  1. Still early on in the game but I'm going with 91 Days and Battery as my two top choices for this season.
  2. Anyone bothered to check out Thunderbolt Fantasy? Not strictly anime but damn, it's fun to watch.
  3. A few more worthwhile shows to check out: Amaama to Inazuma, Planetarium, 91 Days, Mob Psycho 100. This season's surprisingly strong. I've picked up a lot more shows than expected and with the exception of Hatsukoi Monster, I don't really see myself dropping anything.
  4. OMFG ZESTIRIA'S ANIMATION IS SO EPIC! Thought ufotable were in a slump considering what happened with God Eater but nope, they come back swinging! Days, the new sports anime is also definitely worth checking out. Wasn't a fan of the pacing for new Shokugeki but it is what it is. Moving onto new Berserk next and also on the agenda, we have Orange and ReLIFE. Will post some more recommendations when I get round to it. UPDATE: Also checked out Hatsukoi Monster and Momokuri which are both satirical shows parodying the shoujo genre. Not sure exactly where it's going to go from here but it's definite worth checking out for a couple of laughs.
  5. Hero Academia is hype as fuck. In other news, I finally got round to watching Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu. For a Deen production about post-war Japanese storytelling, I really wasn't expecting much but damn, Rakugo blew me away from the first episode. It's a fantastic drama with some of the most well fleshed-out characters I've seen in a while and is easily one of the best shows of this year - highly recommend.
  6. Agreed. I'm also watching 'Sakamoto desu ga?' which has some Gintama-level gags and helps me keep going until the next episode of Hero Academia or Kabaneri comes out. Fairly impressed so far with the season.
  7. Ehhh I'd pick Kuroko over Index any day. Index just annoys the hell out of me whereas Kuroko's such a troll. Her VA also voiced the newspaper club girl with the camera from Seitokai Yakuindomo which may be where you know her from.
  8. Not quite unrelated. Touma and Biribiri both make a number of appearances in each others' shows since both are set in Academy City and due to the fact that there's a few crossover arcs. You're sort of correct that Railgun is more SoL oriented than Index but that doesn't mean that there's a lack of action either. But anyway, in terms of viewing order, you're probably better off starting with Index as Railgun is technically the spin-off show (although I rate Railgun higher). I personally didn't really enjoy Index that much in all honesty so you could consider skipping it but then you're kinda missing out on a few plot points in Railgun... Paging @xRightygamer
  9. Is anyone else watching the new Magi btw? It's been ages since I finished Kingdom of Magic and I have to say, it feels refreshing revisiting the same world in Sinbad no Bouken. Looking fairly solid so far - nothing extraordinary but still remains a pretty fun watch.
  10. Just finished it last night. Really, really pretty - especially the last 2 episodes. In terms of how good it actually is though...I suppose it's a decent watch. Nothing particularly stood out bar the animation and the finale kinda raised more questions than it actually answered. It'd be nice to get a second season just to see where they take the whole story (and to see more beautiful action scenes) but I'm not getting my hopes up.
  11. Yeah, the last few episodes of Onmyouji have been rather disappointing and wasn't worth of the hype. Kabaneri's been pretty solid so far and is looking like a top contender for best show this season. For SoL lovers, I'd recommend you check out Flying Witch by JC Staff as it's definitely surprised me with the quality of its execution.
  12. You guys are useless Kappa Haven't had a lot of time to watch stuff but there are two shows that have definitely stood out so far: Boku no Hero Academia - the adaptation of the latest Shonen Jump series which (apparently) has been heralded as the 'next big hit' and produced by none other than Studio Bones. If you're looking to fill the hole left by One Punch Man, this is probably the most likely candidate out of all the shows this season. Sousei no Onmyouji - I don't really know what to say about this except that it feels pretty epic. Take the OTT flashy fight-scenes and animation style of Kill la Kill and mix it with the moderately dark tone of Attack on Titan and you've got a rather intriguing show on your hands that might actually deliver. The best way to describe it is probably a more shonen-esque version of Madoka Magica minus the touchy-feely stuff. Just by looking at it, I never would have guessed it's a Studio Pierrot production because the style is more reminiscent of that of Trigger's. Most definitely one to keep an eye on.
  13. Gonna be really busy over the next week or two so I'll be relying on you guys to scout out this season's new shows and provide recommendations!
