there is literally one of these games pop up every couple of months on steam. the devs usually dont finish the game once their alpha buy in pay comes. approach this kinda stuff with caution. the steam early access market is a shady place.

my advice is if the developer is unknown/unproven to finish games dont be a sucker and pay for early access. keep your money until the game has a stable release

    Warz anyone?

  2. Well fellas, i made the purchase anyone wanting to play the game with me hit me up :)

That being said if my old PC can't run it well enough itll be a moment before i can play it lol. My system specs seem good enough for the most part exceeding the recommended stuff so it shouldn't be an issue.

So i downloaded the game and it plays really well for an alpha survival game, forest and the like have me at a min of 40 fps(mid range settings for the lowest quality) My GPU is likely the only reason why i have to run on those settings :).

  3. I've been interested in choosing one of these games recently... was looking at Rust, H1Z1 or even DayZ.. Which would you recommend? If I pick up Rust I'll be glad to play.

H1z1 will be f2p at some point, so i wouldn't buy it and is currently infested with hackers(youtube evidence and the like) Dayz mod is great spent hours apon hours playing it, the stand alone is lack luster to say the least.(granted i haven't played it just going by youtube videos)

I've been looking at Rust for a while now but haven't gotten it for the same reason as you (nobody to play with).  I'm curious to know if other people have played it and what their experience has been.

this is a review on steam, i think it sums up what i have seen on youtube nicely

A game where you can build a nice house, and look out you window only to see a naked man chasing another naked man with a rock.

Rate 420/10 would be naked again

Also, something too take into consideration, the game seems too have some performance issues from people with good rigs, will it ever be fixed? idk, but i think that is the common theme in survival games atm.

  4. With recent changes to Rust, and the way the game looks in its current version i have decided too buy the game. But like most survival games Rust is better played with a group.

I have lots of experience with Dayz and a fair amount in 7d2d, if that helps make the choice any easier.

  5. So reboot everything on the network.  meaning Modem, Router, Switches, and shutdown pc turn them off.  then once everything is off count to 5 and turn the modem on.  Wait 5 seconds turn the router on.  and so on down the line till you get to your computer.  that should fix it.  I ran into the issue a while back and that is what i did to get it back.

and technically this is a DNS issues so you can call you ISP to help fix it.  Though that is a hassle in itself.

When you say call "ISP" you mean raj from tech support right?

  6. One thing that is an issue with Warpack etc is that unless there is a reasonably study done on it, nobody really knows how well it can improve (even possibly worsen) performance. We can guess based on game knowledge but they are still guesses.

The problem then arises of how does one test this without being banned and/or feeling bad for cheating. There isn't a useful test server where this stuff could be worked out and there isn't likely to be one any time soon.

what if we had an average player with similar recents, set up a reroll acc on both NA and EU(since they don't care) and see what the changes are. I still think it is a shitty thing too do but, i think we are all curious if the stats would change at all.

  7. It's very hard to detect cheating when you're actually playing the game because you're obviously concentrating on playing the game. As you say, you suspect it when something unusual happens, but you invariably put it down to RNG rather than put your tinfoil hat on.

However it's easy to detect aimbot use by watching other people's replays (or your own with a free cam mod), and a random selection of mid-tier replays from wotreplays.org will show that these mods are unfortunately relatively common.

Can you still beat these folks if you're actually good at the game? Yes, of course you can, but that's not the point.

As you, say, perhaps. Would I feel better about the game if people were punished for cheating? Absolutely yes.

I don't think WG is actually the type too simply ban people for it. if they where too do anything they would just make x information unable too be obtainable by a script. It would be alot easier imho, and alot more effective or at least for a while.

I think rigging stuff is alot more toxic and personally makes me not want too spend money or simply go too another game.

  8. The Patton doesn't really appeal to me anymore now that this thing is out. But the M46 is not the Patton I'm after, so I need to finish it anyway. I also don't get the hype about this things ammorack compared to the Leo1, since it has frontal fuel tanks instead.

There are 2 things that help prevent fires. Preventative m. and auto fire x. There is only one thing that prevents ammo racking.

  9. It does beg the question as to whether a player is good and not using warpack, or average but using it.

Simple example would the sort of battle awareness the lasers provide. It can take thousands of battles to develop that sort of awareness. I'm not brilliant in this regard, and often realise too late someone is looking at me. That would sure as shit improve my game.

Fair enough i suppose, but iirc lasers is model only (ie it just changes all the tank models) so there is no way too stop it unless they block all model changes. Personally i wouldn't mind it. but there are alot of players would miss that moddability. The script mods, like broken shit on mini map however could be blocked.

  10. It suggests that if they weren't worth buying, they wouldn't be charging money for them.

But that is only one group of people. Cars are popular, and there are alot of car companies that make them. There are cheats for other games, dayz comes too mind that there are a metric shit ton of cheat packs being sold for that game. This one only has one(ik ik there are some scams on yt that just steals your acc info)

So idk. I would like too see stuff, like fame rigging, and PM mission rigging, and botting taken more seriously. Cheat mods are the least of our worries as far as unfair play.

  11. i'm pretty sure warpack is subscription based so not sure how much of a scam it is if people continue to pay for it. But again, i doubt they are going to publish their subscriber base.

Well i just went too thier website(on my old shit phone lol) and the features are exactly the same as the free mods. That in its own right is a scam. But it appears they have great customer support? idk didnt look long. But since there is only warpack, correct me if i am wrong for illegal cheat packs that are sold, does that not tell us that they aren't worth buying?

  12. As you point out the impact of a lead indicator, and or actual aim bot would be far greater to WoWS given the mobility of ships vs tanks. Which isn't to say they wouldn't help in tanks.

Taking a simple 'auto aim vs aim bot' scenario. Engage bog standard auto aim, pop over crest, take the shot the second there is a line, then pull back into cover. Apply an aim bot to that scenario and it would be fairly advantageous.

But again, i am not really trying to establish the potential benefits of cheating, the point is trying to gauge both public opinion, and give an indication of whether WG's handling of the issue is working.

Well that is my point, albeit a poorly articulated point. If there was a mod that was worth using and risking your account, it would be prudent for WG too do something hardcore about it, like that script check denier thing. That same aimbot that i mentioned that was used in warpack, would be so bad in that same instance, i would prefer the enemy too do that. What i am getting at, is that the cheat mods aren't OP enough for WG too waste their time on it. I am not trying too defend the illegal cheater mods or anything, i just don't think that there is a point too banning( like making the script block for it) something that hurts the user of the mod more then it can hurt the people its supposed too hurt. Granted i am certain that there is a mod so OP that it hasn't been released for free. (warpack is the only non-bot that i have seen sold, and it is essentially just scam.(like fucking really a full modpack for shit that more then likely will cause you more harm then good, that forces you too pay for it.)

I do recall that way back when, there was a script that would automatically dump you out of que if statistically you weren't likely too be bottom tier. WG then changed that so the client couldn't see what tiers where being played. The guy never released said script afaik. That is more the stuff that is actually an advantage and needs too be worked out and such.

  13. Again, having only seen screenshots, i thought the bot was programmable in terms of how quick, or when it switches. But anyway, any aim bot beyond auto aim strikes me as over simplifying things for a player.

I gather there is already one of those for WoWS. I would love it to force WG's hand on mod control.

That aim bot just puts a thing infront of the ship(think GF arcade flight battles) for you too aim at, i guess that would be OP as fuck for Wot too, if you could configure it yourself for your personal tastes and ping. And the previuos aimbot i was referring too was the one specifically from warpack and i saw it in  YT video. I haven't used one, and there have only been a few that i have seen in general(plazmakeks wot is the only place i have seen them akaik) and they are all more or less the same shit. I think it was LSDmax that ripped it off from warpack, then everything past that has been a ripoff from LSDmax. I am sure an exceptionally skilled player could use some of the more feature rich aimbots too their advantage. IE i know there is one that can lead, but it needs too be activated then only work on right click of the player. Same one would have a feature too aim for predetermined spots. So if you where really really good you could use those features when they would work better then your own reflexes. But back too the one from wows, i think in retrospect that it would only be game breaking in Wot if it worked for arty, since that is one of the only tanks that you could really aim at the lead indicator faster then you could accurately guesstimate.

And really the aimbots i have seen(not saying i have seen them all) are really so bad that i doubt there would be any point too using them. Broken shit on mini map could be really OP in a competitive scene or when there are only a few enemies remaining. But lets be honest, don't most people avoid breaking shit so arty/observant players dont see it break anyways?  I guess there are points when you have too break something too go somehere but i don't ever recall something happening in such a way that i felt the enemy knew i was comming before they spotted me/got shot by me. Well, there was this one time before there was a banned mod list where the enemy team in a team battles said they where running warpack, and came right too our camping spot and that seemed fishy.

  14. From what i understand they can lead targets... undoubtedly not at top player level, but i'd wager it would be far better than most.

Im not sure what aimbots are out there, but specifically the one from warpack, puts the user at such a disadvantage i would prefer my enemy use them. The leading could be usefull i suppose if you have sub 50 ping, and the aim for weakspot function is just fucking shit(aims for weakspots but snaps too different ones so fast that your reticle is full bloom) There are other aimbots of similar description, im sure there are better ones too be had, but i don't have all day too search YT for cheats for wot lol. I guess if there was one that just lead, and accounted for ping, that would be OP as fuck, and i agree it would be game breaking.

  15. So you feel any mods - regardless of legality - are ok because they are client side?

Regardless, the point is how they are tracking with time. Ie, is the issue more pronounced now? In your case if you feel they are ok, then respond accordingly.

I can only speak for NA, but the cheating isn't super obvious or its so well hidden, that it is hard too tell from skill. I have seen fucking terrible players guns and turret move like the aimbots on youtube and stuf like that, but since it isn't enough too make them not shit i dont care.

Also, i know WG's action against cheats is rather hard too believe, but people on NA do get banned for it. A few patches ago i was in a clan that was doing a skirmish with a really odd lineup, so we where working with some friends in the same skirmish that was helping us choose the best line up and we did some mock up skirmishes agasint each other just cuss. When the skirmish went live, one of the fellas on our friends team was running a cheat of some sort(no idea and i didn't know at the time what cheat it was even if i thought too ask) and some enemy team reported them in a ticket, and WGNA asked for every ones on both teams replay, and the python log(and some other things i don't remember) their team was DQ'd and the fella running the cheat was banned(no idea for how long, he isn't in my friends list anymore.) SO at least in the NA server there is real risk too your account too run the cheat mods, that don't give a great advantage that most people would even know they are using it.

Now things like rigging and fame farming, hasn't been prolific afaik on the na server, i was in the last campaign and bagged myself a 907. I am a truly average player(don't let my recents fool you) and my clan was about the same. If NA farmed fame like the SEA server base did, i doubt i would have gotten the tank.

Personally untill someone actaully makes an aim bot that aims and leads like a super uni instead of a mouse pad using shitter, i really can't say i give 2 shits on the mods the enemy team is using. WGNA has made legal the only mod i felt was cheating lol (OTM reload, like really WTF? what fucking logic makes that okay.)

  16. I knew that you weren't knocking me or my clan. I get what you are saying but I was just wandering how the bigger clans started out recruiting and if they might have some advice. Again, thanks.

Having been in a variety of clans, from worse then yours too ION,i can comfortably say that you are in a very contested niche group for average players where there are so many rddt clans and the like that take the reasonably active community of said skill level. The first real clan(that wasnt just a tag) that i joined was people that just grabbed new players(you avoided that). Then i went too a clan similar too the one you have now. Went too inactive and left because i felt the spot could be used for folks that where active. Then i joined a seal clubbing clan that dabbled in skirmishes. Made a friend via modding community, and joined RN-R, and that merged into -TRN- then when it exploded i joined DEMI, then ION.

RN-R/-TRN- was a couple of people that got bored with -G- and similar clans left and made that little community so they brought alot of talent and since they all had friends in the modding community there was alot of people wanting in. That is how i think most of the big clans get people.(not really mod related, but friends leaving X clan too make X clan with X ideas)

Recent events with BT getting attacked by several powers and hanging on made them respectable too the people in their talent group and therefor attracted alot of attention. Like their recruiting went way up.

ESPRT, a relatively new top 10 clan was made from C100, and alot of the great players from -TRN-, they all knew each other too some extent, and hade help from what i understand from big clans.

ION is the sum of TESLA, AMPED, and the active talented players of WATT. I got in because i had friend in there already.

So in other words the big(i think you mean top 10-150 clans, correct me if i am wrong) already had lots of friends and such that wanted something different or wanted a special theme. If you mean a big clan just by how many people are in it, i really do not know that sorry. If you wanted too get your clan bigger numerically you have too either merge with a smaller clan that is in the same boat as you(there are alot out there man) have a teamspeak(there are other options, TS3 is just the most common imho) Or find a niche that wasn't being filled by aforementioned niches version of RDDT-1234567954323456.

A quick example, DOOP is a casual, social clan that is based around futurama. Another example is 4HIM a religious clan(no idea if they do CW or anything like that).

You will also notice the attitudes of the big clans, or persona. CHAI is Chinese excellence for example. Great players with lots of CW experience, that do great in campaigns. But they also speak Chinese, so they fill 2 niches. They even have their own stereotypes, that make them standout: CHAI sniper.

There are options hoss, you just have too find your niche. As the previuos poster said, you are currently a small clan that is trying too fill a niche that has literately hundreds of clans that are doing the same thing. I for one, try too find clans that i am the average in, that the people in it mesh with me. If we do CW we better be decent at it, or if we focus on skirmishes there better be 2.5k gold per week. If we platoon there better be people on grinding the same crap i am.

I hope it helps buddy, you could pm some of the commanders of the big clans, and you might get some better insight just keep in mind they may not want too help out. Something too keep in mind, if you get the 15 or so people in your clan too deeper green and find success in some form or another(campaign reward tanks, large tourneys, or you get a rep for a good time and keep the bad stat/attitude players out) you wont have too many issues.

  17. I saw you in a match recently. You played well. Oh and as for clan commanders who trained people? I probably had the best out of the bunch for starting.

When you say play well, do you mean i got one shotted by arty? or was it that stupid match where i did, 1.8k spotting and 8.8k damage in my 50b and failed too get ace tanker? cuss i wonder who set that base line and with how much damage.

Wow. All those "field commanders" screwing new players over. Both sad and funny as hell...

I honestly think they prey on new players since some of the new players do not know any better. For what goal i haven't the slightest idea.

  18. Congrats on your welding job! Please accept this unwanted advice from an old NDT inspector. Practice, Practice, and Practice some more. Imho welding is an art and if the artist is skilled you can create a masterpiece every time. Honestly I wish you the best, good luck!

Thanks, i started the welding program in highschool(if there are any highschool students that are college bound reading this, fuck highschool, and just take college classes the moment you can, there are a shit ton of programs that will pay for your classes if not your own school district.) became a work study for my instructor, realized i was pretty good at welding, and spent all of my free time in the shop. I was unable too continue the work study program in college( my mother worked there, and the lady that was supposed too okay my continuation of said program didn't like my mother for reasons im not sure anyone understands). I have several nifty little projects i made in college that i will post at some point just cuss, i didn't realize there would be welders of any description on this site, silly me.

  19. I was worried this will be one of those "realized I didn't make an intro after 1k posts" threads, good to know this is not one.

I have been meaning too make one, but i wasn't sure how long i would be lurking in wotlabs. I was well aware of this website for a very long time, it was just recently that i actually made my account. I was a little wary of some of the negative comments made in my direction by purples (shockingly i get trashed talked too by shitters more often then <average players) Recent events including the way m1ster_rogers was handled i have decided i like this joint.
