  2. I used the GW tiger P for all my T55a arty missions and skipped 15 as well. Seeing as how T8's get thrown into T10 games all the time now it's actually a benefit because of the increased HP pool and you're not denying your team a T9 or T10 tank. The gw tiger p has the same alpha as the T10 just slightly less dpm. No reason to go any further imo. Maybe sell the gw tiger and buy the tiger p....better mm at the very least for missions.

    VK 30.01 (P): is it good?

    I agree I've carried games as low tier in this sleeper of a med tank. Granted I started with the top engine and already had the 8.8 unlocked so I cant say how bad the stock grind is. Hitting for 200+ dmg each shot though is what makes this tank so good. Playing randoms where you're top/middle tier and the other team has a majority meds/tds? Go smack some heavies around in the brawling areas since your alpha is more than adequate. Low tier? Play it like a td and easily get 2k dmg without breaking a sweat. On to the issue of camo...yes this is no cromwell so dont expect to active scout and not get lit. I use vents, rammer, binocs though and get around 480ish vr so odds are I'll see you before you see me if sitting still behind bushes/downed trees. It also gives you a role to play when low for your team and get the occasional side shot in when the opportunity presents itself. 4-5 shots in and you're already at 1000 dmg...cromwell wishes it had that dank gun.

    Vents VS GLD for big gun TD's?

    It depends on the TD really. Big caliber guns like 155mm+ need every little bit of aim time you can get. Id say keep using vents with 130mm and under at high tiers though...most of those guns already have good aim time and the extra little bit of accuracy and reload time is always welcome.
  5. Go figure the one time I actually wanted to lose to get a better chance of the 25% team dmg mission I couldn't 70% win rate over 40 games last night and still only got 1 nation a loss no less.
  6. Get the 212A as the mission requirements get easier the higher tier you are. Not only for the higher hp pools but the higher avg damage dealt as well...if a jpze100 shoots something you stunned thats almost half the amount you needed right there.

    Modern Super-Heavy tank concepts...

    Super heavy tank also equates to super slow which is a no go on todays battlefields. Also the addition of reactive armor kinda makes super thick armor obsolete....equal or better protection for way less weight. The current version of the M1 Abrams would be what a modern super heavy would look like. Can keep up with convoys with a decent top speed and near invulnerable from the front. Its still a little too immobile imo. Last wargames the NATO nations held the German Leopard crews ran literal circles around the Abrams crews. Some of that might have been sub par tank tactics training as the M1's would basically just sit in one spot and barely move while the Leopards were like racecars zipping around the battlefield. Mobility and ability to fire quickly and accurately is becoming the new norm.

    Stats - WR Question

    Does the "every 300 games or so drop in WR" match up with say event weekends? Just a thought...we generally have one whether it's a popular on track or whatever every 2-3 weeks or so. My stats usually see a slight drop during those too.

    Congrats! It does take some hard work to get that high. Even more so on the account you started the game with vs rerolling like everyone else does. Once i get some more consistency in my games I'll be there.

    Trying to git gud grinding Cromwell and Comet

    Maybe he wants advice on how to play them in today's super heavy meta and not from a 4 year old thread...or maybe he's lazy....who knows. I'll bite. Use vents, optics and rammer for equipment plus prioritize view range/camo over other skills because when you're in t8 games (cromwell) you're essentially a scout. You can get around 440 on the move view range once you have BIA and both view range skills maxed. The dpm can be awesome at times but it does require you to sit still to actually hit stuff. Early game dont trade shot for shot....try to get 1 shot off then back in those hit points for later in the match when there's more room to move around and you can put your view range and camo to good use. Secondly always be moving around....this means if you go to one flank and its all armored targets that you cant really pen easily then go somewhere have the speed to relocate if need be. Last but not least try to work with your team to gang up on enemy tanks. If you see them eat a shot from a tank that's by themselves and has a long reload dont be afraid to peek and get a few shots in. Learn other tanks reloads etc etc same stuff thats been said on here time and time will make a much better player on other tanks as well. Its the difference in getting 2-3 shots in for their 1 vs trading 1 for 1 and most tanks will beat the cromwell/comet in that regard. Play it like a light tank and you should do well.
  12. So starting to learn what xvm focus is all about with these teams today.....i mean really 3 tanks drive right past 5 allied tanks and yolo suicide rush just to kill me.   We won the game but fml getting damage today is like pulling teeth.

      The better you become the more you will deal with this kind of crap. I honestly never really understood until getting to where I am now and I experience it much much more than when I was a worse player.

      Yeah I think I was so used to being able to be aggressive at the start of the match getting spots/vision with xvm camo and now being 1st spotted means every pubbie wants a piece.   Just gotta adjust my play style I guess.   I just feel like if I don't then none of them will....

    I swear it's like you guys want this site to die off and shut down. Without new users and traffic theres no ad revenue. Without any ad revenue the site gets shut down unless somebody else wants to foot the bill for Never. Stop being so hostile to new people posting or say goodbye to your favorite WoT site.
  14. Being aggressive doesnt mean throwing away your hp though. If you can, build your mediums and lights for pure on the move view range so you can spot for your team. Yes we play in a heavy corridor meta atm but the extra vr will help burn through camo and give your team something to shoot at. Also pay attention to your map...if you see the opposite flank getting overrun or the same is about to happen to you then there's no shame in going back to a safer spot where you can keep your gun in the fight.

    Yeah whats weird is there's a 5000 game gap in the tables where the curve drops off. Maybe it's just the language barrier and he didn't adequately explain himself at first, but maybe he's trying to say his old crappy stats are being added on after the newer stats. Something seems off about that graph though.

    I find encounter battles to be better for wn8 farm more than win rate. Its luck of the draw half the time getting a team that know how to play the map in encounter vs random battle.
  17. On a side note today is the 25th anniversary of Sir Mixalot's "Baby Got Back" So get out there, and reverse sidescrape your hearts out. Maybe thats why all tanks in our garage have their rear facing you by default in the garage today...

    French Arty advice

    American or RU seems to be the way to go for hi tier arty. The Obj 261 is almost as mobile as the BC, accurate as far as arty goes, and has good alpha dmg. The american line seems to be strong in the mid tiers and the T92 speaks for itself. Accuracy can be troll sometimes least you have splash. French arties have the lowest HE dmg out of all their peers which is really felt in T9-T10 when you start seeing more super heavies and heavily armored TD's. As in hitting an E-100, JPZ, Maus, STI, etc for 100-200 dmg per direct hit...

    I prefer the 21 cm now because of the extra splash radius and alpha...the faster reload on the 17 cm doesn't offset the the fact that it barely scratches the paint on superheavies. On a side note load gold HE with the 21 cm for any "stun X number of enemies" missions and profit. I had 3 of the t55a spg missions completed before the i only have a few left. The new missions are even easier than before.

    I can attest to this. Before the patch it was gun traverse, you were lucky if you hit 1/4 shots and a 45 second reload meant you'd get to fire maybe 3 or 4 times in a battle. Now....I've helped carry teams in this arty with top 3 dmg and exp by supporting pushes on flanks and shooting heavily armored tanks and the group thats almost always hiding around them. Splash is actually big enough to matter now though i think stun range should be limited to no more than a few meters past that. Plus it seems 3/4 of my shots land now if im fully aimed and the target is stationary so that T10 alpha and the dpm buff can now finally be put to good use. Makes me kinda glad i didnt rage sell it.

      Solo WR being a band above WN8 is quite an achievement. Perhaps you could write a guide to pubbie whispering? I mentioned in a thread recently that there's altogether too much focus on pure damage whoring and letting the winrate follow along from that.

      @woe2you  There's not much to it....I generally just look for opportunities to force early engagements and play fairly aggressive.  I'm almost always spotting for my teams and generally help direct the flow of battle even after I'm dead unlike some players you see who go right back to the garage.  If I do die though it's always for the cause...i.e. forcing a flank to fall so our team can move forward.   Sometimes the best thing you can do is eat the shot that's holding your team up.

  24. Check Rooms to Go as well....they also have a fairly cheap selection. As far as cable management I just used blue medical tape...the kind they use to secure the gauze after you have blood drawn. Self Adherent Medical Tape - It isn't overly sticky making moving time easier but still has enough bonding to keep everything in one place. Plus it's cheap as hell, easy to find on surplus sites, comes in tons of colors, and looks nice if you wrap the entire cable bundle from top to bottom.

    T-34/100: All the 'Meh'

    I actually don't think this tank is as bad as people make it out to be. 66% over 53 battles so far and from what i've gathered about long as you don't trade hp early and can make the lackluster -5 degrees of depression work this tank can actually surprise you...provided you have a good crew and equipment. I've had a full girl crew since starting the line though so that has helped immensely with making the tank more competitive. Acceleration is sluggish, even with BIA and off road driving it's still outpaced by many other mediums and good luck landing any shots while on the move. It's just enough though to flex to the other flank if needed. Combined with the good pen and an even better gold round though I find I have the option of playing 2nd line with the heavies if the team comp would leave me stranded in normal med spots. I run GLD, Rammer, and Optics giving 440 view range with both vr crew skills so it's also not too shabby as a spotter though a bad camo rating certainly doesn't help. I'm sure without free exping the gun and a fresh crew though this tank would be a cringe worthy stock grind.
