  3. I remember seeing some images of a Sherman that mounted a Russian 122. Now while the D-25-T is pretty awful to play in this game, I still wish it had been a thing. We have a million of these, and some variance would be nice.
  4. I'll resurrect this shit. I'm currently playing mine, and I want to run food. The thing is I don't like the idea of 20% fire even when I know it's unlikely I'm going to burn. To this end I put Firefighting Directive on my Conq, then ran food. Is this a waste? I want to get some opinions on a good use for that slot. The obvious choice is to stick the vents directive in there and just not get shot and burned. The side armor + fuel tanks are making me hesitant however.

For no good reason it's also mobile enough for any map it can see.T26E5/Patriot: 31 - 3 = 28 I honestly feel like this tank is the worst one of them left.   11. On one hand arty will live. On the other I don't take HESH rounds from apes in FVs in my base who think I'm camping when I don't rush a Maus in my tier 8 medium.
  12. I had fun poking on reloads for city maps, but I'm bad. I do recommend swapping optics for vents. Like you said between the abysmal camo and paper armor your job isn't really front lining. You can cap out the range with vents + food anyway.
  13. The only thing you can really do is make use of the fact everyone overlooks you. The tank is known for being garbage at this point, so people don't always prioritise you. You can actually get pretty great damage going on with angling, and the gun can do good work when you get into a nice spot. If you can only skip one tank in the line, make sure to skip the BP though. The Church 7 is at least workable.
  14. I ground mine stock and hovered around a 50% win rate, which was my best at tier 9 for the time. Even loading all APCR in the BL-9, you're losing out on 50 alpha, several points of gun handling, and only gaining shell velocity. You can mount the BL-9 with the stock setup and still have a Vstab+Rammer, but to keep your equipment and get the top gun you're going to need the tracks. The engine takes you from 13.93 -> 14.75 so that's a possible last module. You can more than likely get past the lack of a third equipment, so I would say put on the suspension equipment and rush the top gun. After that take the top turret, then tracks, then engine. The radio carries over from the IS-3, so just put that on right away.
  15. Gun handling is downright amazing, and I believe that I read the gun handling skills are actually really bad to get on tanks with good handling. View range hits 449 with optics and BiA. I think I've burned maybe twice in 500 games and never ran AFE.

    I suffer from rather inconsistent play, but this was one heck of a nice surprise. My only other three marks are on the tier 5 StuG and the E 25. While they were challenging enough at the time, it feels good getting one at high tiers.
  17. That's what I figured was going down, some misconception born of retardism. I'll stave off on the IS-7 then. I'm still training a crew for it in my IS-2 because credits, but somehow I don't see me buying it very soon.

    Holy crap I am so glad I read this thread. I got to the M58 in two nights. Before I read this there was so little difference in the guns stats I would never have bought it. I went from struggling to deal my HP in damage every game, and often failing to do so; to 8 straight games of 3k+ with ease. This gun is nothing short of amazing. I yolo like a retard and die in two minutes with 5k damage.

    I'm thinking about getting another tier 9, and considering that I have this unlocked it seems like a good choice. (Plus it leads to a decent tier 10) From what I see, I don't need the tracks instantly, the engine isn't worth it until later, and the top gun makes the tank? I'm poor so very little free EXP. I plan on getting the first 120mm and going from there to grind the Turret and top gun, then grabbing the tracks and engine. (As mentioned high up.) Is this a good path to take? I have a 3 skill crew in my T29, and I think I'm going to reset the radio operator to a loader with some gold I got from the 1v1 this past weekend.
  20. I see most of the post here are from last year or earlier. Is the IS-7 still viable at all? I would like to pick up a tier 10 that can ease an idiot into the tier 10 gameplay style. I know the IS-7 is commonly paraded as being "noobs first choice," but that's the official forums and whatnot.
  21. This is what I really didn't understand at all. Why are they going out of their way to make more work for themselves and piss people off when they had a simple solution that would leave the players happy? Heck if they didn't want to make more tanks, they could even just make lights a branch from mediums and have the pond scum tier lights lead to said medium as an alternate path.

I managed to pull something like a 60% win rate over a hundred or so games in it for a while, but it was an absolute chore to use.
