Three-marked the Patton KR last night. It is my second 3-marked tank so far. 2k average damage and 68% WR

The arty re-balance shifts from a high variance, all or nothing mechanic...to a more consistent but lower top end damage mechanic. Anyone who thought it would make them useless misunderstood the changes. In the hands of a talented player, they will be much more consistent. You also get time to react/change what you're doing if you get focused. Class is more balanced AND more powerful (on average). Good change!

server been up for maybe an hour? played one game in 13 90. I thought it would be shit. Surprisingly, its not. it plays completely different now, but its a lot better at zoom zoom pew pew rather than the flanking camo snipe style it had before. it'll take a few more games to see whether or not its better than it was though.

Judging from module leak it seems to have 164mm gun. Its naval gun most likely (they had naval guns of that caliber, just checked) and im pretty sure WG doesnt want to make jap heavy line V2.0, so what we will see is bigass 900 alpha heavy. I expect its not as armored as Maus or Type 5, though. I mean, FCM F1 is (somehow) listed as tier 8 and its stated to have 100-120mm all around armor. I expect that these tanks are more a togs on steroids with bigass guns...

Always thought Garbad brought more to the table than he took away with his baity trolling/fight picking, but I knew him from EVE/Goonswarm and people seemed to have thicker skins in that game.. That said, he was a champion of maximizing WR over dpg, so why are we even talking about damage/wn8 values? I'd like to see any of the top dpg whores play as many games as he did SOLO with as high a WR....it's a lost art. The WR > DPG camp lost it's head when he was banned, unfortunate people couldn't help but get baited into the fights.

Its important to keep using the infrastructure in place around WN8 rather than try to introduce this as a new rating and kill off WN8 as such. Lots of websites pull WN8 values to feed their webpages and the intent here is to keep those pages current and complete. We can achieve that in the short term by issuing a regular expected values update where the values are in fact averages. In future, for every new tank that comes along we just apply the appropriate values for that that type and tier. In time, the sites will rewrite their code to accept the much simpler expected values table we can gen

The big issue with Garbad is he wasn't able to separate his excellent skill and knowledge of the game from his desire to troll the shit out of people and pick fights. As a knowledge bank for this game he is one of the best. Able to convey to others what he is doing and how they can emulate his performance. That's something not many high skill players are capable of. Sharing knowledge isn't an easy thing to do. He just needs to stop trying to poke the anime kids, arty players, etc.

The only thing where you 're at his level is maybe your platoon enhanced WN8. Keep in mind that WoT 2013 was a different game and that WN8 doesn't have an inbuilt "inflation coefficient" despite trying via updadet expect. values (1 point system can't do that for the top 1% or better, when the reference is around 1250 WN8). Comparing 2013 damage numbers with todays is nonsense (for the top 1%). And if you really think you re as good as Garbad was 3-4 years ago (he wasn't the best back then imo) that just shows that you either don't understand WN8 or have an inflated sense when it comes to your

Retarded stun means you get shat on behind cover from 10m away + less one-shots but arty still does a crippling amount of damage, and a lack of MM weights mean that it could literally be a Maus, an E-100, and an E5 v. 3 arty on the other side (Which I've sort of experienced) WG really dropped the fucking ball with this crap, I hope they get their collective shit together and do something about it.

So you want general tips for general improvement. It's really not that simple. Most of the stuff the guys above wrote, is something you could (and should have) read ages ago. Here is one practice that I used to do a while ago, and made me improve a lot: Turn off chat, remove all mods. Assume all your teammates are braindead, and all opponents are unicums. Comparing all the tier8 LT's the new German one is the best all around imo. Highest VR, among the best mobility, best gun dep, 2nd highest pen/alpha behind wz132, best acc by a long shot. The 2 downsides are shitty reload (6 secs when equipped + food) and horrible shell velocity. Really depends on how comfortable you are with 630m/s velocity >.< Bulldog with singleshot and is an option too while wz132 is mostly unchanged from its prior form. Nothing is really gonna replace t54lt and 1390 spam tho

Some most notable things of the line that stands out: - The tier 4 is huge. We are talking about superheavy tank at tier 4. I mean, its almost as big as Maus in terms of raw size. - This is tier 5 (this is same as tier 4 but simple cast steel turret and 155 (!!!) gun): Limited turret traverse considering shit behind its turret, but 155mm gun at tier 5. There is good chance though it has less alpha than O-I or KV-2 for example, as it seems very primitive and short barreled (bison,tier 3 german arty has 150mm and only 450 alpha).
