  1. I use right click to get into sniper mode. Mouse wheel to control zoom.
  2. So the above is great, it contains the detailed breakdown of WN8. There are still 2 things missing, from what I can tell: WN8 Summary WN8 FAQs Prior to reading y'all's responses to this thread, I went ahead and posted WN8 Summary on my blog here: https://taugrim.com/2019/07/04/summary-for-the-wn8-rating-system-for-world-of-tanks/ I think we should see to preserve the FAQs somewhere, beyond what is in the Wayback Machine, as WM isn't indexed by Google.
  3. That Wiki is offline. It was a great / the best resource on framing what WN8, what it isn't, and how the formula was derived. I hope this information is still available somewhere.
  4. On what basis have you formed your opinions? You have 0 experience on live playing wheeled vehicles. You have limited experience from tiers 7-10 in light tanks, and the wheeled vehicles were introduced for tiers 6-10.
  5. Disagree 100% with everything you wrote above. The tier 6 lights are pretty solid as a group. The AMD 178B is a good tank for its tier. The silver AP pen and alpha are a bit underwhelming but the HE performance makes up for it along with the excellent gun handling.
  6. I noticed the button is disabled. Can you share your formula for platoon stats and 2-way and 3-way ratios? IMO that is the most valuable thing on that page, in the current context. It reflects how much platoon padding a player has done. Thanks.
  7. I found the Bat Chat 12t to be good if you can manage an autoloader well. LTTB is more forgiving with the armor/turret. Haven't played the HWK yet, nor the post-nerf M41, nor the Chinese light line.
  8. What makes you say that? Does the API provide fewer data elements now?
  9. @RichardNixon, Do you have to pay for hosting, and if yes, are you accepting donations for your site? I've found it insanely valuable. Thanks!
  10. FWIW, it's time-consuming to write the code so that the tables, charts, graphs all work correctly. Also, @Nevermay need to write code that handles updating the historical per-player, per-tank data so that the historical trend graphs will render correctly. In addition, he has to update the code for the forum signature generator. It's a fair amount of work. Give him time to make sure the work is done right. On a broader note, the reason I wanted to post on this thread is to say a big THANK YOU to the folks who have contributed to the WN9 model. I've been reading up on the excellen
  11. Dude, $10/hr isn't even minimum wage. It's a very reasonable ask. Tutoring in almost any profession is a minimum of $20/hr. There are plenty of whales who want to get better and would be willing to pay for someone to teach them.
  12. @FrankyMcShankypointed me to this post and it is so spot on (no pun intended).
  13. IMO the Sheridan is the most incorrectly played tank in all of AW. That is one of the reasons why it is one of my favorites - it's fun to kick ass in a tank most people think is awful. I have ~185 battles in my Sheridan, ~65% win rate, over 1.7 kpg, and ~1900 dpg. You want to be opportunistic with this tank, but you don't want to brawl with it unless you have to. This tank has good mobility and 3 smokes, so you can flex and get 1st-shot opportunities on tanks, then pull back, using smoke if you're at meaningful risk of getting hit You can get the Sheridan's accuracy spread down
  14. FWIW, several of the assumptions about stacking in the OP are incorrect. I reverse-engineered the calculations for aim time and reload time back in November but unfortunately didn't post them here. Here is the latest information: http://taugrim.com/2015/10/20/taugrims-the-art-of-warfare-tank-reviews-and-guides-for-armored-warfare/#stat-formulas http://taugrim.com/2015/10/20/taugrims-the-art-of-warfare-tank-reviews-and-guides-for-armored-warfare/#stat-priority
  15. Franky, when are you going to let people know you photoshop'd that screenie. Just kidding.
  16. Episode #31: Bat Chat Review, Flanking and Spanking in Cliff I review the Bat Chat 25 t, a tier 10 French medium tank, with a replay of a Cliff battle. Stat line: Ace Tanker, 5.4k damage, 8 kills, 2 spots The Bat Chat has strong scouting capability and can carry games if the driver carefully conserves HP. It is the classic example of a tank that has a high ceiling and low floor, i.e. Bat Chat performance is highly dependent on the driver. It is one of only two tanks where I have been able to average over both 2 kills and 2 spots per game over 100+ battles, and that speaks to the strengths of
  17. Episode #30: T37 Review, 3.6k Damage and 7-Kill Carry in Erlenberg We review the T37, a tier 6 American light tank, with a replay of a tier 7 Erlenberg battle. Stat line: Ace Tanker, 2614 XP (1743 base), 3.6k damage, 7 kills, 4 spots Strengths and Weaknesses+ excellent silver penetration (150) + excellent gun handling, even on-the-move + excellent max gun depression (-9) + good HP pool (680) + good view range (385m) and vision control + good top speed and agility + good DPM - paper-thin hull armor (25.4mm) is vulnerable to HE and is often overmatched by AP shells of even tier 6 tanks, which me
  18. Yea, let's have everyone post all their videos in this thread!
  19. Episode #29: E25 Gameplay, Retreating and Counter-attacking Tactics I demonstrate when to retreat on a flank that is folding and how to counter-attack to recover and win that flank, with tier 8 replays of the E25 in Murovanka and Erlenberg. I discuss reading game flow to anticipate when a flank is going to fold and how to take advantage of opponents who over-confidently push that flank by leveraging the E25’s superb vision control and highly accurate buzzsaw gun.
  20. E25 Review, 4k Damage and 8 Spots in Fisherman's Bay Stat line: Ace Tanker, 4k damage, 8 spots, 3 kills Strengths and Weaknesses + superb DPM (2700) + superb accuracy (0.3) + superb aim time (1.5) + superb camouflage values + excellent top speed + excellent acceleration + good view range (360) + small profile + high rate of fire creates lots of opportunities for module and crew damage + preferential matchmaking - never sees tier 9 tanks - low alpha per shot (135) - armor is relatively weak (but just high enough so that HE doesn't consistently penetrate) The term "overpowered" tends to get thro
  21. Episode #27: Lorraine 40t Review, 9-Kill Carry in Mountain Pass I review the Lorraine 40t, a tier 9 French medium tank with a replay of a tier 9 Mountain Pass battle. Stat line: Ace Tanker, 4.5k damage, 9 kills, 100 cap points Strengths and Weaknesses+ excellent top speed + excellent acceleration + excellent max gun depression (-8) + good burst damage (1800 in ~14 seconds) - huge profile - paper-thin hull armor (40mm) is vulnerable to HE and is often triple-overmatched by AP, which means ricochets are unlikely - long clip reload time (~39 sec) - long aim time (3 sec) is higher than intra-clip
