True in more ways than one, M5 was fun with the old Scott turret and 75mm, then was nerfed into the ground. Nice to see all the other lights catching up.

Why is this not Strv K.
Kranvagn hull with Centurion 3 (elite tier 8 turret) and 105mm Natogun.
That would mean slightly more upper plate (5mm), more lower plate (40mm), 35mm side armour compared to the current tier 10 and would make it a decent heavium (historically lighter with proper (higher) engine HP. But no. Clone. Yays.

    (Persons 1-5)
1 - Our game is too hard to play, how do we fix?
2 - What about removing the vision mechanic? It's obviously too hard to understand since only 10% of our playerbase is actively using it!
1 - Yes! We should do that. How about introducing tier 10 light tanks while we're at it?
3 - Won't that be counterproductive with our goal of closer engagements?
1 - No, it's solely for people that like to drive fast. If you don't want to play them, simply don't.
3 - Don't we want a balanced game with a competitive scene? I mean, we do spend lots of rubels on the Wargaming League. Shouldn't that mean we want to actually keep the vision mechanic? It'd even work well with the T10 light tanks so we don't have to spend time balancing each and every one of them!
1 - Our goal is to fill our pockets with dad-money, they pay more than teens. You clearly don't understand the audience we're targeting.
    (two days later)
1 - So, our WG league is costing too much money, we're cutting it down to 8 teams instead of 12. Thoughts? We're also removing silver league on our biggest server because giving money to our players when we can keep it for ourselves just doesn't make sense.
2, 4, 5 (in unison) - More money for us!
3 - Don't we want a competitive scene at all?
    1245 -

1 - We still need to fix this closer engagement problem. People still seem to be camping.
4 - How about making shells penetration drop on range so they can't do damage as easily from far away?
3 - Won't that also mean that pointless camping with armoured tanks get EVEN MORE effective?
4 - Of course not! They will be moving closer!

1 - We have received intel on some parts of the map being overpowered with light tanks, get in fixes by the end of the day.
2 - Look at this guy Xaneleon! This can't be part of our game, Mountain Pass is CLEARLY a better map without these positions in light tank.
3 - Don't we want light tanks to have viable options since they are inferior to our current medium tanks? I mean, light tanks even have worse matchmaking!
5 - Light Tanks are scouts. Nothing else.
3 - We removed the vision meta remember?
5 - What does that have to do with anything?

    (Watercooler talk)
2 - 4 aren't you sick of 3 now? He's just so negative to all the changes.
    4 - I know! He's an idiot, no clue how he's got 2500 WN8 with that brain?
5 - I heard 1 is going to fire him if he keeps this up.
2 - Oh man... our customer service bot program stopped working again.. ugh manual work for an hour...

It currently is, but I did some testing of the total balance pass coming out in February (early model) (you can see a version in Russian streams) and its damn good. The main problem wont be the game or developers (modelers moving to russia but balance is staying at OE), it will be population. Population is at a point where its a death spiral caused by itself, and it will need both Steam and major streamers to kickstart it. The game itself will have exceptionally fair power scaling, for one, and the removal of overhead arty... so there is that.

Seriously. Post Balance 2.0 AW will be better than wot, especially with how wot is going downhill. The problem is that it could be / probably will be too late.

You could change it to 0% for all i care, the fact that you claim that the difference between -12 and -20 is useless 80 or 90% of the time is undeniably false, it will be usefull most of the time just because you won't have to position yourself akwardly or even think about what is the best position on that hill since you can poke anywhere (and so focus on shooting instead micropositionning) on any hill, or just for the fact that the shilouette of the tank is miles better when you have more depression and this is undeniable.

Turning every statistic into wargaming bullshit and screwed up models to boot.

Example: The tier 5 Ikv 103 we saw today.
-12 instead of -20 depression because reasons
175 engine power instead of 230 because more reasons
    Example:
Turning the heavies into totally functionally opposite of their real design.
    Example:
Ignoring real serviced Swedish tanks that fit the tree and using paper tanks for no reason.
Example: Using an invented tank at tier 8 as a premium.

I am not creative enough with insults to describe Wargaming. They are fucking RETARDS on an EPIC scale due to this heavy tank model.
    Do you see it?

They modeled the turret too far back so they could not give the tank (I assume) the right amount of gun depression. THEREFORE instead of fixing the goddamned model they made the gun WAY higher in the turret to allow it to depress to -15. All in all, it looks nothing like it should, and has massively overbuffed frontal armour (more than the tier 10 should have) reduced top speed, and extra weight.  and therefore will be a close range corridor autoloader instead of a slower 50 100 with gun depression.
These fucking clowns could give WoT 6+ new lines per year if they spent 1% of their 35 million dollar esports budget on tank research. Fuck em, if the competition were not also braindead morons WoT would be dead. Long live market failure.
TLDR: Armour is way better than it should be, with the gun misplacement being a plus in-game, but WG are lazy and wanted a corridor autoloader that took no skill instead of a heavium 50b with more depression and less speed.

    Hello and welcome,
Stridsvagn 74 is the upcoming tier 6 medium tank, my namesake, and probably not the most fun tier 6 medium to come into World of Tanks.
This tank is most likely to be like a Firefly with -15 gun depression and the Cromwell gun. It has the same hull as the tier 5 medium and tier 6 premium, with no great amount of speed or armour.

Mobility: It is a very light tank for a medium, but has a bad engine, so it is still slow.
Gun: Hard to guess, but unremarkable aside from -15 gun depression, which is outstanding.
Armour: Under 60mm effective turret armour pretty much everywhere means bouncing is a fluke, even with the nice shape for the turret.

Tier 9 should be this, with this exact armour. Seems that if the -14 is used it becomes pretty damn tough versus any normal gun. To those who cant see, 150mm flat front, 125mm cheeks. It looks like about 150mm at 30 degrees ish (When at full depression), so a safe 270+. Upper plate also autobounces. Still a really horrific 20mm of side armor though.

Edit: The 200 zone looks pretty big and pretty flat though, may be an awful weakspot.

    Hi all,
I did a lot of work with Sp15 (FTR Swedish writer and the guy with the European tech tree post) on the Swedish tree. I can point to likely tiers and stats for tanks, and confirm that if a tank has a turret in the Swedish tech tree it should have -12 or more depression. (No turret = -10 to -20(!) range)
I can't talk to you about some stuff, but if you do have questions about the lines I have very good ideas of what tanks will be chosen and how they could probably play.
It should be noted that somebody compared the Kranvagn to a  50b with -12 depression. It probably will not have the speed of 50b, and likely will have less hull armor for more turret armor.
*Also. God. No BKan 1. We really do not want 14x155mm shells in 45 seconds with a 3 minute clip reload raining down on us.

Strv 103 with a historical RoF (If they do go there, most mediums actually fire faster than IRL) would also be frightening even with 0 gun traverse. 390 Alpha with Better_Than_Clone_105mm pen and velocity with a 4 second reload and no clip.  (5.85k DPM)

I had a really interesting brainwave. I think the Swedish tier 8-10 heavies will be mediums.
    1. We know they were only the size of T-44, at least the tier 8 one, and they have poor armor tier for tier.
    2. They could fit 105mm, 120mm or 145mm autoloading guns. 105mm or 120mm would work on an autoloading medium at those tiers.
    3. There has been no released premium heavy, not even the possible Kranvagn with Centurion turret.
    4. Why would they change the line completely with tier 1-7 Light / Med then tier 8-10 heavy?

Tier 10 mediums were a bit of a bad idea when you consider that they just went to advanced.

Centurion 7/1 with the 105, Type 61 with the 90, M48 with the 90, T-55 with the 100, etc, would have been enough firepower.

Well, Strv 103 is now confirmed by the museum. No great shock... but I still wonder if they are doing a TD line with a Med to Heavy line.
