    Short answer:
Yes. It was really easy to get satisfaction out of WoT in the beginning, but it got harder and harder. Winning ESL games and playing WoT in a proper competitive setting with casting scratched that same itch pretty well when there was some real life consequences of your performance. The pressure wasn't all good though, just as you got those same highs from winning organised games, as the losses beat you up worse than normal. After a bit of much needed insight I realised I wasn't really enjoying winning anymore, I was just addicted to it. I've always been. It wasn't actually WoT I liked either after a while, I just liked being good which is why I struggled so much with quitting.
I don't get anywhere near as much fun out of anything competitive as I used to, as WoT's kinda done a number on me there. It's still very engaging though. I enjoy pushing myself instead because that's a source of feel-good that'll never run out as I really do enjoy noticing myself improve. The click moments are my pleasures.
Long answer: (read short answer first though)

HE shits on you regardless of what you play, but if you check what tanks were the most played last ranked season S. Conquer and 430U were by far the most powerful/played, maybe contested by 907?. When it comes to heavies, CW was dominated by SC and 277 until Chieftain(which should probably be nerfed a bit) was released. SC has enough DPM to trade 2 for 1 in most cases, you are not meant to contest other hulldown tanks, but having APCR as prem allows you to track & damage pretty easily, locking down tanks or trading favorably without much retaliation besides once again HE garbage. Also unlike the other hulldown tanks, SC has the best gun handling by far, even sniping is still good and you have can fight hulldown at +150m you are gonna win most of the time, because roof is not easy to hit and your gun is more accurate with a higher RoF. Think of 215B, back then we had a tank that was already strong but lacked armor, all it's playstyle was around its gun. The replacement is the exact same but with much better armor, no drawbacks at all.

As one last thing, post 1.0 maps are quite cancer for heavys since WG thought they needed to either give a camping spot  or change close quarter combat areas to every single reworked map i.e. Erlenberg, Pilsen, Fjords, Fisherman Bay, Siegfried Line. Being aggressive with a heavy is worse than has ever been because of arty, excessive amount of TDs and HE garbage.

sorry dude but this is a case of you not knowing how to play it and nothing else
it has been and will still be the strongest tech tree t10 in the game since it's release because it can reliably hit shots at any range, hulldown and reliably pixel snipe and sidescrape while being able to fire back against anything but HE and 160mm+ guns

that it gets spammed by arty a lot is not a solution or a situation that makes the tank any worse
any tank is dogshit when it gets spammed by arty, and you solve it by more defensive positioning which is what the sconq is so strong at anyway

i think ur not valuing the ability to hold any position and remain insanely hard to push enough, sconq is honestly just as defensive of a tank as an e3 and it doesnt work very well for pushing but it does work insanely well for poke trades and farming tanks trying to push into it and that's how you play it
it's one of the tanks that benefits more from playing losing engagements rather than winning ones and while it's not a concept a lot of people play towards this is where you see people get absolutely insane averages on the sconq
the chieftain is a decent example of a tank that trades that same defensive ability for a more aggressive one because of the gun handling tradeoff for better mobility

it is actually impossible to push an sconq at 300m unless your entire team is doing it with you, that's why it's so strong

You might all be complaining about it, or find it a stupid addition to the game - but I think it is good to see that WG is trying out new monitisation models. Alternatively they would pump out more stupid OP premium tanks. The more cosmetic monitisation we get, the better. All of the whales can get a crew with Mr Lobster, Unicorn and Tomato and be all happy and cheerful about that, while WG makes some easy money.
I also like the idea of the blueprints. Yes the RNG is probably going to be for lines you dont want/need, but the alternative is nothing at all. And who knows, if you get a "free" tank in a line, you might want to try it out for the shits and giggles. I know that I will be doing that if I get enough blueprints for lines I haven't completed yet.
Before people counter by saying that they rather saw WG focus on balancing the vehicles already in the game: I am quite confident that the people drawing unicorn masked men are not the same people figuring out how to rebalance different tanks. So the two processes are not mutually exclusive.

I actually quite like these changes, its WG thinking out of the box for once.
Yes the gun handling of these tanks is shit, BUT, buffing the gun handling starts encroaching on the French heavy autoloaders (and to an extent the medium autoloaders generally).
IMO the issues with the Swedish heavies were a combo of shit factors.
Bad pen + bad handling + slow clip + long reload.
You'd miss and bounce a few shots, the target would pull back before your clip had finished and then you couldn't do sweet FA for 30s.
I had some good results in the Emil 2 when grinding it, but by DPG started dropping below 3k because the thing just couldn't keep up with the pace of the game, you'd trundle to your position, get hull down, clip someone out, either the combo of slow clip speed or gun handling/pen would mean at least 1-2 of the shots does no damage, you go for the reload and by the time you were going through your next clip half your team is dead.
The gun handling on the T57 is a LOT worse than the Kranvagn, but it spits out damage so quickly it doesn't matter and at close range you absolutely brutalise people.
So this will work in a similar way, the pen is still poor so that is an issue, but you'll be popping out 1.3k damage in 5.5s and reloading ready to go again in 20s.
Less painful at medium to long ranges because you have the ability to put out for more shots so more will stick and more brutal at close range
It also moves the Kranvagn away from having to be in some awkward place between the the T57 and 50b.

I seriously don't get the issue with boosts. The moments I remember the most in WoT esports are when Applewow got stuck on Cliff and when one russian guy countered a boost vs CanadianImpact in Steppes. It really gave to me more variety to all the maps. I really miss 2014-2016 WoT

pff  because old prok and mali were clearly different due to the map design and not because of the meta. BULBA is back and you already became a fucking egotistic bitch?. Oh wait, you already were. Come the fuck on, at least bring some fucking arguments to your shit, you talk like if you knew the game better or if you were a better than me when reality is quite the opposite, not even taking into account that you play with 100-120 ping less than I do with probably +100 FPS and you can barely keep up with me. The viability of map positions gets reduces when the meta shifts off to tanks that can do almost everything well. Do I need to remind you of a map that had a lot of playable positions and still got removed because pubbies complained? Stalingrad. Pure corridors but so many of them that you could always look for a different position to shoot X tank. Sure it wasn't good with lightly armored tanks, but you were far from useless.
