  1. Funny thing is TDs still suck on those map and old maps gave TDs much more to do. It's the height of incompetence. Design a map around a class and then have that class struggle on those maps Wait as much as I agree you say no reason to play MT's yet you seem to still prefer MT's.
  2. Kharkhov is giving me Paris and Pilsen vibes. Yaaay we created some open space next to city but it's essentially a no mans land.
  3. Studzianki is workable imho. Erlenberg and Minsk through. Also high tier ensk. Yeah those are cancer.

t10 is good but still not better than other tanks that still use vstabs
  5. This guy is a great example why being a maths major doesn't automatically make you good at interpreting numbers and knowing what they mean. Kinda explains why so many algorithms work like shit nowadays since quants with no social skills like this design them. Also I forgot to respond the first time he was here but how did he claim he was #1 scout on na?

The gun handling is not that good.
  7. Sorry but this is a garbage tank for garbage players. No way to maximize skill in this. Armor is random as shit. Gun is random as shit. You get some bounces so you can trade 40% of your shots for 440 dmg
  8. Every streamer that claimed 50tp = polish defender is a retard. Seriously. This tank is bad.

@lavawing but the prem round is shit. 243pen on a derpy gun is horrible. I am running food and spamming gold. Sorry but first of all this means the tank sucks against anything heavy above tier8. The tank also can easily be penned frontally by people who aim.

Also sorry but if all of the skill required for the tank is "where are the low alpha tanks" and blapping them then no it's not a tank for skillfull play and I'd rather do that in a Ferdie.

In the new MM you hardly even see tanks above tier 8 so that's not the biggest problem I'd say. Now, the prem round is shit but it gives you just a little more reliability especially at mid ranges or beyond. It's hardly an impenetrable tank, but you should be averaging around 0.7-0.9 armour use efficiency depending on how you play.

On a side note playing slow tanks requires more map reading and planning than tanks that can easily flex. It isn't the most intuitive thing ever, but the Maus (and the IS-4) is or used to be one of the best tanks for winning despite not seeming to require much skill or reward skill much.

PS I found I performed much better when I played this tank like a damage whore than when I treated as a bona fide frontline heavy.

@lavawing yeah armor efficency is good. The problem is with armor being hard to maximize and unreliable you don't know what to expect from armor so it makes it hard to plan engagements. Also I know how to play heavies.

Not to mention a premium tank that only kinda works when firing premium? Great money maker. Compare this to Lowe, Somua (imho the best premium heavy) and it looks bad.

  10. It's the long weekend. Theoretically. 400pages of scripts to read only today. Ffs. I like doing the job but we should be more selective of what seems commercially viable.

I have a few friend who either have just finished their Phd's or will do in a short time so it sounded familiar even if I dropped out of Uni when I realized I don't want to be an electronics engineer.

Lit festivals, panels and readings sounds good. I envy the creative freedom or at least the freedom to express yourself even if yeah it goes with pay that's as problematic as mine (though still probably better since not Polish wages).

Are you planing to be a full time academic or what's the plan?

Oh i actually dont present too often. Im more on the organization side ;-)  and if need be i have to "host".

I cant live from it to be honnest, its some pocket money on the side. And it got worse since VW and their disel shit. The first thing that looses monney is always the cultural promotion since big companies and the state have to relocate money for legal expenses...

I have to work retail on the side to pay my rent .

For the future i am thinking about the publishing business (but there is also no money so...) but if i could get a culture related job in the public service here in germany  id be pretty happy. wage and pension wise...

@Action there is money in publishing. Not great but if you go to a decent company that buys and sells a decent number of stuff you can earn a living.

I have also assumed what you do is university funded. There you can live pretty well. I have a friend who just handed his PhD paper in Philosophy from Neuro Cognitivism and his life isn't bad financially working in the university.

Also wait how is VW related with your job? State paid for VW? I get that German pensions are connected to the car industry but VW should take that hit not the country.

As for culture related job - don't go for public sector. That requires connections. Go for a private job. I know a few people who simply work for movie festivals, pannels etc and have way more time than I do while making better money. Worst case scenario find a job for a movie distributor or a tv channel. ARD has a really strong documentary section and the guy who runs it seemed like a cool guy for the few hours I spent with him during a local festival. Though non movie industries also have some decent jobs. My friend lives in Munich and his roommate is a graphic designer for a radio station as far as I remember and doesn't seem uber poor even though he doesn't seem super well off either.

  11. STB changes clearly shows they have no idea what makes a tank good and they are guessing. Jesus. Isn't there at least one person that is competent there? If they want to keep stb derpy give it an autoreloader like someone mentioned or keep the derpy nature but give it stupid high dpm so it can afford to miss.
  12. Idiots don't get that 360 alpha is a big nerf to stb and they need to do a lot to counter it.
  13. Kolni I think you are looking at it too much from tryhard perspective. For most unis up to 65% the tank will scale well if they keep 340 heat.
  14. So they decided not to nerf the obj430 because they want to powercreep it with this shit?
