    Ruyio Shinonome (good camo + good torps + good guns) Farragut (best smoke, dank dpm) Leander (utility smoke and ok firepower) Cleveland (ultra dank dpm, AA, can use Leanders smoke) fill up with Fusos (shotgun, fast enough)

    Yes and no. The planes are ultra squishy and not very fast. AS Rangers and Saipans will pose a serious thread to any Kaga. Also if the targets turn away from your TBs and force you to circle around you will lose a lot of them and bc you always lose the ones that come from behind first, your left over spread is ridiculously easy to dodge...
    The only upside is the sheer number of planes you've got.
    We will see about the stats in a few weeks but I seriously doubt that the Kaga will surpass the Saipan or the Hiryu in anything.

    Ok, finally got the Zao - first game 202k, 5 kills. 2nd game 171k 6 kills. 3rd game 301k 4 kills. I run reload module and go in close combat. Killing a half health Gearing in one salvo is just glorious. After all Dds are dead kill the broadsiding CAs with the railgun AP and burn down BBs.
    Zao = gud ship.
    And all the things you need to learn so painfully in the Ibuki and the /pre buff) Mogami come in really handy for the Zao.

    What really bugs me is that WG already admitted like 2 years ago that Crew Skills and Equipment need a rework.
    But not only did nothing come out of it, they also expand on a one dimensional system full of noob traps with expensive and hard to earn features.

    The way I play Ru DDs is to constantly fire at the enemy, going silent only if too many peeps target you. Because of this I never use CE and always use AFT. Of all the 3-pointers I found Survivability Expert (the one that ups your hitpoints) my first pick. You will get hurt and every extra hitpoints helps you stay in the game and shoot shoot shoot longer.
    After the mandatory Last Stand I always use Adrenalin Rush. The build is rounded by DE and BFT.
    Ru DDs are also the class that profits the most from the prem equip that gives you longer speed boost.
    Finally, in order to go silent easier, I equipped Concealment Module on all DDs EXCEPT Khabarovsk - where I run the heal and the rudder shit.

    Mrph. Just when I was contemplating on wether to retry this game. I basically liked it when I got my Leo back just after release but it was too samey to WoT so why switch from a game where I paid 1k+ bucks over the years to a samey game and do it all over again...

    Shiratsuyu is prolly the best ship at tier VII currently for me. I had a string of totally awesome games but the very moment I tried to use her for grinding out Bismarck mission luck gave me 4 games in a row with utter and total fail teams...
    Last game our tier VII USN CV (Ranger/Indi? confuse these two constantly) send all his planes to the border of the map to snipe the enemy Hiryu...  in an AS setup... I mean, how stupid can you be? Meanwhile the Hiryu made it his utmost priority to keep me spotted, not much you can do in such a game.

    It's possible to rank out with a terrible WR by being persistent. The biggest issue with ships is that if you don't rank out in the right wave you're stuck carrying six utter shitters. This is how a typical ships ranked game goes btw:
    1. Someone says to go to a cap.
    2. Six of the seven go there. One cruiser has a brain fart and dies instantly on the cap no one else went to.
    3. OMG NOOBZ Y NO SUPPORT *Racism*
    4. DD uses smoke for himself and screws the other cruiser who gets deleted.
    5. DD eats torps in smoke.
    6. Face roll commences

    The problem with this approach is that it's focused too much on good gameplay mechanics, rather than WG profitability.

    I am on the last 50k exp to the Zao and I am starting to really loathe the Ibuki. Had 3 games with 110k damage and over 1mil potential damage (aka weaving like mad and getting lucky doing it) while contesting caps and killing DDs that were all lost followed by 2 sub 50k wins where I am unable to start fires and get a stupid citadel hit while angled after 3 minutes from 15km range.
    The worst part of this ship is the gun placement. If running slightly angled up or away you can shoot FOUR guns. Four. Great.
    In order to use your dank dpm you have to find the perfect island that isn't neither too high nor too low with team mates to spot and enemies to play along. Thats utterly boring.

    They try this on Blitz with the coming update. prem rounds will be 20-40% cheaper and have 15% less damage.
    I would rather hope they rework how ammo works completely. AP should be the baseline, APCR faster with a bit better pen but less damage. HEAT slower with less accuracy (like -0.2 acc) and the known weakness against space armor but the highest pen.
    Finally HE needs to be reigned in. It should not be dependant on armor thickness that much. Lower the damage of really huge cannons a bit and up the HE damage of normals guns a bit and then give it a higher chance for fires (but make fires less deadly). This means that tanks that can't pen other tanks (aka LTs vs Maus) can spam HE at it for minimal damage but also might start a fire for ok damage (if the fire ticks the whole time). So an LT cicrling a Maus would do 50-70 damage hits and maybe start a fire with 10% chance to then get like 700 damage out of it if it ticks through completely.
    This means we have an all round ammo (AP), a sniper ammo (APCR), a brawler ammo if you have trouble penning (HEAT) and HE as a weaker alternative of nothing else works.

    WN9 had three main advanatages to WN8:
    tank specific growth (so double the damage is not double the WN8 on all tanks because some tanks, like Tortoise, have it harder to get double the damage with the same skill) different way of calculating LTs and arties limiting the influence of single tanks on your overall The first would go away with tier averages. The second is no longer needed. The third is was a big feature in the first iteration of WN9 but got watered down so heavily that it could as well be left out.
    So, alas no, WN9 was not worth the hassle before and is even less worth it after the change to tier/type averages.

    Could be, but unlikely. A few friends/colleagues of mine play this game occasionally and being old farts like me most of these can't drive and shoot, can't look at the minimap once even a little bit of action gets going, can't aim.
    I guess this looks a lot like awful network ping when it is just awful brain ping.

    Uhm. Foch rants for the sake of ranting. How this makes him "anti-QB" is actually beyond me. His Chrysler review was simply shit. He decimated a whole flank complaining about how this tank needs prem to do anything while not using prem. Contradict much...
    QB said the chrysler is good but Patriot is already better, which is exactly what I thought when I saw it. Rear turret is arkward for most players and in tier IX and X noone really cares about your frontal armor.
    The new MM means that tier VI tanks will never see more than 3 of these, so wheres the huge gambreaker, really?
    The game needs adjustments, tiers need to be brought a bit more together power wise (at least hitpoint wise), thats true. But the release of the Chrysler and even 2-3 more tanks like this won't change that and won't break the game.

    The problem of WN8 and winrate and really every single metric in this game is that with 25% RNG and 15vs15 and maps and all you can never be sure of anything in any single battle. I've seen 45% 500 WN8 players with 6 kills winnign the game. It's rare, but it happens. When you go to the 1k WN8 region the player in question can do just about anything.
    And this is a HUGE part of why WoT is so successful - it is never same same. One game you melt a whole flank in your IS-3 next game you are dead 50secs into the game in the same IS-3. on the same spot of the same map.
    So if you want you can measure people by how likely it is that they will cause you serious trouble and a Unicron will be 99.9% likely while a deep red will be 40% likely (so you can often take on two reds at the same time but not three).
    Still, it isn't overly helpful.

    You "real" winrate is the average of you being lucky and playing the tanks you love while gettign the maps you are comfortable with and being unlucky on maps you hate in tanks you grind with pubbies that suck.
    It's the same for all of thus this way.
    But some people look at their last 14 days and their l33t WN8 there and think: "that's me". When in reality thats just the very best of you and not the real (average) you. And then they get haunted when the average imposes itself again by two weeks of shit pubbie yolo bots over and over again that your skill can't carry hard enough.
    So rather than focussing on numbers, focus on getting better which means:
    position yourself better during initial, push, cleanup phases anticipate where everyone will go and what he will do better aim more exactly get in way more shots without being hit This is the way to glory.
