  1. I've had success with a tanking build on the bow on ships (Iowa, NC, MO) although I currently use a concealment/AA build on them. Also the tanking build isn't as good on the Montana. The tanking build captain needs High Alert, Jack of all Trades, Super Intedent, and basics of survivability. You will also need the damage control modules and reduced fire/flooding module. This build is very effective at setting up at a key point and denying enemy advancement into a cap. One great thing about USN BB's is that you can basically make an AA/concealment build which takes the best of both b
  2. I don't have the Schnarhorst, but with the Gneisenau the torps reload is fast enough that you can send some long range torps and usually be loaded again for short range work.
  3. We've always got people to division with, and we can offer you a spot in the RUST clan if you want. Jump on our discord server. https://discord.gg/yrYabbJ
  4. They need to make it so you can choose your own individual squadron types. They can still balance with squadron size, HP, speed, etc.
  5. I ended up respecting my Gneisenau captain to preventative maintenance when I got so frustrated losing my torpedos everytime I need them in a close range brawl. I think I've only lost them once since the respect, and that was to an ifhe Belfast.
  6. No, preventative maintenance does not work on secondaries and AA. I believe @Mesrith asked a dev that specific question, and the response was no.
  7. I miss-read. I thought those were the skills he was contemplating for his 5th skill.
  8. The extra DPM from AR and BFT, more than makes up for the 2% loss from not having DE. Although if you play mostly at range you could drop LS and get preventative maintenance at tier one, which frees up a point for DE.
  9. Wow, 38k commander XP is a lot. The best I've ever done is about 30k and that was during a commander XP bonus weekend.
  10. We have four spots remaining before the clan is full.
  11. Had a match last night where my two man RUST division got put on the same team as @Mesrith and his three man Kraken division. Let's just say that the other side didn't stand a chance against five 55+% WR players. The blowout was so bad that we got one of those after battle surveys asking how satisfying the battle was. I chose neutral for my choice. I would have been more satisfied, but it's hard to farm damage with that many good players on my team.
  12. The only thing that hurts the shiratsuyu is it's slow reload. However that can be improved by BFT and adrenalin rush. Those skills can get the reload to about 6 seconds, 5.3 if you lose 99% of your HP. Turret traverse is also slow, but the tier two captain skill helps, I wouldn't take the module though since it hurts you reload.
  13. The OP mentioned something about 10v10 DD's. It wasn't you.
  14. Played my first ranked battle in the Nagato. Spotter plane is op against smoked cruisers, got two citadel's on fist salvo against a Fiji.
  15. You can do it, especially if you coordinate ship type. However, I was almost never in the same rank queue as my friends so I never bothered.
  16. Activity could be an issue for us since we are trying to build up a group that is competitive in clan battles. Although clan battles aren't out yet, so jump on our discord to talk with us and division. https://discord.gg/yrYabbJ
  17. It is a lot of fun. Also, it looks like you already have a clan, but you are welcome to join us in RUST as a fellow wotlabber.
  18. The Nagato is a better secondary ship. I set my Gneisenau up as an AA build since it rivals the best AA ships at tier 7. It's almost immune to bombers with an AA build. Personally I'll probably switch between the Nagato and Gneisenau depending on if their are CV's in queue. With regard to CA's I'll probably switch between the Fiji and Atlanta, depending on how many DD's are in queue. I don't have a Belfast and don't plan on getting one for ranked. Does anyone have thoughts on the Atlanta for ranked? I haven't seen anyone really taking about it. It should be a good DD killer with it

I agree with Mesrith. Early in a game the priority target is DD's, since killing the DD's or severely damaging them make the enemy team play more defensive or prevents them form getting caps near the end of the battle. The only exception for me is when I'm in a BB at long range. In a BB I tend to focus the CA's since that will help take heat of my teams DD's and CA's are easier to hit and kill for a BB.
  20. Clans with high prestige (skill, reputation, and trophy case) like OMNI don't need to recruit. Players come to them because they want to be on a winning team. The issue that top clans have is weeding out the purple start padders from legitimate unicum players.
  21. Found the thread. The discussion stats with Onboards post, second from the bottom, and continues into the next page.
  22. WOWS mm doesn't really allow sync ins. The mm wants to put an even number of divisions on each team. So unless there are more divisioned players in queue than individuals then more often then not the syncing divisions will be on different teams. The only time a sync is worthwhile is when you have four people that want to play together, so you sync with a three person division and an individual. You might say that they could always break into two divisions of two people. However mm treats two person divisions the same as a three person division. So a two person division
