I've been playing again as Malacca and have had a bit more luck this time. Had some fun staying small near the start just taking Siak and releasing it as a vassal and taking Pattini and the capital of Pasai. During the first chunk of the game I mostly spent time keeping my power projection very high and enjoying lots of Humiliate Wars with the Show Strength treaty option to help build up a city to get the Renaissance to come over here. Yea, I'd just wait. I've certainly enjoyed mine in the past (pre nerf and meta shift ) and hope to enjoy it again in the future. Ideally it gets BT7-9 and they adjust the HEAT cost downwards. It's HEAT is just bad!

Swift_m0ti0n (aka CarryBarry) does a great job of talking through his mid and late game tactics/thinking. He also carries a fair bit. I would argue that Decha is bad for beginners and even moderately skilled players to watch. He repeatedly drives straight into clusters of reds. Yet through his exceptional micro-positioning and target selection he often drives back out again, leaving their smoking wreckage behind. Don't try that at home folks.

Zeven is the best for raw beginners. I think replays are really valuable too, because you can pause and look at the maps, the angles, or watch again to see how decisions cascade through the battle. Plus you can pick a class or tank if you can get a hold of a pack of replays. Skill4ltu is my favorite streamer though, best disposition, skills, entertainment. I think there is value in watching the absolute best of the best though, as well as watching players on different servers or play times.

People care more about some math formula and values than improving gameplay.

The brand has outlived it's usefulness. We should be using PR for overalls - because WG paid for that one and supports it. WN9 is the best for recents, but significantly more complicated to maintain (and WN8 isn't exactly a five minute process). Maybe we should go back to WN6/7? But then we'll get complaints about tier dropping and TDs... lipstick on a pig (the API is the pig). As for point two, there is a built in adjustment, but since the API has no time stamps, its weighted down by history. History weighs more each day.

It's quite simple actually. Damage( or lets say WN8) =/= win rate. I can tell right of the bat without looking at any statistics or if I had replay of you that you're doing something wrong, and what that may be you're asking? Well, it's useless damage. Everybody loves damage, don't get me wrong but that's not entirely what wins the games. If you only sit somewhere and wait for targets to shot making 0 pressure and not picking the right flanks/targets your winrate will suffer. WN8 is sadly a really, excuse me, retarded metric because it makes people throw games just to get that extra
