Figured I might as well make a guide for the contract missions on how I complete them most efficiently. Most of them become really easy when you cherrypick specific maps to play on. As usual, please don't take my word as gospel, remember this is all subjective. Daily missions: Can be completed on standard and hardcore missions, and all levels of Spec Ops. No shame in playing standard missions if you just want to get them done. Firestarter Start 10 fires. Just spam HEAT at everything. Aim for ammo racks, fuel tanks and engines if you're a tryhard. Sometimes you get random fires on your killing shots too, so you'd likely accidentally get this done without even trying. Use a Wilk and spam PELE. PREFERRED MAPS: -Snake Bite -Meltdown -Stormy Winter -Cerberus -Onyx Tireless Support Farm 5000 assist damage for 10 matches. Assist damage have different priorities: 1) designated targets, 2) de-tracked targets, and 3) spotted targets. This means if you de-track a target that someone else has spotted, you will then "steal" that assist damage. Likewise if you designate a de-tracked target. Be aware that others can do the same to you, so the best way to farm assist damage is to simply de-track everything yourself after spotting them. PREFERRED MAPS: -Snake Bite -Quarterback -Watchdog -Umbrella More Damage! Farm 10k damage for 10 matches. That basically means play 10 matches, if you're not racking up at least 10k damage in every single match at tier 4 or higher, you have bigger problems to worry about. PREFERRED MAPS: -Do you really need to cherrypick missions just to farm 10k damage? Cute animal break. Weekly missions: Can only be completed on hardcore missions and all levels of Spec Ops. Not that they are particularly hard if you cherrypick your maps. Support Fire Medals Get 5 Support Fire medals. Farm the most number of ASSISTS, at least 15, for 5 matches. This can sometimes be annoying, but it basically boils down to shooting everything at least once WITHOUT killing them. De-tracking and spotting damage also count towards assists, but that can sometimes be finicky. PREFERRED MAPS: -Snake Bite -Quarterback -Watchdog Destroyer Medals Get 4 Destroyer medals. Farm the most kills, at least 15, for 4 matches. There's no shame in holding your fire and killstealing, as long as you win at the end. PREFERRED MAPS: -Life Jacket -Watchdog -Meltdown -Spec Ops missions -Anything with enough bots thrown at your way for you to farm, but short enough so everyone else can't kill more than you do. Target Medals Get 8 Target medals. Repel the most damage on your team, at least 10 hits and 1000+ damage. Any MBTs with some degree of effective armor will work fine, just drive forward and get shot at. Try your hardest to not get destroyed, because the counter resets once you do. Easy to farm if you sit in front of an autocannon and let it plink away at you for as long as you want. PREFERRED MAPS: -Quarterback -Snake Bite -Any map where you can afford to sit at one spot and get shot at without taking (much) damage. Teamwork Medals Get 5 Teamwork medals. Just make sure nobody dies, for 5 matches. Can sometimes be annoying since pubbies love to kill themselves. PREFERRED MAPS: -Quarterback -Rolling Thunder -Anything short and easy to lessen the chances of pubbies dying. Blue Star Medals Get 5 Blue Star medals. Get top XP 5 times, you should be getting one at least every other match, if not every single match. In other words play 5 matches. PREFERRED MAPS: -None. Just farm your damage and win. Shooter Medals Get 8 15 Shooter medals. Farm 2000 damage, with at least 80% accuracy over 20+ shots. If you don't get one and you're playing something with a normal gun (no autocannons/missiles), you have bigger issues to worry about. Basically play 8 15 matches. Don't use autocannons or missiles for obvious reasons. PREFERRED MAPS: -None. Detonator Kill 5 bots by ammo rack explosion or fire, within the same match. Possibly the hardest or easiest mission depending on your luck. Yes, I said luck, because you NEED your teammates to NOT shoot at stuff that you've already set on fire in order to be credited for the kill, meaning you'd want your teammates to play poorly in general. Wilk with PELE is still my most reliable setup. Missions that allow you to fuck off somewhere far away from your teammates are ideal, since you don't want them having line of sight at your targets. PREFERRED MAPS: -Stormy Winter -Cerberus Marksman Farm 20k damage, fire at least 20 shots, with 100% accuracy and penetration with every shot. Can be annoying at high tiers because T-14, T-15 and Merk 4M APS can eat your shots. Best done at tier 8 or tier 6. Might be fairly difficult on Ricochet or Hydra or other "easy" missions, since they don't offer enough damage or targets to go around for everyone. Don't use autocannons or missiles obviously. AP shells might help if you are scared of composite armor and ERA. PREFERRED MAPS: -Anything that isn't too easy or short, so you can farm 20k damage. Total Elimination Farm 30 kills and assists combined. This is easier than it sounds, it basically boils down to shooting or designating every target at least once for the assist credit. You will also get credit for spotting damage, though that's not too reliable. Not particularly hard as long as you are dilligent in your target selection. PREFERRED MAPS: -Life Jacket -Watchdog -Any of the Spec Ops missions Perfect Streak Win 5 matches in a row, without you or your PLATOONMATES getting destroyed. The mission description is horrible, by allies it really means your platoonmates only. This means if you're solopubbing you'd only have to worry about yourself and winning. PREFERRED MAPS: -None. Doesn't matter, it's just about winning. If you haven't noticed already, a lot of the missions can be made easy simply by cherrypicking specific maps to play on. So here's a link to my rotation tracker thread: https://forum.wotlabs.net/index.php?/topic/28620-armored-warfare-pve-mission-rotation-tracker/ Also, I really hate those "do X for 10 matches" missions.

Learning how too 3 mark stuff

unless you are doing a LT or med, I would not say view range is that important. Aiming and tracking (learn to do both at same time) are the single most beneficial pair. A whole bunch of pref tanks armed with 122mm beanbag guns, gain so much with tracking the target and dealing four hundred with it. Because assisted isn't tallied as combined, rather which of the two assisted was greater - don't get so over-hyped over spotting. Unless you are playing a light tank or situational meds / E25 Time required. You don't need to be like orzanel or Skill4ltu, and 3-mark vehicles in 85 games. Relax, play above avg, play consistent, over a span of three, four hundred and you will three mark it. I have seen the hellcats of many players in random skirm, they brag about a 3-mark Hellcat or cromwell, and their DPG is like eight hundred. Yet they have played 3K games for it. Likewise on the other end, one hundred games but dealing 1.2 or 1.3K won't 3-mark them, yet you are performing vastly better. Relax, play it out, and you will get it. And it won't take thousands of games it took others Consistency. Tactics. If you are doing something like S1, you maybe forced to turn off Ensk/Himmels. Shooting twice and dealing eight hundred is terrible, but shooting 15 times and dealing 3K+ is awesome. Remove the Himmels and Ensk, likewise increases the chances of prokh, Redshire, and Malin. It is all about consistency, don't play enraged it only ends up badly. Also, if you are playing vehicles like Skorp G, SU-PM, charioteer - don't be afraid to be aggressive late game / clean up. Spending HP can make all the difference Don't cap. Fight and die a warrior. Even if it means losing. Adding on 1K of assists and dmg end game, means infinitely more than even an invader medal and win from cap - ignore team chat. A win matters for WN8, not for Moe Tank choices. I know this one really does matter, but it matters enough for me to decide on tanks. IS7, WZ5A, T57 are a crap tonne whole hell of a lot harder to mark.....than an IS4, Type, Maus. Maus and Type may seem inflexible, predictable, and slow.....but just turn off prokh and malin....half your troubles are gone. Even campy, bushy maps like westfield, redshire, murovanka offer dedicated heavy flanks and some arty cover. 121, T62A, K91 are a tonne easier, than tanks like Patton, progetto, STB1 Ammunition. Doing somua, lorraine, or progetto? Why not all APCR. These tanks have the added bonus of being prem, even if you are going out and spending 65K on ammunition afterwards, you likely dealt lots and perhaps broke even, or lost only a little. Why not. Keep in mind, tanks like T57, Kran, Bat Chat may still need AP/APCR, because HEAT gets fucked over by tracks when shooting sides

Pretty much in the same situation here. If I didn't already have the T95E2 or if I needed another US med crew I would be tempted for that and the skin. It really is a T95E2, with buffed maneuverability (due to Engine HP), the buffed cupola, slightly more alpha, and better AP and and HEAT pen offset by 100 less Hit Points, worse hull armor, and slower top end and reverse speeds. https://tanks.gg/compare/t95e2?l=000001&e=30.21.5&c=3.5.2&t=tl-1-lpc_000001__30.21.5_3.5.2

Source: https://thearmoredpatrol.com/2019/09/15/wg-fest-2019-a-look-into-the-future/ New Vehicles/Dual-Gun Tanks We’re constantly looking for new ways to develop the existing tech trees in our game. We don’t have any master plans for the introduction of specific machines yet, but we’re pondering some interesting concepts. After all, aim has always been to introduce tanks that will provide you with fresh and unique gameplay, and add variety to your daily gaming experience. This is precisely the case with dual-gun vehicles, which are about to enter the closed Supertests. These vehicles will be equipped with two guns, allowing you to shoot both simultaneously and sequentially. We’re actively working on the mechanics of these unusual machines, and their concept may change as a result of testing. Keep your eyes peeled for a Developers Diaries video and a dedicated article to be published tomorrow, going into more detail on these unique battle heroes. Twin barrel tanks. We want twin barrel tanks to appear in our games. In a very short time the tests will start again in supertest. You can fire both shells at once, or fire them individually like Italian autoreloaders, however both shells have the same reload item. Salvo fire (Fire both shells), requires charge up time. This kills your DPM but allows to inflict massive burst damage. (Plans for a full Dual barrel Branch are in the works featuring both the ST-II and a dual barrel IS-4) Sandbox During the next iteration of the Sandbox, we plan to test reworked mechanics for dealing damage with HE shells. We’re currently testing a system in which the mechanics for dealing damage will be calculated more fairly and become more predictable, both for the player who inflicts it and for the tank hit by a HE shell. All changes from previous Sandbox iterations will be saved. More detailed information on all changes will be published closer to the start of the Sandbox in a dedicated article. We’re going to launch the next iteration this autumn. Everyone is eligible to participate and evaluate the modifications we propose—you just need to download the separate Sandbox client. The changes we’re testing are very important to our game, so we would like to once again invite everyone to share their feedback. The Anonymizer The anonymizer is a tool that conceals a player’s real username in battle. This feature was announced at last year’s WG Fest, and is important to our players. The main task of the anonymizer is to maintain a certain privacy in game, and the tool we’re currently working on can solve this issue. We had several ideas of how the anonymizer should work in World of Tanks, but the most fitting concept for players would be that the player should be anonymous only during battles. How does it work? You select an option in the game settings and activate the anonymizer. The game generates a random username in each battle. It’s not a random string of symbols, but a word that more or less makes sense, so other players won’t even notice that you have the anonymizer turned on. They will only realize it after the battle when they want to see your battle statistics. The anonymizer will let many players feel more comfortable in battle. There will be less “social pressure”, and you’ll be able to play your favorite game in peace. Session Statistics At the time of launch of session statistics, we were already actively working on its second iteration, and are now ready to share our plans with you. Win percentage, number of vehicles destroyed, survival rate, and number of opponents spotted will all be added to the session statistics to make your experience more enjoyable. An options button will be also added to configure the feature to your needs. You will be able to change the priority of economic parameters and select what data will be hidden. In fact, you can enable/disable almost all parameters, all while tracking the average experience earned per session. We also decided to add an option to not reset the stats every day. Now it’s up to the player to decide when their session starts! The new version of session statistics coming out next year will cover several game modes. Your statistics will be available in a special menu where you can see your efficiency in the Frontline mode, for example. Level, Frontline experience, average rank per session, Personal Reserves, Credits—you can see it all. Also, this feature will allow you to analyse your battle efficiency in each mode, including: Damage to main objectives Base capture points Damage by consumables Average blocked damage And much more. Finally, we plan to replace the Personal Rating that’s shown in the Achievements section with WTR. Source: https://thearmoredpatrol.com/2019/09/15/wgfest-2019-info/ Wargaming is experimenting with “Quality shadows” without utilizing Real Time Raytracing (RTX) technology, which allows to use the advanced ray tracing technique in the game without the need of a hyper expensive graphics cards. EnCore will receive an update as EnCore RT for testing your gaming rig with the new quality shadows feature enabled. Service Reward (Free T-50-2). This will be continued this year with extra rewards. Rewards will be announced in few months time. New branches and nations – WG has been adding new stuff into the game and fixing the current , nations are not a priority. Tier 9 premium vehicles. Might happen in the far future. Matchmaker: the template system works and fixes the “tier 8 vs tier 10” problem, where you are never outclassed. WG is working on mitigating changes from special events that would influence the normal matchmaker balance. Next step for matchmaker – less battles with 3 arties per team, and more often with 2 or less. PvE modes are being worked on. Few tanks have been rebalanced like the Type 5, Leopards and FVs. The Type 5 derp gun nerf has worked and put the 2 main guns into similar capability levels. The FV 4005 nerf made the tank adapt a lot more careful playstyle without hindering the damage output too much. STB is quite good now according to WG, and statistics show good performance levels. 430U nerf was cancelled as the nerf didn’t show any promising results. WG don’t want to overnerf the tank, so that they wouldn’t have to follow a buff – nerf – buff – nerf cycle. The new tank rebalances are likely to be delayed as WG is focusing on shell rebalance first. RNG changes – no plans. 25% is here to stay. Artillery. After shells rebalance, changes might happen. French cars are not getting changed for now. Statistics show them to be good but not OP. They are quite comparable to other nations’ light tanks. They are under constant monitoring and might be changed if needed. British lights overall are made to be played in a very particular way. WG says that the tanks are performing well.

Learning how too 3 mark stuff

What I learned, based on my limited time 3 marking stuff (I fucking hate doing it) was to track fucking everything. assisted damage counts to mark progress, if you track and damage shit, and teammates shoot them, that counts as progresss. I also went and tracked stuff where possible when I didnt have any shots that could do damage, and it resulted in some extra damage. Bruh, will 3 marking my STB, I got it to 94.94% (unknown to me at the time because I was purposely not looking at it, platoon mate told me after) then the next game was doing great and then choked and got myself derped by a JPE, and then was down another 2% by the end of the session.

3 little things ive learned when 3 marking that are super important 1:View Range doesn't matter what tank, try you max ur VR as much as possible. this means both VR skills+food+ optics if viable. 2: Tracking Shots Track everything if/when available, in fact make it a habit even when u aren't 3 marking 3: Composure Stay clam, getting angry will only make you play stupid. think things trough and make smart choices, dont always try to be aggressive and force a good game. some games will require slower/campy game-play to get anything out of them.
  33. 1 point
I think the other thing that you didn't mention regarding the 3 marking battles is that it's your last 100 battles - you only have to be consistently good for 100 battles. This also means that you'll occasionally get wild swings if, for example, a shit 0-damage battle where you potato and die first drops off the end and gets replaced by your 6k damage 2k spotting kolobanov+radleys game or whatever. I had the same problem as you the first time I tried 3-marking the derp T49, got to about 93% and then just potatoed hard three games in a row and dropped to about 87, gave up on it. When I finally went for it again (after noticing that I was back to about 90% without really trying for it), I would literally just do one battle a day for the longest time - I'd log in, do a T49 battle, and then go do my other grinds. That way, I'm solely affected by RNG and my own skill, as opposed to say, being tilted by being nuked by arty last battle. Eventually my potato games dropped off the end and I was consistently doing 3-4k+ combined per game with some really lucky map RNG since blocking maps wasn't a thing back then. Given that your issue is consistency within a session, maybe give the once-a-day thing a try once you go above 90% on the marks? Finally, assist damage is apparently vastly underrated for 3-marking (and do note that it only takes the higher of spotting or tracking, you don't get both) - I've had 0 damage games with a full percent progress due to the amount of spotting received. I'll also note that during my original 3-mark grind, I wasn't running optics (or a 5-skill crew or food), but once I swapped out GLD for optics for the extra view range and started running cola every match is when my mark %age started going up again due to the extra assist damage. For an E50 you might be better off going for tracking shots than spotting - i've never played the thing, idk how blind it is or isn't, but it doesn't seem like the kind of tank you can go and get spots with in the current year. also obviously just run food, buy 200 crew books, and spam gold for ez frags from noobs tl;dr: always go for damage+tracking shots if possible, but don't be afraid to just 0-damage track something if it's the best you can do since you'll still get more mark progress than just holding fire waiting for a damaging shot don't play on tilt - if you potato in one game don't dig yourself deeper trying to gain that % back. If one battle a day is all your sanity can take, do one battle a day. Block shit maps lmao Abbey and Paris fucked my mark percentage so many times

    Charts: What matters to you?

Hello! So I'm currently in the process of revamping the charts, ditching Google Charts and going to something more modern and flexible. Along with this, I thought I ought to ask the community: What kind of information matters to you that can be put on a chart? Win rate and WN8, surely, but average damage? Average experience? What else should I drag up from your statistics and chart it out so you can see your progress? Cheers!
  41. 1 point
The one that has triggered me the most recently is the one in the top northwest corner of Minsk, two bushes either side of a solid piece of cover, looks right down the west flank and you can literally only approach it across a bridge and you can't outspot it from any cover. If you try to approach it from the other side its easier but just as open and often there are bobs camping around the cap that prevent you from moving from that side. So you win the west flank and congrats that gives you sweet fuck all. Along with arty its probably the thing in game that most makes me rage, winning a flank but unable to actually progress the game because WG decided the braindead idiot who can only drive 50m from spawn needs a much superior position to the one I have just lost half my HP fighting for and one that I can't flank.
