But we are still in 2020 so chances are there will be quirks, actually, it is Frontier afterall, it bound to have quirks.
So after... how many years? Combat will become the dominant credit earner (or not)? They just keep cycling the dominant methods since release, first it was REZ hunt, then it was jewllery smuggle, trade routes, then combat bond CG (farm with help of capital class), then trade mission, smuggling mission, then deep core mining, then surface mining... oh well.
At least it kept making all the ships useful from time to time.

I made a spreadsheet to calculate the opportunity cost of selling all your mining cargo (painite, whatever) in-system to a fleet carrier versus selling some of it in-system but selling as much as you can (up to 25% of demand) wherever the commodity commands the highest prices.
You only have to supply four piece of information:
The size of your load of cargo The price carriers in-system are offering The price offered by whatever system is paying the most The demand in that system The spreadsheet calculates 25% of the demand, calculates that many tons as sold at the top dollar price, and figures the rest of it as sold in-system to a carrier at the carrier's price. It tells you how much extra money you make by making the trip, and how many tons of ore that equals to at the price offered by the carriers in-system.
That way if you know the trip to sell takes you X minutes and the increased profit is worth Y tons of ore, if you Y is more tons of ore than you can mine in X minutes, go ahead and make the trip. If you can mine more than Y tons of ore in X minutes, the trip is a waste of your time; you'd make more money just selling it all to a carrier and getting right back in the ring. If you mine exactly Y tons in X minutes, it's a wash.

Make a copy and clear out my example data in the shaded boxes; leave everything else alone, that's where the formulas are.

diamonds/opals etc. they nerfed the 'hot spot' mechanic pretty hard, though i dont know the last time you played
normal/engineering stuff is still as common as ever

Occupied by real life, looked at Odyssey, might go for it.
Still alive? @FlorbFnarb

Is this really necessary? Will it be at the bottom of every menu in the country for the next decade?

Do you have a citation for this? I only ask because most literature suggests we still do not know yet.

The correct level of response is certainly debatable, and very easy to critique in hindsight. However, it is indisputable that differences in the national and regional "draconian" approaches have had significant and different outcomes.
This is so true. However, we must remember this was/is a pre-existing condition and Covid-19 just highlighted a decades old problem.

Australia had most of our cases being imported. A few outbreaks but contact tracing got those sorted pretty quick. Talk of second waves and such and hard to tell how long isolation measures will last.

5 Billion for a fleet carrier... Does that mean
If I sell all my ship I can afford an empty carrier

We will see. I’m on call next week and my state is bracing for the surge. Having said that we acted early and decisively and current projections show that we will have hospital and ICU capacity to spare, and in fact we are sending excess ventilators to NY.
We are now universal masks-on at the hospital, but PPE remains critically short and we have been instructed to reuse masks and certain other PPE

Its worse than that. There are a ton of people out there who have characteristic symptoms but due to the utter failure of the CDC and Federal leadership to ramp up testing, there are just not enough tests to go around. We are only testing people who are sick enough to be hospitalized or who are otherwise high risk. People want to be tested, doctors want to test patients, but there are just not enough tests.

USA
100k Cases on 3/27
200k Cases on 3/31
300k Cases on 4/4
Not quite a log curve, but pretty damn steep

Virulence means the ability to infect, not the ease of transmission. HIV is a virulent virus, in that it evades host defenses pretty easily.
What you're thinking of is infectivity or transmissibility.

I'm not a virologist, but I haven't read whether SARS-CoV-2 will be more akin to measles, HBV or poliovirus, where prior exposure/vaccination confers immunity, or rhinovirus where there are multiple strains circulating and you don't have cross-immunity, or influenza where it is constantly mutating to evade vaccine protection. I don't think there's evidence that it lays dormant in a reservoir like the herpesviruses (notably HSV, CMV or VZV)

Amen brother
I got my essential letter today as did my wife. The joys of being non-medical critical infrastructure
West Texas just went to shelter-in-place and are limiting all biz to 10% of max occupancy to enforce distancing etc. I'm seeing a lot more paper masks now, but locally we only have about 24 cases and 8 of those are all 1 family that went to San Antiono

All healthcare providers should start wearing Darth Vader suits.

100% of people who have injested di-hydrogen monoxoide have died.
Therefore di-hydrogen monoxide kills humans.

1. They had 1% prevalence in their ASYMPTOMATIC LOW RISK population, not overall.
2. Comparison to seasonal flu is hard, because we have immunization for the flu, which depending on age, year, and medical condition, is between 30 and 80% effective.
3. I don't have a good answer for the question about upper bounds of virulence, but I'll keep looking. My reading on COVID-19 has been focused on other areas, at present.
4. It has yet to be established that antibodies to COVID-19 are protective, so the premise of herd immunity is premature until we know that infection and convalescence confers even temporary immunity
