I earned a Reward tank in the latest 2 week suffering extravaganza. I don't have any of the reward tanks in my garage. Any suggestions on which ones are fun? T95, Carro, VK, or Obj. 907?

i would pick caro tbh, a bit derpy gun handling and slow dpm, but on the other italian tanks, the slow dpm is `fine` (and its the best looking tank)
Other wise the Vk, obj 907 is just an obj 140, and speaking of 907, is that tank even better as 140 nowadays? 140 has same gun, but better gun handling, better turret armour (907 has a big 40mm zone, obj a much smaller 45mm zone) and 140 has much better gun depression (-7 vs -5)
907 has way better side armour, but thats it, i`d pick 140 any day in randoms, better turret and gun depression as way more usefull as reverse side scraping imo... (when i see a tryhard doing that, im 100% loading full gold to kill you first, shitty tactics and tacticool bs needs to be purged first...)

If you wanna be picked in CW more, 907.
If you want interesting gimmick tank, Carro.
If you want to turn off brain and blap people for 750, VK.
T95 is kinda trash tbh. In regards to the 907, the hull armour is quite trolly and can bounce occasionally, especially when rushing. That plus the very very slightly better dpm means its still preferred in organised battles. In pubs the 140 is just way more comfortable.

907 is the best out of all available tanks. The go to medium tank in CW. And the best Russian medium in the game.
VK is a very good super heavy. But it is slow and therefore not really my cup of tea.
121b is a good medium after all the Buffs. But it is also available in bind store. So no reason why to pick it here.
Carro is shit. Only good thing is it's exclusivity. Armor is meh. Gun handling is shit. Dpm is meh. New CZ tank ha better gun handling than this turd.
M60 is nothing special when you have the M48. And it is in the bond shop as well. Therefore no reason to pick it here.
E6 is a tank from the past. Even after the Buffs it feels like this tank has been left behind.

I had a bit of an epiphany last night. It occurred to me that World of Tanks has the same sort of monetization that a mobile game has. We're essentially playing a mobile game with enhanced graphics.

I started Playing Final Fantasy 14 again. It's weird to play a game where no one says the word "fuck" or insults me in chat.

Ok, so I played a few rounds on the sandbox server. HE penning spaced armor is hilariously dumb. Side of an IS-7? BOOM! Sheridan spaced BS armor? POW! Spaced bullshit on the front of a Sconq? SPLAT! On the other hand if you don't pen, get ready for 183mm of disappointment.

@GehakteMolen remember IS-2 with 300 pen on Tier 7? Or was it 275? I remember the value was moronic. T57 Heavy was also quite broken.

@GehakteMolen well yeah. 300 pen that goes through spaced armor, doesn't lose pen at long distance in an autoloader when there were very few autoloaders and many tanks had less armor and the game was less hull down. I was a total scrub who was playing t5-t6 then but the few times I went up (for some reason I chose Cent and T28 prot... I was a moron) I avoided t69's (phrasing) like a plague

I have had "Grand Battles" on for the past few months trying to do missions. I have seen 4 Grand Battles in that time frame. It's ridiculous. Why would WG sink so much time and money into a game mode that isn't even used? I can't even learn the damn maps because I never see them. Is it like this on the EU server, or is the game mode actually played?

Yeah literally platooned about 15 tier 10 games with @Private_Miros and seen Grand Battles twice (I have them turned off).

The SU-100 is filth. Pure filth. 10 second reload on a 122. Good camo and mobility. Passable gun handling. I think I found a new best friend.

It's getting those tier 8 matchups that seems so hard at the moment! In my 30 games, I think only a handful of them even had tier 8s in them, and never more than 3. I have been 1 shot away about 3 or 4 times only to fail because the other half of the enemy team just died before I could clean up my flank.

I think team damage being off has been a better thing over all, but trying to do damage blocked missions has crushed all feelings I have towards artillery other than hatred. I don't want team damage on because I think It would be better for the game. I want team damage on so I can kill friendly M44s until I get banned.

Question: Can you start fires without damaging the engine or breaking fuel tanks? I see it a lot and I am wondering how it happens. I think I might be damaging the engine, but not enough to turn it yellow, but I am not sure.

From my single game dataset I can only conclude that improved hardening = Ace tankers. Ignore the 2 previous games that day. They didn't happen.

I hate the SU-101. It sucks. The combination of catapult shell velocity and horrible accuracy makes long range combat a chore. The stationary camo, its only good stat, is completly irrelevent because the gun is duct taped to the hull. You have to turn the whole abomination and lose your camo whenever you are shooting at someone smart enough to move. The armor is a fucking joke. For a WG new age "assault TD" it has horrible armor. This thing doesn't have the armor to assault a retirement home, let alone most tier 7s. The HP pool is pathetic. Glass cannon TDs with paper armor have better hit points than this PoS. The speed helps only to get to death faster. The only thing that the SU-101 is good at is bullying stock tier 6s too stupid to blow its tracks off. It is a downgrade from the 100M1 in every way.

The person who made the stock gun on the CS-53 is a monster. Tier 6 pen, a long reload, and a longer aim time. some sick, sadistic bastard at wargaming got a bonus over this.

I love it, and the M48 at tier 10 too. It has its limits (poor final accuracy, weak standard round penetration and no HEAT, and not the best turret) but it's comfy and a great all-rounder. I run Rammer, Vstab and Optics on it because my crew isn't the best (moved the better one up a tier) and don't run food. Could do well with a Turbo but I feel the gun handling isn't quite good enough to drop Vstab, unlike on the M48.

I will forever go against the grain on this one. I just cant get behind a medium that large, that squishy, with terrible AP/Prem pen, horrible accuracy, and average-ish mobility, all in exchange for above average gun handling/VR/gun dep. The people raving about it years ago were all about the ez 5k+ Wn8, not cause the tank is actually special.

I've been trying to do some arty missions. For the life of me, I can't see the appeal of this class. There is literally zero skill involved. Some games I nail light tanks with bullshit across the map snap shots, some games I cant hit jack shit or fuck all no matter how I aim. I have no influence over games, all I do is piss people off. The only real "skill" I use is map awareness and I developed my map awareness by playing actual tanks. I look at the map and move away from collapsing flanks. It confuses the shit out of a lot of players. Friendly arty can't understand how I am still alive and enemy tanks who reach the base can't find me because I moved 500 meters. I don't even think counterbattery is a real threat to artillery, in 33 games I have been shot at blind by arty once. This class is the godforsaken skill crawl space of world of tanks and anyone who likes to play it is an oxygen thief.

@ZXrageThat is expecting a lot out of your average arty player. Next you're going to do something even crazier, like ask them to breath through their noses, or chew gum and walk at the same time.

That thing about being right on top to see tracers is just fucked. Most of the time no one indicates they have been hit or from where so you need to scan the likely spots. Just staring at a likely spot hoping that someone shoots on your reload is another level of the WG embrace of random.
Arty missions are a Lovecraftian nightmare of dread and hopelessness.

I've been trying to 3 mark the KV-2 R. Every. Fucking. Game. There are 3 M44s per team. If Wargaming is willing to nerf the progetto because there are 3 of them or more every game then why the hell won't they nerf that fucking abomination? There are people running around with fucking bounty equipment M44s that have a 15 second reload. I've seen poor bastards get perma tracked by one of them if they don't have a repair crew. Its beyond broken. Low tier arty is like high tier arty on crack.
