    Keep rolling.
Before you start the game change your mind set and know you will have a chance to:
       1. an awesome game where everyone drives drives in front of your gun because your team doesn't push hard, they don't yolo, you had a good spawn and a good map without arty on the enemy team (10% chance)
       2. a shit game because your team is just too good and/or your spawn is bad as is the map (40% chance)
       3. a shit game because your team is just too incompetent and dies before you even get to any location where you could do any damage, leaving you alone against 8 enemies (50% chance)
I've grinded the T28, but ONLY doubles and ONLY if I was carried by 2 platoon mates.  Gonna do the same thing with the T95 but after a year of having it unlocked I haven't had the balls to buy it ...
Free XP to the E3?  LEL, good joke WG, good joke.

KrVa46 reacted to legofries in The overly misused phrase "noob team"
I will say my most honest opinion on this phrase:
    "Noob team".
Let's define this. This two word phrase is used when the user simply thinks his matched online strangers are incompetent, and for others, this phrase is used when the user does well on an online game, but his team doesn't.
To note, I'm not a unicum or so. I'm not even on the standards of "above average/good", but rather on the joe average side of WoT players. I do play well, but I do make some careless mistakes here and then.
But let's see some of the examples that we see very often.
Bob is a great player. Today, he went on a Jackson on a tier 6 match on a city map. He did his best for his team, supporting the flanks, doing ~1k damage, but only seeing his team disintegrate very quickly. Since he's on a Jackson, he doesn't have the potential to carry his team with his bad traverse speed and his bad armor. And so, on the last few minutes of the game, he says "fuck noob team you all suck". Let's look at the perspective of other players, but on the same match Bob is at.
Dan is an average player. He's on his tier 5 artillery, the M41 (155mm HMC). He's only played around a thousand matches. But since he was on a city map, he couldn't fire at places he wanted to, but even when he got the chance, he missed noting the horrible accuracy of his tank. He was only able to get ~200 damage done, and saw some random teammate saying "fuck noob team you all suck". Ryan is a bad player. He's on his tier 4 light tank, the M5 Stuart. He's only played ~500 matches. He tries his best to scout and to flank, using his good enough knowledge of the game, but he gets killed in the process. He, on the end of the game, sees the random teammate's message as well. Kevin is a good player. He's on his tier 6 heavy tank, the KV-2. He's playing this game for absolute fun. He always thinks that his shots will "be guided by the hand of Stalin himself", laughing every time he clicks his left mouse button. By doing this, he doesn't perform very well. But let's say Bob witnesses all of these happening. Supporting the team, he saw his artillery hitting buildings, his light tank suicide scouting and flanking, and his heavy tank missing his shots. When he says his overused statement, he insults, if not most, but all 14 members on his team. It's just wrong! But then, the question is:
    What should Bob do?
Blame his team for his incompetence, demotivating them every time he says they are shitty players, and leaving a mark of bad motivation AND bad gameplay, effectively making them having a bigger chance to do worse on the next match, or Teach them what is right, trying to tell them the difference between mud and chocolate milk, giving some small but quality advice, and making them better players with the tiny baby steps that they need? See? We can make the community better and better, little by little! It's such a simple thing WE ALL can do.
But before we make rushed conclusions/responses/comments, let's go back to Bob, and what he can do to do his part in helping the community.
Bob can tell Dan (M41) better artillery positions, and to aim his shots well, and to try his best to aim them at the tallest spot of the tanks - their turrets or their superstructures. He should also tell him that the best targets to aim at aren't the ones that give the most damage rolls; light tanks shouldn't be aimed at, even if they guarantee oneshots or severe damage. Bob can tell Dan to aim at slow, sluggish, and big heavy tanks. Bob can tell Ryan (M5 Stuart) on how to scout effectively: passive scouting - good bushes to get quality spots off, active scouting - evasive maneuvers, good points/ridge lines to peekaboo/crest, and the tanks that are good to outmaneuver and the tanks that that shouldn't be attempted to try doing to. Bob can simply tell Kevin (KV-2) to aim his shots, sidescrape, and to fall back behind a good amount of teammates to derp effectively. But yes, Bob will have problems. They may not listen to his PM's, or they may just never be able to check them out by some odd chance. But there's a chance at least one of them will. One day, they will realize what they're doing is wrong, but we have the right to tell them before that "one day" comes.
If you just want to vent your anger to prevent yourself from blowing up, then don't say noob team!
Then just say "You guys didn't play well. Try harder next time." With the above, there's a chance they will wonder why they didn't play well, and there's a chance they'll ask you for advice. The world's language doesn't revolve around insults. There's always a better way to say things, and there's always a kinder option rather than the insulting option that so much of us choose to say. Besides, it's not always your team to blame. It can also be the enemy's good play, some of your misplays, etc. If you can change your perspective to this, you can learn more and you can, at the same time, be less insulting to your team.
Wait, but yes, you can go rightfully insult. It is possible, and it is justice.
If the noob is a tier 10 with thousands upon thousands of battles, then yes, go ahead. Retards like that stay like retards and should be treated as retards. If Bob still thinks this world has no hope for him - helping at least one player is too complicated, or that he's too lazy, the least he could do is shut his mouth. As my mother always told me:
"If there's nothing good to say, don't say it. Keep quiet."
It's simple. If you can't do what a good Bob can do, then at least do what a Bob with a mouth shut can do.

Note: I'm just posting this for the community to be less harsh. People at tier 1~7 or don't have thousands of battles yet still deserve hope, and they should be respected. But if they don't like your respect or don't really improve over thousands of battles, then go ahead make your freedom of speech go blazing away.
All I want to say is that some people deserve the respect you guys are capable of doing. Not everyone is a complete retard.

Thank you for reading, and I hope you guys will learn from it.

So, I made some random comment in chat when a guy was raging during a battle.  He proceeded to message me after the battle and below is how this went.

    * The first few lines cut off.  He barged in asking me what he did to me.  I said that I was stirring the pot, and asked if he wanted juice.  He did not reply and kept calling me asshole and douche. Now the below happened.

    Maledictus (8:21:27 PM) Tea perhaps?
GojiraTX (8:21:43 PM) why are you an asshole. that's all i want to know
Maledictus (8:21:47 PM) I may have some coffee around here somewhere I am certain.
Maledictus (8:22:11 PM) I am just trying to help you. Help me help you Gojira.
GojiraTX (8:22:23 PM) i don't even know you and you're being a douche
Maledictus (8:23:01 PM) Gojira, WOT is not about killing tanks, it is about a safe space to grow! Please stop being hateful!

    GojiraTX (8:23:39 PM) trying*
    GojiraTX (8:23:47 PM) reasonable response*
Maledictus (8:24:24 PM) I would never insult anyone! I was being cordial by offering you juice, coffee or tea. You seemed upset so I thought those would help.
GojiraTX (8:25:08 PM) "mad becuase bad" implying you're perfect.
GojiraTX (8:25:19 PM) i asked if i did something to you
GojiraTX (8:25:22 PM) and i get this

GojiraTX (8:27:26 PM) i know it's a difficult task but you can atleast try
Maledictus (8:27:49 PM) I can't tell you if you want tea or coffee or nothing. If I pour the tea/coffee down your throat that would be rape. And rape is bad.

Maledictus (8:31:34 PM) Gojira? Tea? No?

GojiraTX (8:32:03 PM) at the game

And yet the fact remains, rigging matches is cheating.
It is cheating; that isn't an opinion, it's an objective fact.  It is a violation of the rules, and therefore by definition it is cheating.  There is no possible way you could argue rigging matches is not in fact a violation of the rules.
What sr360 said isn't "empty pseudo-scholarly sayings", it's a long-standing statement about what constitutes a person's character.  People who play games and try to make their own team lose to help a buddy on the other team score are as a matter of objective fact, cheating at the game and are doing something unethical.
Defending rigging matches as somehow not being a violation of the rules beggars the imagination.  The sheer levels of doublethink required would make Orwell's head spin; spinning pretzel-logic theories to somehow justify breaking the rules of the game just to get some prize you wanted is absolutely perverse.

Now, it has become indeed "work" for her (whether it's easy or not doesn't matter).  She plays and does "her" blog to make money.  The fun is gone.  And you can really tell from the way she streams and posts on her blog.
Which reminds me, her blog layout ...  Really Rita, still that default blogspot layout?  You can't tell me you can't get a decent blog layout, right??

Wait, you are describing AW aren't you??
    But seriously ...
(Don't know War Thunder, so can't make any links to that)
Sounds good.  However, care is needed that you are still able to do some damage over a certain distance.  For example: late game: heavies vs camping TD.  Your heavy has weak view range and now also weak penetration.  The TD will most probably get the first spot and can snipe more effectively (with very little RNG as you describe)
Still, I think this could be tweaked/managed.
Don't like it.  Sounds like it is also implemented in War Thunder and I think this could be problematic.  Leading targets now is already a challenge (even for better players) when aiming over a certain distance.  Imagine having to not only lead/predict on the horizontal axis, but also on the vertical axis since the shell will "drop".
    Great!

    Even greater
This imo is one of the best things in AW.  Armour can actually be used.  You can't just buy the skill.  Sure, there is still a whole lot of balancing to do, but when they get it right (and they will), it will be so much less frustrating than WOT.
Like others said, I think this could be very difficult too.  It could work, and you punish tunnel visioned opponents even harder, but this will come at a cost ...
When WG fixes the "disappearing" spotted tanks in the middle of an open field issue, I have no problem with the current spotting mechanics.  However, that IF is a big one ...
Basically the "rock-paper-scissor" principle from AW.  I love it.  Although even there it is frustrating to play with MBT's.  On "non-corridor" maps (which they have a lot of in AW, yay), you will always get outspotted.  This can get very very frustrating ...
Your arty basically is a support vehicle and not a damage dealer.  Count me in.

For me, other things that I think WG could be better/differently:
    1.  Please grow a pair and remove mods from the game.  Don't tell me there is no advantage when you have LEGAL mods installed that will: show enemy reload times, penetration values, lock autoaim on enemy whenever you right click even anywhere remotely next to him, zoom out 300m or more, zoom in 30x or more, ...
    2.  I'm still a fan of balanced MM.  Not skill -based.  Balanced.  Take a few reds from one team and drop them in the enemy team and switch them with some of the better players.  Too many battles in 15-5 or less.  Win or lose, that's not a good game, ever.  I believe that good players can still achieve higher win rates like this than better players.

I love my lights, I absolutely hate the T49.
I remember face hugging an AMX 13 75 because he yolo'd for me end game and rammed me.  Of course, I missed the shot when he was coming in.  He unloaded the clip, I had 100 HP left.  When I finished reloading, I backed up 5m and shot.  Yep, completely missed again.
And that is more the rule than the exception.  Fuck this tank.

KrVa46 got a reaction from TheQuagmire in I would like mentoring
Don't play to be unicum.  It will suck the fun right out of the game.  Play to have fun.
(of course I'm not saying that it's not fun to play at unicum levels, but don't make that your goal, that should be a consequence of you having fun).
Personally, I find WN8 too easily influenced.  Taking my example, I've gone down the last 2 months from almost 3k WN8 to 2.6k WN8 because I'm grinding new lines.  Hence, I play in low tiers and with stock tanks.  So your win rate and WN8 will suffer.  Oh well.  It beats paying WG for "free" XP .
Find a clan where you have friends.  Play together and just talk about whatever while having fun.  That's what I've been doing lately
EDIT: on your question, can't help you.  First I'm on EU and secondly you probably don't want my mentoring, lol

KrVa46 reacted to Garbad in 10 Reasons why you should be playing Armored Warfare
As some of you know, today is the final stress test for AW before it releases into open beta (effectively, live).  You can try the game for free for this weekend only, and if you do, you get a free premium tank and 7 days premium.  This is the last time you can buy the founder's packs, as well.
    1.  PvE Mode
AW has PvE missions where you and 4 pubbies capture an oil refinery protected by some bots, or something similar.  It can be easy, but its fun and a nice alternative to cutthroat pvp, especially on those days when pubbies are being retards or you are in a stock tank.  I went into AW expecting to not care, but in reality, I find I play PvE more than PvP.  I enjoy it, and it looks to be improved quite a lot.
    BLACK COMPANY, STHAP THEM!
    2.  Less RNG
When I play WOT now, it feels like I am fighting the RNG, not the opposing players.  I aim perfectly, and it flies out of my barrel at a 30 degree angle, low rolls pen, and zero damage crits.  AW has a much lower RNG factor, plus far more accurate guns and such to boot.  The final effect is a lot more skill and a lot less frustration.  I was never a big one to bitch about the RNG when I played WOT, but after seeing how much better 10% is than 25%...damn...I can't believe I put up with that much RNG for so long.  I don't think I can tolerate the RNG deciding I will miss a perfectly aimed shot ever again.
    3.  More dynamic gameplay
Tanks in AW are FAR faster, more agile, and higher DPM.  They also spot further, snipe better, and hit harder (in terms of DPM, one shots in AW are extremely rare).  This means tanks are just way more capable, especially on attack.  Tanks can relocate, flank, and push much easier. This has several positive effects.  First, its just more fun to be in a faster, more aggressive tank.  Second, camping pubs get a lot less advantage from sitting in a bush behind cap waiting to one shot someone -- that tactic ALWAYS fails in AW.  Third...it also naturally makes things like arty less cancerous.  Because you actually can dodge shells, and don't need to slowly slog through a corridor, cancer has far less of a negative impact on gameplay.
Its just more fun.  MBT, the slowest class in the game, are more agile than a T-62A, and it only goes up from there.  There is nothing equivalent to a T95 or some such shitter that spends half of the game uselessly out of position.  Again, more capacity = more change for your skill to influence games, and less time sitting around.  In WOT terms, the meta plays a lot more like the meta from 2012 (without cancer).  More open maps, more vision, more flanking, less corridor brawling, less gold2winning.  In general, higher tier MBTs have very few weak points in the front -- the game is less about knowing weak points and outbrawling and more about outmanuvering your opponents and hitting them from the side (or conversely, rolling over them with your MBTs).  And that's a good thing -- actual tank tactics, actual teamwork.
    4.  AW maps are grossly superior.
AW maps look far better -- they appear to be realistic locations/buildings/etc.  They are also much more destructible and varied.  Practically every map has close range fighting areas, some vision/sniping areas, and far more open areas (remember its a lot easier to actually move through open spaces in AW without getting instablapped).  They are also far larger.  Maps are not just tiny corridors; they feel a lot more realistic, varied, and playable.  Now, to be fair I can't comment on PvP balance.  But I'm reasonably confident they can keep that under control, and that leaves maps far better.
    5.  Less tier imbalance
In AW the final plan is to move to +1 tier MMing.  In EA, it was +3 due to low population.  But even at +3, it was better than WOT.  Because all the tanks are reasonably modern, all are pretty high capacity.  They are also pretty close to each other in HP and DPM.  On occasion, lower tier MBTs get face fucked by higher tier ones, but usually, a lower tier can hold its own just fine against a high tier.  Think T29 vs a Lowe instead of T29 vs an E-75.
    7.  Less play to win - specifically, no gold rounds
All ammo in AW is bought with credits.  Most tanks have 3 types of rounds (AP, HEAT, HE) and several levels of upgrades in each category (base AP might do 300 dmg, middle might do 310, max might to 320).  HEAT has lower penetration, but more damage and so is best against weaklings, while AP works best against hard targets and sniping but will overmatch if you hit a weakling (does less dmg).  This means picking what ammo to use is a constant juggle of penetration vs. damage (and vs. what countermeasures they have).  This is better in several ways.  In addition to the unfairness of pay2win, its just better for balance.  You know what to expect when you see a T-54, not wondering if its a useless AP player or a god mode purple stet padding heatspammer.  This means they can balance tanks better.
    8.  Inexpensive to play
Premium account costs a bit less in AW than WOT (~$10 a month), but that's just the beginning of the story.  Gold goes way further in AW.  Premiums cost 3750 gold (not 12000), 1 gold converts 125 exp (not 25), etc.  So spending $50 in AW gets you a lot more stuff than WOT.  This is obvious enough why -- they want to win away your business, and that's all good for us.
    9.  Modern Tanks
I enjoy history, especially WW2.  But WOT isn't really a WW2 game.  A lot of the tanks are old, worthless shitter bad designs that are in just for curiosity (Wargaming are true tank lovers, gotta give them that).  That's all good, except when it comes time to grind out french heavies and you have to play through hour after hour in these shitlord turds fighting cold war pay2win platoons.  AW is almost completely modern tanks.  The majority are still in service, and that means they are interesting.  New things like missiles, APS, ERA, and so on will affect gameplay.  Not to mention you can turn on your headlights.
    10.  It puts some pressure on those shitlords at Wargaming.
Let's introduce those communist bastards to the miracle of capitalism.  Competition forces change and improvement.  In empowers the community to get what they want.  You've already seen WG start jumping -- fixing arty, dropping the "working as intended" arrogance, trying to fix what players want, etc.  Its no coincidence that WG started sweating once AW starting winning customers -- they knew they could safely antagonize you before, because you had no choice.  Now you do, and either way, that means that the more AW is successful the more WG will be forced to improve to stay alive.
So let me put it like this -- spend this weekend trying out AW, not WOT.  Toss some money at AW, if you think its worth it.  Either you will find a new game that you enjoy or WG will shit their pants and scramble to make a game you enjoy even better.  Either way, you win.  But you won't win if AW fails -- WG will go right back to mocking and ignoring you.  So even if you plan on staying with WOT, its in YOUR interests to give AW a serious look.
Now lets make that smug bald bastard sweat, friends.  That alone is worth my entertainment money.
    ___________________________________________________________________
And to be fair, here are the three biggest knocks against AW:
    1.  Arty is still cancerous.
AW arty has low alpha, but it can still hit tanks pretty much at will.  It still has the same annoying effects -- bypass armor, angling, and skill, force people to hump walls, random, low skill gameplay that can't be countered, etc.  In short, it still sucks.  Why they insist on having it, I'll never know.  But still, AW arty is low dpm, low alpha, and larger maps combined with much more dynamic gameplay means arty has a lot less negative impact on gameplay.  Plus the community hate and shun cancers, so its a tolerable level.
    2.  Grinds can be very long
Stock tanks are not bad in AW.  Think of stock as uncustomized, but not really shit.  They still have adequate pen, for example.  But the grind in high tiers is very long -- longer than WOT by far.  I think this is their money model -- encourage people to use gold for free exp where WOT tries to make gold converting to credits/buying prems.  Its fine if you enjoy the tanks, but it can feel really long if you don't (swingfirecough).
    3.  Sunk Cost
I get it.  You have 20k games in WOT.  You have great crews, tons of tournament gold, a good, active clam, friends to play with.  You know all the tanks, you have most of the good lines unlocked...why go play another tank game?  First off, because its fun.  If you don't enjoy playing tank games why are you playing tank games?  If you seriously are playing to maximize your stats or whatever, you are mentally ill and need a wakeup call -- one way or the other, no one will give a fuck about your wn8 in 3 years.  Stop stressing about it and doing unfun things to get some stupid score.  On the other hand, if you actually enjoy tanks...what does it matter if you enjoyed another tank game before AW?  All that matters is that AW is worth playing, or not.  I think its worth playing, and so I ditched my WOT account with 30k games, 9 months premium, tons of gold, etc.  AW is simply better, and playing a worse game just because I have time invested in it makes no sense.

    ____________________________________________________________
So there's my sales' pitch.  Give AW a look, imo.
P.S.  Silentstalker, I expect a generous gold payment on release.  Thx.

I don't use any AV.  I've set up a PXE server at home and I just re-ghost my PC every week.
30 minutes later I've got a new clean install.  No AV, reg cleaner, spam filter, add blocker, ... software to slow my PC down
All important stuff is done from a RedHat Linux.

Quicky thinking real life scenario?  OH MY GOD!!  Imagine Kim Jong-Un at head of the most powerful military in the world ...
Me thinks we are all seriously f***ed ...
But let's imagine a little further.  If North Korea would be the USA, the 25 million North-Koreans would have 3.8 million square miles to populate.  On average, that would mean 6,5 people per square mile.  The city of Los Angeles is 502 square miles.  So in LA, we would find 3263.  That's what?  1 city block of people?
Now, if I were governer I would create a whole lot of race tracks to have fun on (kart, car and bike nut myself ;)).  Of course, with just over 3000 workers, I don't think work would get done very fast, lol.
And the states?  Well, 325 million on 46.500 square miles (not keeping rough terrain in mind).  That about 7000 people per square mile.  That would be quite a traffic jam and a long wait in the starbucks in the morning.
I would propose to build quite a few Burj-Khalifa like skyscapers.  Of course, that is until Kim decides to launch a few rockets again ...

Now I was wondering, what would happen if humans could outrun cheeta's?

I remember face hugging an AMX 13 75 because he yolo'd for me end game and rammed me.  Of course, I missed the shot when he was coming in.  He unloaded the clip, I had 100 HP left.  When I finished reloading, I backed up 5m and shot.  Yep, completely missed again.
And that is more the rule than the exception.  Fuck this tank.

KrVa46 got a reaction from lt_lolcat in Artillery Rebalance - Suggested by SS
Came across this thread going through the older topics on the forum.  Now that WG has confirmed (LOL) that they will rebalance the arty, I wonder if they actually listen to some player suggestions (double LOL), of which there are plenty here in this topic.
When is this arty rebalance supposed to happen? 2016?
Or wait, probably right after the changes WG has already confirmed:
      - havok
      - multi-core processing
      - new crew skills / 6th sense on radio guy by default
      - tanks flipping over
      - destructable buildings
      - EU tech tree
      - ammo nerf / premium ammo changes
      - ...
