Recently I've decided that I'm focusing too much on shit that detracts from my game experience and isn't really necessary anyways - I limit the fun I have by focusing too hard on stats, as well as being pressured into CW and the like. I've decided to change some things, and here is a basic list with explanations for your amusement:
1) Fuck clan wars. The current meta for CW is pretty awful, and I have hardly ever had fun in a game of CW at all. There don't seem to be any signs of this improving either, and it's just plain boring. I was brought in initially by the promise of gold, skill, and fun, but none of those three seem to apply [Well, the first two might apply to good players]. I have been very interested in tournies and the like, which seem to be all three of the above qualities I thought would exist in CW, so now I have started to focus on those instead. This also frees up my grinding to go for tanks I would like [that would be useless for CW, such as the FV183].
2) Fuck stat-padding. I do enjoy improving in this game and it has increased my enjoyment a lot, but I think I've focused too hard on it. For example, I really didn't want to grind down the Pz.Slf. V stock because I know it'll wreck my stats, but looking back I'd rather just get it over with and stop focusing so hard on imaginary numbers. I can always just increase my 60-day performance at a later date if I ever have to prove my skill for some reason, but I'd rather just be able to play the way I want, and improve my actual skill instead of my stats.
Hmm, that was shorter than I expected it to be. Anyways, hope you enjoyed the wall of text - while I did post this partially for my own record [and to re-read later], I'm also interested in what you guys think about what I have to say.
