  1. i7 6700 @ 4.0 until I get better cooling 16 Gb Corsair Vengeance @ 3k Mhz MSI GTX 980 Ti Gaming 6G GPU Asus Z170-A motherboard 500 Gb Samsung 850 Evo SSD 2 Tb Seagate Barricuda HDD Asus 27" 1080p IPS monitor (stepping up to 1440 soon) Old school Logitech G15 keyboard Razer Deathadder mouse Runs pretty much anything at maxed out graphics setting at about 100-120 fps. Huge upgrade for me.
  2. Finally got my new PC up and running. Here are the specs:

CPU: Intel Core i7 6700k, 4.0 GHz, GPU: MSI GTX 980 Ti Gaming 6G, Memory: 16 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4, Mobo: ASUS Z170-A, PSU: EVGA 850W 80+ Platinum (fully modular), Cooling: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, Storage: Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB SSD (adding in a 2 TB HDD soon).

Let me know what you think!  I was able to get 120 fps at maxed out setting across the board. (I know, not too impressive for WoT, but better than the 40 I was getting before!)

The PSU was bought for when I get my 2nd 850 Ti, and the cooling is just a stopgap for now until I change my case and go with a custom water loop I'm working on piecing together. Thanks for the feedback!

  3. I find myself forced to play solo, pretty much exclusively, mostly due to time zone. I live in Guam, and so my normal times to be online are at approximately 1 AM west coast time. Been playing mostly 9's lately (M46 Patton, Lorr 40t, E75) to finish those grinds, but I have plenty of 10's to use if that's more desirable. I consider myself average/above average, and really am just looking for somebody that wouldn't mind platooning and maybe teaching me a few things. Hit me up in game or message me on here if you might be interested. Thanks!
  4. 3k might be hard for me cuz bad, but I just got the top turret on it today and WOW what a difference. Aside from armor, I can't really find much wrong with this thing.
  5. I'm late to the game on this tank (and it's late here incidentally) so I'll keep this short. This tank is amazing! I didn't even purchase it until I had enough free xp for tracks and top gun on it, just to make it playable. As probably many before me have said, the aim time and snap shotability (is that a word?) make this tank for me. I don't have the top turret yet, or BIA on my crew, but I'm already averaging 2600 WN8 in it (roughly 2.4k damage per game), which is great for me even though it's a pretty small sample size. Just my two cents on what may become one of my favorite tanks in the game.
  6. When you use a 2hr xp booster and then the servers go down for maintenance....

  7. Fascinating stuff. I toured the Missouri when I was in Pearl Harbor for some training a few months back and some of this stuff is still onboard.
  8. True stuff. The ingenuity of it is impressive though. The fact that someone (or, most likely, a group of someones) figured out how to do rather complex calculations and make an extremely fast moving object hit another moving object with all of those variables, using nothing but mechanical components, is awesome. I geek out on this stuff anyway since I've been around the Navy my whole life.
  9. Born in Kentucky but live in Guam so: 7,674 mi/12350 km
  10. It's cool to see how little has changed! Much of these same principles still apply to modern Naval firepower, just in a bit more automated fashion.
  11. http://wotreplays.com/site/2449139#fisherman_s_bay-onlytoughonline-e_75 Right off the bat, two tanks drowned themselves in the first minute of the game. So, automatically, I know how this one is gonna go. My question to you guys is, could this one have been salvaged? I still did almost 3.5k damage, but I was so mad to see these asshats kill themselves that I just tried to win my side of the map. A few questions: 1) Could this one be saved? 2) If not, where could I have gone to at least farm more damage make them pay for the win? 3) How would you have dealt with this? TIA- only
  12. http://wotreplays.com/site/2416241#fjords-onlytoughonline-jagdpanzer_e_100 This one frustrated me for some reason. I did ok, but just ok. A few mistakes i noticed immediately: 1) Terrible shot selection on the E100 in the beginning, coupled with taking a couple hits from the IS4 that were unnecessary. 2) Not flexing back soon enough? I've been debating this one because I wanted to make sure we cleared that flank out first so I didn't get shot from behind. The rest, I don't know. I felt pretty helpless honestly. Cancer hits every 5 seconds it seemed like, along with my team melting around me and a T28 Proto that wanted to go face to face with a 110E3. Let me know what you guys think, because this one seemed like it could have been winnable, and I could have done more.
  13. For what it's worth, I wouldn't consider this a waste of time. If you grind during the on track event, you will only boost your crew/tanks/module grind more than if you waited until later. If I didn't already have the IS-7, I would be grinding constantly for it, just because the rewards are pretty decent, and the tank isn't too bad either. The E5 is pretty boss from what I see (I'm also working on that grind), but it won't hurt you to just get your x2's each day and focus your effort on the on-track. Just my opinion though, better players may have something more valid. GL;HF
  14. This is actually something I didn't consider as I have a crap ton of it in my depot from various events. Fuel tanks on this seem reasonably reliable and I'll probably give this a shot. I'm fairly sure I'll adapt my style accordingly, it's just taking a few more games than I'm used to. Just a different ball of wax compared to the Centurion AX and my Russian meds. Thanks for the input everyone!
  15. I just don't get this tank. I recently started grinding this line again after a long break, and this thing just doesn't click with me. I'm terrible anyways, which is probably a large part of it, but it can't be everything. Right now I am running Rammer, GLD and Vert Stab on it, which seems like a logical choice given the crap gun-handling it seems to have. My question to the community is: What is the optimum way to play this thing? I know it's not a brawler, much more snipery (is that a word?) and can't take a hit at all it seems like. Any input would be great. TIA!
  16. Fair enough critique, and thanks for not destroying me lol! I watched this one again recently trying to dissect my mistakes and realized I was pretty damn lucky to even live through the 120 encounter considering he completely ignored me the whole time. I also noticed the A line push I should have done, considering all the nice little hills I would have had available to me. I'm pretty much shit at this game anyhow, so most of these things go unnoticed to me during an actual game. I get lucky every now and then with a good one, but can't ever seem to put it all together consistently. Thanks again for the input! -only
  17. http://wotreplays.com/site/2287882#murovanka-onlytoughonline-amx_13_75 Here is the link to the replay. I think I could have carried this one to victory, but a few mistakes probably cost me, notably at the end, but I found myself in a terrible spot. Thoughts on the game as a whole? TIA, only
  18. Completely donked a game in my E4 today when Guam's "High Speed" internet booted me off in the middle of a winnable 4v1 matchup. :(

  19. Fair enough. I guess a more accurate statement would have been that the Cent is more similar to the T9 and T10 tanks than the T7 tank I suppose. You lose some of that insane gun depression, get a whole lot bulkier, and gain a much punchier gun.
  20. I'll chime in a bit on this topic, I guess, since I've been playing British Meds for a while. 1st, like was already said, the Cent. Mk. 1 plays nothing like the Comet. It's really an intro to the rest of the line. Use your gun depression to poke ridges and support your team. And, remember, you have no armor (like, none, really). After Mk. 1, the 7 is fantastic. Awesome gun at tier 9, decent power to weight for hills, but still the same huge profile. And then, the glory that is the AX. This tank fixed almost everything wrong with the 4202 and kept what was great about it (mostly). 2nd, you're right in the middle of the best part of the whole British Medium line so don't give up. From tier 6 on up, the only kinda stinker is the Mk. 1 (which isn't bad, just, meh).
  21. I'm sure others will have much more insight into this than I will as I am just a lowly greenie (read: baddie), but I'll give it a go. Pregame, I'm looking at the lineups. Do they have a heavier lineup and I'm in a lightly armored Med. or a LT? Better not go too close to the normal heavy spots. Are they light and fast and I'm in a JP E-100? Better keep an eye on my flank and try to quickly crush the little bit of opposition I'm seeing in front of me. As with all of this, flexibility is the key. Don't get so stuck in that you don't have an out to flex and help out a flank. Mini-map wise, I look at it pretty much every couple seconds unless I am actively shooting or being shot at. Still trying to get those good "Purple" habits, but they're coming along. I am always on the lookout for isolated tanks that can be quickly removed from the map, especially in something like my 50B. Again, take this for what it's worth coming from a fellow greenie. GLHF
  22. Will definitely try that! Was also thinking about running food too since I have some in the depot, what do you think?
  23. Thanks for the feedback! I knew I made plenty of mistakes and noted a few when I rewatched this replay, but it helps so much to have a few outside opinions. The T30 definitely could have died earlier if I was smart enough to let him shoot first, hindsight 20/20 and all. As far as the Leo, I just noticed that he was a bit isolated and thought I could probably clip him out. The 103 just didn't want to be penned for some reason, but the overmatch on the turret probably would have dropped him a lot sooner, opening up a flank for me to work with. Anyways, if anyone else cares to drop some knowledge on me, plz let it fly!
  24. As the title suggests, I was so close to being able to carry this one in my 50B. Had some really dumb trades at the beginning, but as for the rest, need some pointers. I definitely haven't mastered this tank yet, but I'm getting the hang of it. Be honest, I can take it. Equipment on this is GLD, Optics, and Vert Stab in case you wanted to know ahead of time. http://wotreplays.com/site/1902433#self
  25. A couple things to start out. 1.) I am not interested in WN8 padding or getting to the purple level. 2.) I live in Guam, which may make platooning a little difficult, but I can be a little flexible, especially on weekends. What I am looking for: I find that my gameplay is MUCH improved over when I started, but I just haven't been able to keep myself alive long enough to really get over the hump and up my damage to where I would like it. I play all classes and my current T10's are the IS-7, JPZ E-100, T-62A and GW E-100. I am grinding out the Obj. 140 and have the T110E4 unlocked, just need the creds. I would like some help on survivability as I think that this is my next big hurdle to my gameplay. General help in all other areas would be appreciated. I do have TS if that is a necessity. Thanks is advance, and happy tanking!
