    Being new I thought US DD`s looked totally useless because they didnt have Ninja 20km torps but the more I play the more I realize after 10km its hard to predict enemies anyways, and guns on dessy`s are much better than I thought.

    TBH WOWS balance is head and shoulders better than WOT and why I migrated to it. Its nice to see at least 2 countries in competition in each class. Its not all Rus meds and clones of rus meds.

    Only sad part is US bb`s suck IMO. Well maybe not NC from what I have seen it looks great, huge camo for T8 BB. But Montana autopen hull vs Yamato and the slow, fat inaccurate BB`s are bad. I mean come on the US ships being slow and fat should get warspite lasers wit h17km range, not this 15 km with every 3rd salvo hitting BS.

    From balance view. Kongo/Fuso should have mid range fast reload low accuracy while US gets lasers, large tanking and slow speed

    I did the same. Its Arc and ability to shoot while running at huge ranges is massive. Also its huge rof vs dd`s is huge.

    The other better version of the Cleveland IMO is the Bud`s. It has same amazing guns except with laser accuracy and the extra 2km you really need to kite. So with its lasers i kill DD and long range I can plant fires on BB`s and cit cruisers.

    Along the same lines Warspite is by far the best T6 BB as it Overmatchs bow armor on US BB`s and can pen them from the front. It also has lasers and a big range of 17ish km. And it almost never misses.

    Basically all these ships were "Balanced" by the fact that they were OP vs t6 or below but got beat hard by T8`s. So since its capped, these are the go to ships IMO. 

    I learned fast range and shoot and scoot is all due to the fact I cant rely at all on teamates and if Im going to lose I need to turn scumbag at end and kill 1-2 more guys as they chase me to not lose stars :)

    Farr seems to be best T6 dessy and I dont have a concealment captain because im a newb.

    Anyways since I have done this system I have gone 10/16 and lost 1 star only.


    IDK why all the newbs bring New Mexico`s...US BB are garbage. SLow, fat, inaccurate with low range and have huge super structure for guys to light on fire.

    I rather have a Kongo than a NM and a Fuso or Warspite isnt even fair.

  3. This is why I dont play my 140 anymore. It takes way less skill than other tanks to win in. It simply performs best or 2nd best in every scenario, and that means you dont have to plan to play for your tanks niche. As long as you dont yolo to hard you can fight other tanks at there own game and stay competitive.  This is also the reason a ton of the best players love them is they can beat anyone on any map with them if they play right.

    When I played it I wasnt great. I was 20% worse than now I feel. And my stats in it are as good as anything else almost. It simply is way to good at almost every role.

    All Rus meds have against them is depression but the way the maps are made, they almost always make ways for you to reverse aim on hills or side depress or use the lower sides. -5 is harder but, -6 pretty much can do anything I need.

    DPM characters or vehicles in other games really struggle in other ways and the Ru meds dont. Look at the STB shit gun handling. Its very bad. But the 140`s 320 alpha isnt really bad. TBH if they made it 280 the guns would still be great. ROF is so fast you can start tracking multiple tanks or with guys with no rep skill you can shoot 1 shot for DMG and one for tracking them.

    Compare it to everything except the 62a, the 140`s turret is amazing. It doesnt have a huge tumor to pen, its still well angled and the thin overmatch spot is a tiny strip that you have to aim for that disapears when its leaned back. Everything else is godmode compare that to turret which can be penned

    Next is there camo, the only other tanks in game that sneaky are sift as shit. AMX30 or Batchat vs a 140 is night and day. So in camo role its as good as anything.

    All in all the 140 does nothing bad and is in every med role the 2nd best, if not first.

    I try to play things that challenge me more and it has made me better. Playing the AMX30b was a blast and made me much more patient. STB makes you play much smarter tactically as you have to plan not to get in a true brawl with Rus meds because even though it has the best nato turret, it isnt shit compared to the Rus ones.

    I can only hope the re balance gives us the real Amx30 or M60a1 that have weakish hulls but amazing turrets we deserve. I was really upset about them making theAMX30 so blah. It has the meh stats it would deserve if it had a great turret, so im hoping it will come.

    Its funny even the 50/51 takes much more planning than a Rus med do, i n a RU med you can just go Yolo and figure out how to use its amazing all rounded to fight an win.

  4. So WOWS is so much harder to carry than WOT. For instance in WOT I can hull down and kill 3 newbs on the regular. Or I can bait shots then circle guys and face hug etc.

    In SHips I feel like I have to give up HP in almost all positions when outnumbered.

    It is def more team dependent.


    Don`t get me wrong my first 50 games I was a shitter trying to get used to T3-4 and 5 ships. It was a bad time as all I saw was Molotovs and higher tiers.

    Now that im to a good ship, I am doing solid DMG and kills when I am able to support a team that doesnt melt. Most games in my Kuma I was 35k DMG and 1.5 kills. Now in my Furrry Taco I am 45k 2 kills and was pulling off a lot. But at 13km I am out ranged by much faster longer range ships who have higher DPM. I love its torps, but its so slow and turn like a truck.


    ANyways, I need a Plat partner. Everytime I plat even with bad players I win and I have great games. Very rarely in a Plat have I not been top on Exp.


    Please good players give me a shot, I need to learn and am fast doing so. Please add me and spam me.


    Hopefully my WOT stats will show you my mind isnt complete mush. :)

    Its not really to improve really. Im super competitive with myself and it bugs me that this tank seems to be one I really have no idea how well im doing in.

    I never just use Wn8, ever. But I do use Wn8 as one part of my overall self ranking :)

    W/R is obviously king, but since its a uber soft T6 and with the sheer amounts of T8 prems tend to be fighting higher tiers more often than other tanks. So a win is cool, but I also like to have a rough DMG number in mind so I can pace myself. Otherwise I yolo to often and end up losing more, esp on West. Because on west you need to stay alive till the very end, or risk losing a 5 tank to 2 advantage.

    Anyways, I have some games in it where im sure I was amazing with 7 kills and 3500 DMG. But then others its 1k DMG and a kill for 3 straight t8 games.



    Wn8 is just a easy metric to roughly get an idea of my playing. Instead of using RawDmg+W/R, I use Wn8+W/R and since Wn is more than just Dmg, I am hoping its a tad more accurate.

    But Xte was a great suggestion by someone.


    Considering the price, the fact you don't have a decent crew I wouldn't recommend it. The gun depression buff IMO is more for the suffering owners of the thing rather than to entice new buyers.



    Thanks for update. Shit, I was hoping the -5 was gonna blow the doors off of the medium line. Its funny looking back it had a DPM buff, a bloom buff and now a depression buff and guys are still saying its just falling in line :) Cuni how the hell did you like it so much before then?

    Eh, maybe, the way I play it I just HEAT through frontal engagements, the way the maps are now you will find many more opportunities for direct engagements than you will for flanking.

    That being said, things are a bit different now with the depression change... AP343 is certainly more viable than before since you can get your gun into play with less effort than previously, you can go for LFPs more easily etc. How much more viable it is, I don't know. 

    I would recommend the JT88 over this for credits, but the viability of the 343 for credit making while maintaining adequate performance is no longer as certain as it was before, I can't give you a definitive answer as I have not yet even played it since the change, I've only just finished setting up my mods (which hopefully will work).

    I can do a set of games with just AP and maybe produce an well based opinion on it.

    Please do. Give me a mini review. From what I have seen you are one of if not the most exp proponents of the 34-3. ALso I am looking for a generalized balance of AP-Gold. Maybe a 75-25 split as I will always pay a 1/4th of my credits/Time to play at a higher level and get the win.

    I guess im looking for a fun tank with max creditability. My Jt88 is great for creds but to boring for me. I was hoping the IS3a would be a perfect mix but im just not sure yet as it really isnt a is3 but a true heavy.

    T59 is amazing tank but its DPM is also low, however its alpha as I said lacks. So where as a FCM makes around 45k per game for me, the 59 is probably 25ish as a whole. If I could swing a happy medium between the two I would love it.

    Also how is the T54 Prot for creds or the STA2 etc? Any other tank im overlooking? Basically a fast moving credit maker [In Pubs] thats not the FCM?

    As for the T343, its an entirely different vehicle now. It is now more of a tier 8 T-54 than WZ-120, and will be similarly more effective. With a great turret for its tier, and the familiar -5 degrees of depression, it will now be the tier 8 medium that everyone has always wanted to replace the Type 59. For some, the gun handling and dpm is still a deal breaker, but to me and many others it will be a unique and particularly interesting yet capable tank in a comfortable tier bracket.

    As soon as I saw the buff I wanted to ask you being the 34-3 Jedi, If you thought credits wise it would be a good purchase.

    I have a 59, but TBH it isnt the credit maker of some tanks because its alpha is lower and being a chinese tank it derps.

    My thinking is the T34-3 esp on city maps will now be superior in many ways because its peekaboom credit power.

    Is my thinking off?

    I mean dont get me wrong the 59 is my all round favorite but lately I am just trying to grind creds and this means using guns with Hi pen for range like FCM [Not CDC as it just gets rolled vs anything hard] or T34. Or I have to use 180ish mm meds and flank, or Is6/112 type heavies at knife range and not miss. Out of all these I figure the T34-3 could flank as well as get close enough for weakspots etc.

    Basically with a Is6 gun on a med you can also get 40% more DMG at end of match vs arty and other softies right?

  12. Is there a trick to getting a general Idea about WN8`s exp DMG for a new tank like the skoda? Obviously I dont expect accuracy but is there a general way to look at vbaddict etc to see what I should go for? Feels like most games 1100-1300 is very solid at this tier esp since it gets many kills. But Im just asking in general.


    If there isnt does it update at v24 or do they just add it in table as soon as they can?

  13. I was called a US FANBOI a few weeks back for saying it needed a solid buff back to the Pre-7.5 days. This is basically what happend. Feels so good to be vindicated for the last 3 years. Because this means without a doubt that the Fatton was sucking badly. They dont like to "ReBuff" tanks that were OP and nerfed. They only do it if its really bad at its intended role and TBH it didnt have a solid role anyways.

    It was a generalist and by being so is in the toughest group in WOT with the 140/62s/50m and even the STB/Actionx Basically there wasnt a role that the STB couldnt do awell in but the STB had many things the M48 couldnt. STBs 6%More camo means great vision control and thats 50% if a meds role.

    I took the M48 nerf s as a huge sign of Bias and or Retardation. Im so glad to see that they understood they broke the tank and it was fine before 7.5 .

    The real issue was the 62a not being clearly better. They were in a dead HEAT as the 62 is still a laser with a hard helmet as well as almost double the camo. Literally It seemed to have been one of the more balanced times in WOT.

    Also looking at the new M48/54 it is a straight animal. Great gun handling, E5 gun and more like heavy armor than med armor. It just confuses me why they would make that so great and then make the T96e6 a POS. They both should get same 120mm E6 turret, but look at them in armor viewer its a huge difference.

    So heres hoping they finally just give in and give us the 60a1 and match the tanks as they shoud have been. It kind of bugs me we are in 1948 tanks vs tanks that out own M60a1`s inspired. Amx30, STB/t74 and many others to come were basically direct ripoffs that were then modified.  So the father tank to half the nato tanks is to advanced?

    I am so ready for them to introduce new and fresh designs.This Buff + TVP Auto that has decent bloom etc is making me think WG is starting to turn this game around finally. I think AW is the best thing to happen to WOT in 3 years

    Guys, now that they fixed UK and US meds what deserves loving? I hear 121 will get 2 degrees depression

    maybe find a tier average damage and use the -1 or -2 tier average damage for bounces.

    This would also depend on the tank I think. So a hard IS7 you can assume that bounced stuff is less DMG low tier guns. But vs a STB1 or Leo bounced will almost always mean poorly aimed shots as a T8 med will pen as easily as a Jagzilla.

    Isnt there a number of avg DMG blocked? They have been tracking that since making tanked armor get XP right?


    Either way STagnate has a good solution because with these it will always be safe to be on the lower side vs overestimating a vehicles Eff HP Better safe than sorry

    You idea is essentially develop a "discount" that I apply to the incoming damage value. Two ways to get at it:

    a) Look at average per shot damage by tier - oh boy, that'll be a bitch to get in a usable form unless someone can scrape the wiki real good for me (plus I need to make assumptions about mix of top vs. stock gun, derps etc). From there I need to calculate/estimate the mix of MM placement per tank etc. Sounds very complex and still lots of assumptions.

    b) Somehow develop a flat discount by tier that is based on penetration rates by tier (you are assuming that higher tier tanks pen more than lower tier tanks) and then assume some rule of thumb MM tier mix that each tank will face. More realistic to do, but moar assumptions.

    I think simply take the AVG alpha from forinstance T7 Lights, T8 TD, T8 heavies and T8 Meds and apply that as avg. SOmething very simple. We can get into more complicated stuff later. Like I said, error on the side of less Eff HP and all tanks might lose a few % HP over reality but that is better than overestimating HP. Most important thing is they are treated the same. More than the actual Eff HP is there ration of hardness to eachother.

    Also I wanted to know is there a way to make the "Hardness Rating" similar to Garbad. Where you take Raw HP and combine that with Bounce and get the adjusted or "EffectiveHP"? So for instance a IS7 bounces 50% more as much as a 215b or 100% more than AMX50b.


    Then you could make the ultimate Effective DMG vs Effective HP or Eff DMG vs Eff HP vs Exp DMG ETC.

    Please keep making these. Your on to something.

    I  would argue in endgame where your matched vs odd things like ISU`s or IS3`s ir other hard hitting heavy`s that Optics would push the Spershing into a safe buffer zone. Esp using its depression mixed with that.

    Was this during one of those heavy events where the huge DMG sponges where the on track tank? You know like the great KV5 harvest? I was seeing soooo many padable games when 5 guys on each team were in those heavies either for Maus or during KV5 sale/mission, it was insane. Like 3 players on team had 5k+ DMG

    Bro sometimes it rolls this way. The worst runs I have in this game [Like right now] are not bad because the losses. They are bad because the completely lopsided matches where your team folds so fast you literally are swarmed by 5+ tanks in first major contact and end up with 100% DMG being traded shot for shot as you die. Or the ones where you do 90% of the breakthrough and sell your HP at the cost of there team losing, but then have all the newbs you saved pass you up and cap.


    I feel your pain. I have had the worst luck ever with the CDC. I had 4 amazing games in a row then bam 20 bad ones. 5 DC`s in combat. 5 wins where I had 2k hard fought DMG [and would have had 5k after battle] but they capped, 5 losses like I described were my team just melted. Then 2 Arty pops and a fire. SO the 5k DMG games I was waiting for to balance the bad ones out havent came at all, as it seems like I either sink or swim.


    Anyways dont give up on it. And try to get a platoon of one guy so he doesnt steal all your DMG, but so he can at least make the battles last longer.

    Yeah there is definitely a diff in how you have to play Solo vs Plat. Hell I have to play different on West server vs East. The talent level is so low on West and the players are so bad they can blow a 8-4 lead you hand them. So it means you have to survive at all costs, even if it seems like your not helping the team as much.

    If he is a legit solo player that has done well in non padded tanks Im sure most teams would want him. If not hes not far away.

    Shit the last I remembered you were blue at 2kish Wn8. Then I take a 5 month break and comeback and pow 2700 wn8 and 8% winrate increase. And I bet you did that before the full 5 months.


    Looking at his account he is mainly mid to high 3k Wn8 on most important tanks. And the ones bringing him down are things he was a newb in with a lot of battles.  His 140 stats are amazing and if they were in a 62a and not 140, they would be 4,5k Wn8.

    I hope the recruiters look deeper than just Wn8 and W/R and look int oa player heavily. If so he could be much better than your avg padder. Im not sure as I dont know him, but if he was able to match your profile and do 1k battle`s in 62a and 1k in E50 and 1k more in  3rd solid med he would skyrocket. TBH I have to imagine those Wn8 reqs are simply to keep scrubs from applying and to give the clans a extra tool to weed people out.



    I wasnt saying you are a padder. Just that he should follow your formula to success. 1500 Leo 1k 62a and 1k E50, would make him rise fast.

    With your stats there would be few places you couldn`t just walk on. I would take my time in picking the right fit. Because team hopping looks bad, but most times its because players pick to fast and dont pick the right clan first. With 3 nights a week you want a badass clan, but most of them have 4 night minimums. If I were you I would look at Bulba. Not just because they are OP and FOTM, but because from what I hear they are not strict on participation. But of course Relic [Basically the oldest/Strongest group] is a great choice. Villin is very solid obviously. Just talk to all top 5 recruiters and see what arrangment wors best. See where they play CW and make sure you are that TZ.
