ZiddyCat reacted to Rexxie in A Look at 9.8 Armor Changes (T32 Megabuff, etc)
I did this so I might as well do the same in this patch. When tanks go HD, often times they get some armor adjustments - usually slope - and it's not always obvious and often overlooked on things like rita's blog/ftr/etc. I think I nabbed everything, but there may have been some tiny details I missed.
Huge buff. LFP buffed from ~160mm at mid range to 190mm. Cupola buffed from 160-200mm to 220-270mm. Cheeks made slightly more pronounced, but still 330mm+, so only a factor against T9/10 TDs with gold. Rest of tank relatively unchanged.
Large armor nerf. UFP nerfed from 74 to 54mm, very thick LFP shrunk to ~1/3 the size and nerfed from 114 to 51mm. Mantlet overlap coverage shrunk, mostly all 70-90mm from 70-110mm. On the other hand, the tank got an engine buff from 420 hp to 500 hp.
Large nerf. Top turret mantlet center nerfed from 180mm to 90mm. Top turret sides buffed from 51 to 64mm. Stock turret mantlet shrunk. Very thick LFP given slightly thinner zones - not very noticable, but a small portion of it is now 170mm instead of 180mm. Hull roof slightly buffed - 38mm instead of 19mm around the edges, making it slightly more arty resistant. Will need to run this tank with stock turret from now on.
Slight buff. Armor is now T69-esque patchwork so a lot of it depends on what specific place on the tank you're looking at, but in general the tank remains unchanged. ~200mm beak was added, cupola now slightly larger, hull roof buffed from 25mm to 57mm. Armor is slightly more trolly if hit in the right spots, but also slightly more unreliable and in general has either gotten slightly worse or hasn't changed. Not nearly the buff we were hoping for.
Slight nerf. Turret cheek angles were made worse, many areas that were 190-autobounce are now ~110mm. Well armored "beak" between the UFP and LFP made very slightly thinner. Otherwise the tank is the same it's always been.
Slight buff. 60mm plate added onto the UFP under the mantlet, 40mm weakspot on the UFP removed (now 45mm like the rest of the armor). Armored beak made slightly thinner, mantlet buffed from roughly 110-120mm to 110-130mm.
Slight nerf. Mantlet removed, but the mantlet provided no additional protection beyond detonating HE. 60mm UFP weakspots removed (now 64mm like the rest of the UFP), tank made slightly shorter, sides no longer protected by 11mm spaced armor making it considerably more vulnerable to HE. Hull roof nerfed from 20mm to 14mm.
Huge buff. Lower half of UFP nerfed from 260mm to 250mm, upper half of UFP buffed from 170mm to 250mm, LFP buffed from 200mm to 250mm, mantlet buffed from 207mm to 300-330mm, cupola changed from 130-150mm to 150-170mm with a small portion of 110mm. The armor behind the "pipes" was made less pronounced, giving a much smaller target to players who shoot above the mantlet instead of at the cupola. Turret angles buffed, turret sides are mostly ricochet from the front.
Noticeable buff. Turret and cupola made slightly bigger, but the cheeks are now ~170mm instead of 110mm. Adds a bunch of reliability when hulldown against lowpen tanks. UFP nerfed from 135mm to 128mm. 76mm UFP weakspot right below mantlet now a 150mm strong spot, although it's fairly small. Turret roof can no longer be overmatched on flat ground by tanks its size due to a 76mm lip being added above the mantlet.
Slight buff. UFP buffed by ~10mm, from 175 to 185mm. Tracks now hang where it was previously the best place to shoot, giving small sections of 220mm armor instead of 170mm. LFP weakened a lot - now 195mm instead of 240mm, making it a much safer target to shoot with a high pen gun. Cheeks made slightly thicker, overmatch zone made slightly thinner, cupola made slightly taller. Bullshittium spaced side armor buffed from 150mm to 220mm, mimicking the IS-8/WZ-111. Tracks now cover much less of the side armor.
AMX 50 120:
Large nerf. Tank made substantially larger. Cupola is now flat, foch-style, instead of a hub. LFP now better sloped, usually autobounce. Otherwise, the same paper bag as always.
ZiddyCat got a reaction from _Mumble_ in Can't Recruit Every Cat [PBKAC] Recruiting Thread
So I know what you're thinking. You want to hug every cat, or at least be in a competitive clan wars environment themed around the concept. Well, you might just be in luck!
As of right now, PBKAC is now seeking open recruitment again and may want YOU.
You may know us (me) as the founder/leader of the bunch of dumb animals "PETCO" community, and that clan that makes a lot of gold, gets confused about fights, and generally forgets what it's doing. Much like actual cats!
You might also know us as "Those guys who fought that really bad clan where the guy who recorded it used an oversized minimap and actually put a fucking camo net on an IS-4" : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCV-EHVy_P0
Our awful cat themed clan shown here : http://www.noobmeter.com/clan/na/PBKAC
We're currently working on becoming much more active in the UC meta again, as well as finally spending all of these mountains of gold that we accumulate. Aside from our cat-oriented community, you can also find these things!
• Terrible humour! (Our humour is quite possibly the worst thing in the history of humanity and may result in cancer)
• Independence in diplomacy and a good relationship with most powerclans on the server
• Furries (You THINK I'm joking)
• Positive natured clan wars environment unless you happen to be our blamecube field commander of the night
• Goons (SGLE died, goons cried, PBKAC stronk potato ally)
• Room to grow and move up in the rank and file as we're constantly trying to find more FCs as well as improve our own
•.Furry goons (YOU CANT DENY IT BAWBAW THEY EXIST)
• Absolutely NO cat pictures
Our current requirements are as follows.
• 62% or higher 60-Day winrate
• 2900+ WN8 60 Day
• At least 6 clan wars viable Tier 10s or equivalent artillery
• Ability to show up AT LEAST 3-4 days per week (50% attendance exactly) for clan wars
If you are interested, feel free to PM myself, Gyarados, or my loving slave err, top uh, boyfriend Rexxie.
Or you can visit us on our teamspeak at pbkac.ts.nfoservers.com and look for anybody with a PBKAC icon and officer/server admin tags.

Arise, thread! I stopped doing replays for a good long time because I stopped feeling confident in my gameplay. Dropping down from 4,400 to 3100 was kind of heart breaking, but I certainly deserved it. Nowadays I'm back to running at 4k with the winrate to back it up, so you guys are stuck with me waving my epeen in at least one thread.
All old replays are unfortunately gone, having been lost when wotreplays.org went offline. New replays will be hosted on wotreplays.com, which isn't nearly as nice of a website, but it'll do.
Let's start things out with some high tier gameplay, because everyone loves hightier gameplay!
WZ-111 1-4, Winterberg, North
I used to have the 111 probably near a year ago. Loved the tank, but I decided to sell it when I unlocked & bought the 113. Terrible idea. When you combine a big, hard hitting cannon in a nicely sized package, who can't help but drool? Ziddy is just that amazing! ...Oh, and the 111 is pretty good too. This is my first match with it since selling it way back in the day.
IS-4, Overlord, South
New map! I bumble around the middle with my new-and-improved HD IS-4. I really like the map. The meta is still completely fuzzy, but with some luck this could be a really nice addition to the game. Certainly a lot more fun and varied than Stalingrad or Kharkov.
WZ-111 1-4, Live Oaks, North
Back to the 111 1-4! Town is lot easier to work with now that they've extended it. Beforehand the south team got a huge trump card in the town, while the north team had a huge trump card along the tracks - now both teams are on about equal grounds in both locations.

Alright, "suckle things until you pass out" day is over, so time to play catchup:
What makes the KV-3 the KV-3 is the side armor. You need to be abusing it as often as you can. Get into whatever the designated heavy brawl zone is for your map, and start sidescraping against the nearest wall.. Also, keep in mind that the KV-3's modules are actually pretty weak, unfortunately a side-effect of WG pulling it up into T7. This really is the only complaint I have about the tank, because it goes against its role on the battlefield. You try to abuse its HP and side armour too much and suddenly your fuel tanks are damaged, your engine has slowed you to a crawl, and you might even have lost your ammorack.
You can really help your KV-3 play out with a good crew. The thing holds as many as a Maus - while full-crew perks like repairs/bia don't benefit, it gives you a lot of slots for single-crew perks. You can be outfitted in a plethora of tiny bonuses pretty quickly because of that.
Neat fact, despite having them activated for every class and only being on the first set, I haven't completed a single mission in nearly a month. Most of them are of the "cap the enemy base" variety, and because I almost always avoid capping...
It sounds like you're not in love with the 13 90 anyway, so you might as well.
That's a good question. I was about to suggest swapping out optics for vents, but if I recall correctly, the T95 was one of the few TDs not impacted by the view range nerf. Mostly, that means the T95 will have a much easier time competing in the vision game against other TDs. In that case, keeping optics is probably a good idea. I'm still partial to spall too, I'd stick with it. It allows you to either put on another repair kit or food, both of which would be much more useful than vents. Wouldn't blame you if you traded it out, though.
