    Not even free to play. I'm a paying player (probably bought 20t8 prems, constant prem account) but I dont spend gold on every crew retraining. If this goes through expect me to be gone

    I see you recommend the Caern for the confederate missions but M53/55 with the small gun is a conferedate medal farmer. 2 games = 2 confederates.

    They more they make the game complicated the bigger gap between players of different skill will become. This is a bad idea. Not for us in the short term but it will kill wot faster as pubbies will be more angry when unis do even more dmg.

    Did it in the bulldog. After crying 2/3 games were aces. I just had bad teams. Bulldog is the way to go. 4k combined with 3 kills = ace. 
     
    Now Chimera Union 15 with honors either in the 705 or I grind till I can get the 705a and do it in that.

    EDIT: Before my comments - GET A NEW TANK for those extra 5 battles of good MM. Good MM for t7 = fighting t6 and t5 tanks = easy top guns. 

    Depends on how scummy do you feel? If a lot then Chi-ri and kill steal. I know not german but Japanese and German are both Block. If less scummy than Tiger I. Tiger I is a top gun machine.

    Yeah I may have been tilted since I may have gotten bad rng and all my games were stalemates with few damage opportunities to them instantly crashing so I had to chase but ironically I've been doing best in the most passive t10 tank - the shitbarn. 4.9k dpg session was a bit silly

    This still will be a problem. Especially for lights. If you know there is an enemy light before you in a bush line (ie. Prok) basically the one who gets spotted first dies.  So even a tiny difference means a lot

    What you are saying is basically - keep the crew as it is. The crew system currently isn't bad. Very few tanks really benefit that much over a certain skill number. WG on one hand are super afraid of lights being too good and on the other have no idea they are doing a lot to buff lights. Hell the new equipment was a huge buff to lights if you know how to use commanders vision.

    So just reshufle which crewmember gets what skills so useful number of skills is equal on all members.

    I agree the problem is weakspots going to hell. Another one is overall T10 accuracy becoming better due to handling powercreep. I think WG have painted themselves into a corner with heavies and there is no easy solution to get out of it and what's worse WG doesn't know they are in that corner. Essentially the whole game needs a total balance. All tanks.

    HE is not inconsistent you are just bad about understanding the mechanic. You are using your lack of knowledge to explain something not working. 
     
    Also so what a tortoise and type5 can deal damage with HE to other tanks? HE gimps your performance and very few players carry more than 2-5 rounds of HE outside of meming. So it's not a widespread problem. 
     
    You even admit that HE already punishes your DPM and you are already benefiting from aiming with HE when you spam it. Git Gud instead of spreading BS theories. HE has some problems but none of the ones you mention. Others did it better here.

    As a player, am I the only one that never had any issues with how HE works currently? Arty mechanics notwithstanding.

    I think it's trash. It doesn't even make sense, the shells don't explode anymore. If it does make it to live, cool, swipe that credit card and spam more gold. No one deserves what they get more than the WoT player base.
    Here's one way to fix HE.
    You drop the damage to match other shells because why the fuck are they different numbers anyway. You increase the blast radius so it can actually be used to target thin armor. Penetration drops to 0. Damage will be higher against thin armor anyway, damage spikes just make it hard to balance. And then option:
    Rework the damage calculation from (damage/2 - armor thickness) to more like (damage - armor thickness*2). Or you take the arty stun mechanic and scale it down to stuns that last 1-5 seconds or something. First option would increase overall damage, second option would instead add stun. Either way the shell would be more about aiming and knowing armor models than currently, and be more useful for smaller caliber guns.
    As it stands, there's not much reward for aiming. If you increased the blast radius, it would allow you to target, say, low on a turret and splash the top armor on purpose, or fire underneath a tank to hit the thin underarmor. Shots to thick armor would do less, while aimed shots to splash thin armor would be more consistent and do higher average damage. Right now the blast radius is so small it's a waste of time.
    The main problem with changing HE is that most of the ideas, like what WG is testing, make the shell pointless, more obnoxious, or both. No one's going to load a shell with 60 pen to try to pen tanks in the side with 80mm + 20mm tracks to do extra damage. The last thing the game needs is a shell for killing lower tier/light tanks more easily. These changes ultimately will just hurt light tanks and buff armored bricks... which is, of course, the original sandbox vision they've been pursuing for years now.

    The game has a ton of steamrolls mixed with stupid stalemates so yeah a fastish tank with 440 alpha. 10/10 idea wg. You 2 shoot the light tank that is spotting for the td nest and you roll the other team. GReat thinking.

    It's not only 5 clip and some armor. 
    Somua has:
    300 more dpm 0.5s better intraclip Better aim time Better Soft Stats Extra 1 deg of gun dep Extra 2 deg of gun elevation For that it pays with being a bit slower and having -10VR and slightly worse final acc. Somua destroys 50 100. I remember struggling witth 50 100. With Somua? 4-5k battles happen frequently and without effort.

    Not really. The tank isn't Lowe slow. It's t110e5 slow. Goes 35. Also 50 100 has too long reload and too large clip. 10s for 1 extra shell? Fuck that. Late game the extra shell is useless, early on you can't use it anyway. The gun is what makes the somua.  The gun neds a few skills but then becomes reliable
