  1. Hello people, I'm approaching you today asking for some advice on how to play better on this map and overall how to play better the WZ 111 5A

    I'm gonna add several disclaimers...

#1, I'm not... I repeat, NOT, bragging about the damage done on the match, once you open the link, please understand that most of the damage CAME in when the match was already decided, so if anything, it was just "Stat padding" rather than useful damage.

#2, I suck really really bad on angling my 5A, I cant seem to prevent getting overmatched or penned at weird angles, I'm looking for some solid advice on this.

#3, while I know how to play medium tanks on this map (Going to castle or fighting for castle OR mill) and tank destroyers (guarding mill or castle unless it's an assault gun) I have lots of troubles playing with Light tanks and heavy tanks. I find myself trapped very very often leading to a sudden and hopeless death when I get cut off from support.

Lastly... I want to ask people, to please destroy me with your criticism, it's fine if you point out that I'm retarded with shooting OR my over-reliance of gold, I am looking to improve at the game and I won't improve with sweet meek words but with solid pointers and a few slaps of reality.

    Thank you very much~

  2. I was wondering, right now, as of 1.3 Patch, which tanks can be considered hidden jewels? that is, tanks that people don't normally get because there's optional branches or people skip as fast as they can because they are low tier tanks that don't have their potential exploited by newcomers?

So far, the tanks I can think, that can find this type of category, would be tanks that people often overlook or rush through them, like the VK.30.01P being a very versatile tank or perhaps the JagdPz IV with it's 3K DPM

  3. I was wondering if the end of the road for this tank had a competitive appearance on todays meta, it will be interesting to see what the owners think of this one. Do you folks think it competes against the current CW preffered tanks anyhow?

  4. Now that I see it the title seems a bit racist.

I just managed to hit 1601 overall, took me a while and a lot of effort to go from 1390 (2017 january) to 1601 (2018 january)  in 4 K matches, not much improvement, so I was wondering about a lot of things while ranking up the color.

First off, it seems I traded enormously the WN8 I'm making for WinRate, I know sometimes WinRate is very subjective in a few aspects and many times a lose streak is just inevitable, part of playing this game, what I want to know is what I could do to try to decrease the impact my WR is having without spoiling the increases in WN8, I already try to target dangerous vehicles rather than players (example, kill a top tier KV3 tomatoe if he's weak instead of going out of my way for that T67 super unicum who spams APCR) as well as following lemming trains to push a side instead of dying in a stupid way in 20 secs, the things that I'm seriously lacking is how to trade shots and how to use a tank in an unfavorable environment (like a super heavy in an open map with tons of arty, or a light-medium paper tank on a brawling Ruinberg) so this made me wonder... What exactly, in the unicums view point, separates a light green from a dark green, a dark green from a light teal-from a dark teal-from light purple? i've seen some crazy players having 1200 Overall wn8 and 3600 Recents, so I wonder how do these people suddenly realize they can get good or what they are intrinsically doing wrong?

I'm sure this post will be a bit confusing without replays, so if they are really really needed I'm just gonna upload yesterdays session, but that's not the focus of the post, what I basically want to know is, what exactly separates me from the next bracket of players Skill-wise? So that I can focus more on both the WR aspect and WN8 aspect.

Probably this post will be a bit missplaced, if I did it wrong, I humbly apologize, have a good day! and thanks~

  5. Perhaps it is just that I'm really bad at fighting it, I was on my jagdtiger and the Badger just straight went through my UFP like it was nothing, I shoot at it at the cupula cheeks and it bounced, I remembered someone said the armor was incredibly tough so I switched to APCR and shoot again to the cheek (now that I looked at the tanksgg model I probs hit just slightly above it) and pierced it, I took shots back of course, I shoot again and it bounced on the cheek, tried shooting again where it penned and it bounced, then pum, I got killed from penning shots on my structure.

so yup... The thing it's kinda hard to crack if the LFP is hidden... not to mention the beast has extreme accuracy, good DPM and pretty dank penetration, if the premium round had more power... well.........

Then again, I'm pretty bad at the game, so there's a huge chance I just screwed shit up :D

  6. People tend to play more on the weekends, both for kiddos and adults. So the number of people playing also increases the chances of very random setups, teams, lemming trains, suicide-scouts and the likes.

Basically, on these type of weekends people get really frustrated by all the factors mentioned and have a harder time making proper choices because they get tilted.

I talk from experience of course~

  7. @TAdoo87

You know what, you got your mouth super filled with absolute truth. I'm gonna go fish in the WOT Replays section, is it too late for me to upload here my replays from this soon to be afternoon matches to get them reviewed? just 2-3 from both tanks, I don't do particularly well on either (aside strongholds and advances)

    As always, super useful man!

  8. Alright, I will post a few replays about it, I should rephrase it tho, I only have issues with the 50B on Fiery salient.

Light tanks and medium tanks are okay, it's just the tall profile of the 50B that sometimes it's difficult to handle in the middle of the map, where the poking happens

  9. I'm not sure if this is the appropiate thread to make such a request. but.

I was wondering if players who have had some good consistency at the game could provide me with tapes to study them?

I find myself struggling a VERY huge amount on maps where I'm forced to take cities for brawling and where the choke points are compromised of a few heavy tanks, best example is Lakeville, I'm unable to be relevant in the map regardless of what I use, the best that I have managed to do is sit back and wait for them to roll the city so that I can start clipping them, but then, it feels as if I was using my team as cannon fodder, which... Feelsbad...

So, if players with good matches could provide replays on the following maps as to what to do , I would appreciate it a lot!.

    List of maps;

    Fiery Salient

I do have considered WOT guru but it doesn't has specific explanations on 50B and 12T just rather overall positioning so...

    Thank you very much!

    Thanks a bunch!

  10. Two people on KV2's murder a T67 at the start of the match, I proceed to report them, I get screwed from behind until near death, then, they proceed to push me to get killed, of course I couldn't even do a single shot of damage.

They also damaged other allies and pushed people around barelly contributing to the game, even worse, they started insulting... On top of that... somehow we won the match...

    Players are JeFINN and Jancera

On the plus side, a LOT of the problems you are having in the Tiger II will no longer be problems in an E75.  Thats a real heavy tank and with the 128mm you can start winning trades and making people fear your peeks instead of vice versa.

Sadly, I ended up selling the Tiger 2 out of frustration... It was difficult for me to return to where the action was if I screwed up (among other circumstances) so I ended up straight up selling it :/

Perhaps one day I will take it back and attempt to do it right, but I doubt such day is any close, right now I'm having huge issues with my win rate, I'm trying to not be so tunneled visioned but I got troubles with assessing the map circumstances, I will add some replays whenever I get super bad games.

  12. Hello right now I'm having huge issues playing this tank, it would be nice if anyone could give me a few pointers.

Lately it seems I get difficulty on positioning myself on places where I can do damage, then I end up getting swarmed by arty fire and mediums, which ends my match. If anyone could give me some advice or replays to check on them, that would be awesome, thanks!

  13. I have a question regarding VR, skills that affect it, Camo and also a question of Russian T-X mediums.

First off, when you buy coated optics and the such, they state the maximum view range is around 435Meters or 445? I tend to mix these two numbers, so, basically my question is, if you have a tank with base 400VR and you buy an equipment, basically it caps at the limit the equipment states right? SO, what happens if I also get skills that affect VR like Recon or Situational Awareness? Will it get further from the limit or it will still be capped at the 445M limit thing?

This is important for me because, tanks like the AMX 50 120 have good VR so putting equipment usually maxes it, so giving it crew skills would seem useless? I hope my question is coherent.

Also, how does camo exactly works? many times I find myself sitting behind a bush (and bush isnt transparent) I shoot and get detected even tho all my crew folks have camo skill, does that mean someone in the other team has super VR and I simply get into their range? I also read shooting decreases your camo values?

The last question is, Russian tier 10's, right now, for current meta purposes and overall PUB enjoyment, which one is more viable? Obj 140 or the T62A?

    Thanks a bunch!

  14. @TAdoo87  thanks a bunch for your summary!.

A little bit of answering and inspection.

For starters, yes, I often get tunnel vision, sometimes I get so focused on what is going on in front of me, also me thinking "How the heck will I manage to get through them?" that I forgot other folks are creeping behind us to get side shots, an example is in the fight on my Tiger II where I tried to hit the Type 4, I loaded APCR to attempt to hit the lower plate, since I know the small driver hatches (if you can even pen them at all) and the lower plate are relativelly weaker than the structure (still over 230MM tho) so I tried my luck, but you're right, it's a stupid move that placed me on danger and needlessly got me hurt by other tanks. A question is, what should I do when I'm faced with these situations? I often find myself in a flank with the two top dogs blocking my way of moving or retreating, I also know that if I hadn't been where I was on my Tiger II, the other tanks would just have swarmed right through and the flank would had been lost in half the time it was lost. But then again, I barelly did anything relevant, which could had been a good option?

There's many times when I find myself invested in a flank with little possibility to retreat, not to mention the Tigers weapon isnt good enough (I dont have the top gun but I still dont think it would make much a difference penetration wise) so what would be a good thing to do agaisnt super heavies? like the Type's, or E75s-E100 (aside shooting the super small cupula bar thing) or IS7?

About the AMX 50 120, yeah... I cannot put to good use it's strengths, it feels nice the handling and depression on the gun but somehow I always screw up in the last seconds and get myself killed, things that I dont understand about this tank is how to play it when there's a massive ammount of armor on both sides? For example, Fishermen Bay, one side has really strong TD's, the other one has super heavies, if I go middle Arty rekts me or I end up being played by medium tanks, so I ponder these questions a lot, "Where can I be most effective? What can I do to stay relevant?" Against my own will I tend to go up the hill most of the times, just to end up frustrated.

Overall I think I also need to read more about positioning on maps and places where tanks can use their strengths, as well as learning better the armor models.

If any input could be made on my answers it would be greatly appreciated!.

Thank you very much for your patience :)

  15. Ive found myself disliking heavily any sort of slow tank, I simply can't seem to get them right anyhow... Only OP things like Defender seem to click to me, light tanks are okay tho, mediums too.

Still I was wondering if anyone could give me any pointers on which are the most detrimental mistakes I make? it's fine to use any sort of language, I want the raw truth, even if your only opinion is "uninstall"

Thank you very much for whoever that reads, patience.

In general, thinking back and with a bit of instrospection, I figured I rush way too much to action when I'm on bottom tier, there also seems to be a very huge problem with my damage capacity many times needing way too much time to effectively do anything relevant, the matches that bother me the most are the last 3 ones since I really like the support roles but I seem to fail miserably at it. There's a bunch of 0 damage or mediocre damage replays that I've got available. I really need any advice I can get, thank you very much tankers!.

Tomfoolery is accepted. However for something like this we'd prefer if you put it in a status update, they still appear on the front page.
