  1. Trust Wargaming to make what could be a fun, simple PvE game a complicated annoying mess. I've played 5 or 6 games now at tier 1, lost every single one since two or three morons in the team just press W and die, again and again. And the reward? Yet another IS clone. That's a hard pass from me.

My problem every single game has been that I can't kill the baddies fast enough at the end because I have only one or two friendly tanks. Not because I camp, but because I actually use cover, angling and side-scraping. Doesn't save me from the frikking lazer-guided shots from some of those bots, but it is better than sitting in the open taking fire from two directions like my teams seem to like doing.

I guess this could be OK for a platoon of 5 guys, but as is I won't bother with this.

    3. hazzgar

      hazzgar

In my game max 1 guy is dead. Mostly all have 2-3 tanks. They just shoot what is closest or play it too slow instead of avoiding as many tanks as possible to get to commander tanks.

Then again EU meta is cancer. I started playing EBR again since everybody camps for 10 minutes then suicides and that's the only tank that can exploit that.

What i don't understand is why you guys subject yourselves (those that do) to this crap in the 1st place. To me, it was obvious from the get-go that this event-thing would be crap mode. Not even going to touch it with a ten-foot pole.

  2. Is the meta in Frontlines changing? I'm seeing more and more heavies and far less lights and meds, in general. I've even started taking the Renegade out and it performs pretty well. Still prefer the usual Progetto/LT432/EBR but playing something else is a bit refreshing.

If i actually play the prog/ELC EVEN/Skorp i will general almost all the time.

Its not fun, its still boring as shit. Fucking WG thinking that 4 weeks in a row of FL is fun.

    3. Kymrel

      Kymrel

I forced myself to finish to rank 15. That way I only have to get rank 10 next time. I played the Rene a lot this time, mostly for a change of pace. It can bully somewhat, especially at range, but it suffers like all non-EBRs when a swarm of those totally balanced and not at all bullshit cars come for you.

    4. Tman450

      Tman450

People finally figured out that the way to farm ranks is to cap/reset and it's way easier to do in something with tanky armor. If a shitter platoon breaks out triple 252U/Defenders they're almost guaranteed to cap.

  3. Goddamn I'm tired of 279s dominating games. A 55% WR player on the other team casually steam-rolled our team on Mali doing 8.5k. Battle was lost before we loaded. Would it be too much to ask for Wargaming to fucking learn how to balance fucking tanks?

  4. Finally. Union 7 for the 279 done. 3 internal crits, 3 games in a row is a total RNG fiesta from hell. Ended up doing it in the 212 cancer after trying with mostly that and ISU with HE. Some good advice from people here to use those two tanks.

And the next mission I go for was getting 7 (10 for honors) vehicles killed by spotting or tracking them in 10 games. Took me 6 games to get it with honors. The balance on those missions are just totally fucked.

    2. hazzgar

      hazzgar

      Congrats.

Yeah WG doesn't play their game. The ones that do are potatoes. That's the problem. They saw how often they get 3 crits and thought a few games in a row is as hard as a normal spot mission.

Also yeah all light missions are easy. Maybe except the tracking ones since they require your team o shoot what you spot so some rng is present

      TIL 212A is a tank

  5. What utter RNG bullshit this Union 7 (Is anyone there) mission for the 279 is. Damage three internal modules or crew three battles in a row.

I've left it on for a while now playing through the double-barrel tanks and premium tanks without ever getting more than two games in a row, and usually just one. I've even been trying with the 261 cancer. Gotten two in a row once in about 15 games now. Even games where I hit lightly armored targets that, when I'm playing them take module damage all the time all I do is track, at most. Multiple games with around 3k damage in this shit class with one or no internal crit. Just WTF?

If Wargaming could fucking play their own game and then try to balance missions I'd be a hell of a less annoyed right now.

clanmate did it with the ISU-152 and HE, it's definitely viable.

    4. Kymrel

      Kymrel

Damn. Really don't feel like buying back the ISU and training crew for it, but then I don't really feel like playing cancer either. I'll give the 212 a little longer and then try the ISU. Thanks for the help.

  6. 1465 base XP is just 1st class on the Bourraesque. The purple unicorns out there are making the rest of us look bad. Also, just got a Tank Sniper on this thing on Prok. Don't know how the fuck. RNGJesus giveth and RNGJesus taketh away.

  7. Playing a bit of tier 6 for a change. This is the tier 6 experience these days. M44s all over the fking place. Looking up some of the guys playing this cancer and they have hundreds and thousands of games in this. But hey, let's not nerf this cancer Wargaming.

Very desirable, but will never happen. Capping arty to 1 per side would be almost as good.

    3. Diriz0n

      Diriz0n

It really has to do with effort. Effort is the key point. Doing well, in something like B/Cromwell, T3485M, Type 64 still requires the user to place effort into what they do and/or accomplish. Even if the vehicles are strong to begin with. What they shoot at, commonly puts them in position to be spotted and/or shot at in return.

And this results in the ancient argument, while artillery may not be overpowered, and dominate games in damage dealt and kills and wins. They certainly are broken. They turn shit players, into valid threats. And they take absolutely no effort, other than pointing and clicking and waiting to repeat

*has 670 dpg in M44* (I only play SPGs for campaign missions, plz don't kill me!)

  8. Thanks for selling the Defender again Wargaming. I didn't really want to play this week anyway.

  9. Christ. Can't even have fun derping around in an EBR105. Every game has 2-3 per side, ruining the fun.

  10. How does that work? I tracked a T54 and got track damage. Yet, somehow, the game doesn't display a single damaged module from my shot in the end plate. It's an interesting bug that makes me think the missions where you need to damage modules are an even bigger shit show than they first appeared. Or am I missing some simple explanation?

I'm not sure what your mission was but typically when they say modules they mean internal ones

    3. Kymrel

      Kymrel

It's not about the mission in this case. The point is that in game I clearly destroyed a module. The T54 tracks. I even got track damage. And still there is nothing about that in the end plates. Which leads me to speculate that the game might very well not count other critical hits, robbing us when it comes to those module missions.

Xmas day pubbies make Sunday pubbies seem positively talented.

  12. Union 7 for the 279 is so stupid. Damage 3 internal modules three games in a row. With the random saves for modules it's a complete shit show.

Just came out of a game with the double barrel tank doing 3k damage with 8 penetrating hits. I shot a Udes 03 with both barrels, scorpion in the turret, IS-6 in the butt, T28 prot in the side and a turtle in the roof armor. Oh, and  a  Tiger II in the side and a Lynx in the side as well. Total number of internal modules damaged? 0. Zero.

What a complete rng shitshow this bullshit is.

113 with HE on a med flank or is the shell too small? Obj 268 v4 is a good choice too since it can chase hits late game.

  13. You people are doing eeeeevil things with the 703II. 1337 base xp is a second class mastery badge!??! Also, this tank is really, really good. Snapshots like a god.

  14. Wow, haven't played the Progetto 46 in a while and took it out for a spin. Nice how 1,310 base XP is still 1st class and not an Ace...

  15. That's a new record for me. In a tier nine and ten game 9 friendly tanks managed to do 0 damage. On Steppes. Two more got a grand total of one shot of damage. WTF?

Renegade marathon + free hellcat = we pour mountain dew on our crops type of people. It's basically get a carry tank or GTFO. Worst part is even low tiers got stupid. Usually you could escape the mouthbreathers by playing t6 but not anymore.

Welcome to the NA server, we produce people like this all the time. No intelligent thoughts allowed.

  16. Quick mission question. I have three Block missions to go and then just the 15th mission for 3 groups to get the Chimera. I have 5 orders I could use. If I don't use those, can I use them for the 279e missions instead?

If so, can I use them now and then when I'm not sick to death of playing German tanks go back and finish the missions to get them back?

It's been so long since I finished the first campaign and I didn't need to use orders on the first step of this one so I literally can't remember.

Ah, so you need the secondaries as well. Better just stick to it. The three missions I need aren't that hard, it's just that playing German tanks is getting super boring. Need to do 5k damage, so playing Leo a lot and getting up to 4.9k a couple of times because reasons. It's a matter of time though, have done over 7k in the Leo. Then it's just a couple of topgun-missions. Since I'm no unicorn all three of those will take time and some luck.

    3. Sylvansight

      Sylvansight

time and luck will cover a lot of it,  I liked to split them into missions I would likely hit with a tank I was still due to grind vs those where I'd have to actively start playing a different way, or probably needed a tier X. You'll get there, good luck.

    4. Kymrel

      Kymrel

Yeah, that's the problem, I have so few tanks left to grind. And really none I want to grind in the German or Japanese trees. I mostly have the arty to go (not really interested) and haven't bought  some of the tier 10s, but they are all unlocked apart from the PzKVII (and why would I want to play that tank?).

  17. I just played the first game ever in a Mauerbrecher (it's a rental, I'm not that stupid). And now I have pixel aids. What a garbage tank.

    1. echo9835

      echo9835

Pixel aids are incurable, you are going to die. Sorry about that. :/

    3. sohojacques

      sohojacques

@Jesse_the_Scout I think there’s no question that they are. There are lots of broken, OP, combinations thereof, vehicles coming in and out of meta. But only arty and wheelies actually break the gameplay itself.

  19. Wow. Ramming mission for the Germans is bugged. I did it in an E25, ramming a Hellcat for over 300 and killing it while taking about 200 myself. But then I get killed by some asshole who rammed me to death 5 minutes later and therefore I failed the mission. Slow clap Wargaming.

  20. Doing a spotting mission. So either I need to be stupidly lucky or get one of two maps where you can sort of reliably hope to get spotting damage. What an annoying lack of spotting maps...

Sadly for this one I need a USA or UK tank. FML. T92 or Sheridan...

    3. NightmareMk9

      NightmareMk9

The UK lights have a pretty good camo rating and view range.  I was easily able to get the Play your Tank Class Right Missions done with them.  They do have too few shells, but overall not bad.  They are also a little more likely to tip over.

    4. Kymrel

      Kymrel

Honestly, I feel like the UK tanks are disturbingly similar to the T92 in most ways. A bit higher alpha which they pay for with terri-bad DPM and limited ammo. I had a totally shit time playing the T92 and can't imagine the British lights are much different. I'm a light tank guy though, so if they get buffed I might be tempted. But I'm staying far away while they are in their current state.

  21. I fking hate TDs that camp all game right at the back and do one shot of damage. To me, killing me when I make a play. Like literally why the fk would you camp your redline when you have had no shots for 8 minutes???

    1. Diriz0n

      Diriz0n

In 2O14, it was anfield who'd say this. Now its lemmingrush or TRUvoodoo.

TD are particularly bad tanks. And they are multiplied by more bad, when played by bad people - which is over fifty% using avgs.

These bad people, in bad tanks, do 1-shot of 75O dmg, then are quickly spotted and killed, and A)  didn't even move far from spawn  B)  did nothing else all game  C) extremely predictable spots that most other bad people flock too and sit,  or extremely unpredictable in stupid positions no sane player would go, but they did.

But the shitty point is, they did dmg when it mattered, to say a particularly skilled player being aggressive and/or carrying a team  -  and makes it all the more harder now. Passive play, passive concealed play, punishing players for being aggressive.

Worse yet, WG bides by it, adding extremely dumb passive sniper spots in maps  AKA sand river, ghost town, fjords, mountain pass

  22. Trying to do some Block missions and after a few games in the STB-1 (which is a nice tank now) I splurged and got myself the Leo. Wow. What a comfortable ride that tank is. Aced it in the second game with just over 7k damage. That alpha on a high-velocity accurate gun and a mobile platform is giving me a boner.

  23. Only boring lines left to grind. Need more med lines plox.

  24. Getting really sick of those OP tier 10s. Chieftain and the 279(e) mostly. Just lost a game where the enemy team had a 279 that effortlessly did 5k damage chewing through our heavies and TDs. The player has a 53% WR, 63% in this tank in 360 is games. As a comparison, he has a 50% WR in his 907 in 180 games and 47% in the 260 in 300 games.  Noooo, the 279 isn't broken at all, Wargaming, good job.

      Kymrel

It's like a super-conq but faster with better pen, 440 alpha and slightly worse gunhandling (but still excellent for a heavy). Not saying it's indestructible, but it is clearly better than the super-conq, which is one of the better tier 10 heavies. If you don't think it's OP we'll just have to agree to disagree I suppose.

The 279 isn't indestructible either, but the fact that so many pubbies can't handle it gives it an automatic advantage. If it can quickly chew through a tank or two while taking no damage, either because the guys driving those tanks haven't got good HEAT ammo or because they don't switch until it's too late, the team with the 279 has a much better chance of winning.

Both tanks are OP for sure, and seem even more so because generally they are driven by the best players. Whoever thought giving the best players OP tanks should be fired on the spot. As should everyone involved who didn't do anything to stop it.

    3. Snoregasm2

      Snoregasm2

I think that's a good description and I wasn't saying it wasn't OP (it is), but if we're talking an OP scale the Chief is much closer to the Super Conq and a few other regular tier 10s (277, WZ, etc.) - in that it has obvious strengths but also exploitable weaknesses if not hidden - than it is to the 279, which is just RRR, press 2 and win.

I kind of agree putting OP tanks in good players hands is stupid, but there needs to be high tier rewards too. The 260 is a good example of a tank that has a lot of weaknesses to balance its strengths, and even its strengths are hard to use for a shit pubbie (speed, good turret but shit gun dep). More reward tanks like that make more sense, or the T-55A which again is really nice but not twice as good as a tech tree equivalent.

    4. Diriz0n

      Diriz0n

What makes FV421 over powered, is an accumulation of many different things. It has the things that Super Conq sorely lacks, such as reverse gear top speed and HP/T. This is incredibly important, and game breaking, because it allows the tank to deploy across the map and obtain key hulldown points, Super Conq or TE5 have no chances in getting to, needing a few minutes of driving instead. When getting to hulldown, super conq can still get shot in the face, as the areas surrounding the gun are vulnerable to prem  (285 effective-) but FV is nearly indestructible. Like, we are talking 35O HEAT from VK721 won't break it. Next, FV won't feel as out-traded, as it deals higher alpha damage and matches many tanks like IS4, 113, 43OU

The loss in HP, gun handling - can certainly be felt in flat maps that force close encounters, to which super conq DPM and gun handling feel alot better, but FV can still take med tank flanks, with great mobility. Lastly, it is important to note, super conq spaced armour glacis resists HEAT very well, but still gets hit by APCR from tanks like IS7, Maus, PzK Vll, Etc. Again, like its turret it is vulnerable to prem ammo, auto aimed. FV on the other hand, takes an approach like 113 or obj 268 V4, where the hull is extremely angled, promoting alot of ricochets. Not necessarily relying on thickness, but mechanics. This is whats really annoying. And its way too thick, to use HEAT to try to by pass ricochet angle.

9O7A, 26O, FV421, 279E are not good at all for the game. All of them need to go.

  25. How does a 45% player get a T95/FV4202? I had one in my game just now. Average damage on that tank is 1322.

    1. simba90

      simba90

    2. Diriz0n

      Diriz0n

He could have paid for it.

I know clans offered spots on their rosters, so long as you had the fitting tanks, and someone could play your acc for CW battles, you could pay for a spot within a clan and win the tank. Lot of running jokes, people paying three-four hundred US, for a spot for a campaign, then removed after. I am sure many of those were true, not just jokes
