If they have to nerf anything about the Bismarck then I am in favor of them nerfing the sonar since that is the least harmful way that they could nerf it.

@surge753 That's more or less the correct way to play German BBS. The key to becoming really good at them is recognizing when that opportunity does and does not exist. Even the toughest BB will burn down under enough focus. The key is finding chances to bully without giving the whole enemy team a focus target.

No. If you fired torpedoes into an area where you know friendlies are going to be brawling it's your own dumbass fault. Always remember the Gunnery Sarge from mass effect: "It's going to fuck up someone's day, somewhere, somewhen. That's why you don't just eyeball it".

It's not a hard and fast rule, but I play my BB's like heavy brawling tank. Obviously it's best to not do it alone(rip me and my solo-pubbing) but IMO most BB's i've played are best at under 15k. Minimize those deck penning cits and you're close enough that it doesn't take 10+ secs for your salvos to land, leaving the enemy less time to avoid them

"I don't believe in stats"
"Stats mean nothing"
I want to kill the pub players that say stupid shit like this. You don't have to be obsessed with your stats, but are you really going to try and tell me it's just a coincidence my win rate is over 20% higher than yours or that I at least do my HP in damage in my battleships while you barely do half?
Keep up the great work @WarshipsToday, I use your site nearly every day.

Get the atago. You'll learn proper support and it's forgiving when you fuck up. Czar Nickolai is another great one.

map381 reacted to TouchFluffyTail in Zao gets spotter plane option, should I use it?
Spotter remains one of the most useless consumables. Short duration, extremely long reload, and near nil utility anyway.

map381 reacted to Mesrith in WoWS WoTLabs equivalent
AFT is very difficult to benefit from on US destroyers, which Lo Yang essentially is, due to the low velocity and arching shell trajectory. You'll never reliably hit destroyers at the extra range, so it only helps you add some marginal damage against battleships and some cruisers that are far away. If you really want to pad damage against ships that probably aren't going to die from it anyway, Demo Expert is your better choice. I'd recommend going with Survivability expert to help you come out of those close-range destroyer brawls in good-enough health to still impact the remainder of the game.
For future questions, hit us up here:
I'm highly skeptical that WoWS ever gets to that point. We're just now entering the beta phase for clans, which will just be token social clans for the near future unless I've missed some announcement on clan activities. Even then, the slow rot or abrupt destruction (depending on your viewpoint) of World of Tanks clan wars and the tournament/skirmish scene leads me to believe that Wargaming either doesn't know how to grow and strengthen a gaming community, or they simply have a vision for end-game that's different from the 2011-2013 WoT system that was pretty damn successful IMO.

Nothing, and i mean nothing, beats playing the Nikolai while listening to the Red Army Choir... going around exploding cruisers left and right because 12*12" accurate broadside and 10.7km concealment
Best money i have ever spent on any WG game

No it was because I had played so much in the months leading up to the event that it was starting to feel like a chore that had to be done every day instead of being a fun hobby.

map381 reacted to Mesrith in WoWs Ranked Battles ships and meta: Season 5
Smoke meta is sooooo boring. Random matches at least have some element of mobility and variety; ranked matches (just like top-team Team matches back in the spring) quickly devolve into stationary, visibility-based fights. While I'm all about using game mechanics to be good at the game, it's just not an entertaining thing to do with my time. I took a break for a couple of weeks, and this week I've only gone 1-3 games per day before switching to a few pub matches or doing something else entirely. Once Battlefield 1 finishes installing I'm not sure if I'll play enough to hit Rank 1 this season.
I've pretty much given up hope that they're going to do anything close to WoT-style clan wars or tournaments anytime in the next 2 years, but if they ever do, they really need to make some basic changes to how smoke effects visibility at the team level. Having anything higher than a 130mm gun shooting out from smoke should render smoke ineffective at least.
