bloom making the round fly over an engine deck or somesuch frustration. The 100 is definitely the

    MDKIP Rises Again

Like the pheonix we rise again from the ashes. We're back... again. Greetings! Mudkip(MDKIP) is a semi-social clan (eww, how horrible) for all of our Mudkip kind! What are we about? Mudkip is primarily a Strongholds, Tournament, and Platoon oriented clan. We will also be participating in clan wars but it will be an optional event for our members to attend. OUR REQUIREMENTS: -A recent WN8 rating of near or OVER Super Unicum -A recent win rate of at least 60% -Teamspeak 3 -Don't become a headache in TS -Be ACTIVE, while we do not require attendance for Clan Wars, we expect some half decent act

  13. Get some spotting tanks up under D3-F3 area, have the rest of your team in position to support if they get rushed, then start working them down with arty, tds, and drawbox snipers while the tanks under the ridge spot them. They don't have any way to attack the spotters without exposing to the entire map so you can compress the map fairly easily. That way you can break the camp without having to bring a ton of arty, which is a risk of they decide to not turtle. Or you can just go to CW 2.0 and call in an airstrike.

My favorite light tank, my first light and second overall to get triple MoE on, and my choice vehicle for many of the various light tank missions on my way to the Object 260. Best mobile accuracy of all the tier 8 lights, nice small profile, decent camo, great mobility (not the fastest, but great acceleration and maintenance of speed in turns). I am and always have been an 85mm partisan, the 100mm makes it a worse T-54L instead of playing to the vehicle's strengths. You also have an excellent premium (Type 64) to help train crews in. Very .gif-able. Oh, and then there was this incident with a

    The Modelling Thread

I've noticed quite a few fellow model builders (historical and tabletop gaming) around the labs forums since joining and figured it might be worthwhile to make a thread here devoted to the topic. Good way to condense some of the random threads popping up here or there concerning kits and building/painting methods along with any builds people want to flaunt show off to everyone else. To start things off here's Tamiya's 1/35 British Mark IV I finished up over the weekend. Built as is out of box and finished entirely with paints. I would have gone the mile with pastels, but the kit funnily enough

Something about culture being important than gold income, placings in tournaments, etc. I feel your feels Jojack, even though I agree with you on little else, I see the effect of trying to force Bulba into being the new G or OTTER, and I feel similar rebellion. @GabrielAngelos , stop before you become the new Nemesis, stop trying to make CW happen.

The muzzle velocity is barely different, only 40 m/s slower than the 100mm's AP. That's only 0.025 seconds difference in travel time against a target at 500 meters (about 48 cm more lead against a target moving at 70 kph). while on the lower end of the kinetic rounds for the tier 8 lights, the 85mm's AP round isn't really that bad. Heck, it's only 15 m/s slower than the T-54L's AP round. Turret bloom values are pretty important for a vehicle that is moving as much as a light is.

  26. I live two houses away from a rail line that has around 10 to 15 trains per day pass through. People ask me how I can live so close to such an active train track and how I can sleep at night. But really, after a week or so of living here...and I've been here 14 years now...I just really don't notice the train anymore. I'm just used to it. After platooning with Carbonward a few dozen times and a fair bit of diplo when that happened I guess I just don't notice how shit his mic is anymore. If he got a new mic I probably wouldn't even recognize him.

I used to argue the superiority of the 85mm, but with the buffs to the 100mm I think it becomes more a matter of preference. Personal taste and play style can emphasize one over the other. 100mm works better for the pocket medium style where you need to be able to punch through more armor with the reliability of the APCR round. The 85mm works better for the more classic flanker/scout style where you don't need the penetration as much and ROF/DPM/accuracy on the move become more important. Personally I still prefer the 85mm. It gives the tank a different feel than the other 240-250 alpha li

  28. Observe&react. You don't really need to know how exactly spotting system works or know armor layout of every damn mid and high tier tank in the game to have dark green WN8 and WR (note: WN8 without WR is worthless; this game is about winning and Wotlabers show how to have good wins). This game mechanics stuff is something that bluenicums should know but you should focus on that what I wrote: observation and reaction. First and the most important point - watch the entire screen. NEVER tunnel vision on the very center with your crosshair on the enemy. You've got to see a minimap under any ci

Hello! I'm not very good at introductions but figured I might as well. Only been playing WoT for... nearly a year I'd say. Was recommended this site by Jingles and figured why not. I'm a pretty painfully average player just trying to improve my strategies as best as I can. I tend to "choke" a bit when playing, which ends up costing me a win because I have trouble deciding what to do. Hopefully some time here will help me kick the habit :D.

@StranaMechty I want to like the 85mm, but then I permatrack an E-100 for 1600hp with the 100mm and realize afterwards that I'd have lost the match if I'd had the 85mm... I've had plenty of other instances where I punched well above my weight by tracking&dmging someone, that just couldn't have been done with the 85. I've had a lot of instances where the HEAT has failed me too... how do you get past that?

  37. Hi, Rubezahl here. I was directed to this area to provide a link to my replays. I've basically 'had fun' the last 18k games, although I've learned a bit. I want to be better, and I realize the only way that's going to happen is to start learning from better players. One way is for any of you willing to pick my games apart. A player who offered help via the WoT forums suggested I post mainly my losses, and so most that I upload are losses. I agree that the battles you lose are often the best opportunities to learn. I also understand that I very rarely contribute my fair share to a battle

  40. Every single game is winnable. There is no such thing as an unwinnable game. Try not to think of lopsided games as predetermined roflstomps. Play your very best each game, and sometimes you can pull some ridiculous wins out of 9-2 leads. Take the opportunity to hone your skills on your losses. Sometimes, being patient and letting your emboldened and overconfident enemies drive into your ambush will turn the tides. Other times, being extremely aggressive and yoloing across an open field will land you a capfast or surprise flanking maneuver. If your unusual tactics don't give you an upset victor

  43. I started brewing my own... Have stumbled across a Black IPA recipe that goes down a treat, now to see how repeatable it is. The New Zealand scene is fairly new, its only in the last 10 or so years that the big breweries have lost their grip on our shekels, which is why pity prefers the green bottles (they were the better mass brewed beers). The local hops dont really compare to the American ones either, so some of the early offerings were a bit shaky, but in the last year or so we've started to turn out some really good beer. From my wanderings through the imported selection of the brew bar I
