  1. That's interesting, I was expecting this video to be on something related with Ampere's poor resolution scaling.
  2. It's like everything else silicon right now. Scalpers scraping up what little stock there is to turn a quick profit on people desperate for a GPU/CPU/Console. Rocket lake might be some competitiveness back to Intel's offerings, hopefully they'll have HEDT Rocket Lake or Tiger Lake to go with it
  3. I'm talking about the core concept of the system, not the specifics. A single crew member, that can be realistically moved between any vehicle in a line. Skills that can be maxed out in a human lifetime, allowing you to achieve a desired crew build in a single lifetime. That sort of thing. But it doesn't look like what WG has in mind just from the UI, so oh well
  4. Another point to make, a shift to the WoWS 'captain' system for crew would likely be a positive change, but that doesn't look like what WG has in mind.
  5. In related news, Intel is basically dead to anyone able to find a Zen 3 CPU who does more than play Red Dead Redemption 2. Rocket Lake is unlikely to do more than restore status quo, and that's if Intel can maintain Skylake's clocks.
  6. Looks like Nvidia's launch drivers for Ampere come with some serious problems. Nothing as serious as Turing yet though.
  7. Windows and other programs report VRAM allocation, not use. Just because it says it uses 10+GB of VRAM doesn't mean it is. Not to mention that the 3080 is still largely incapable of 4k60 DXRwithout using DLSS, which doesn't render at 4k anyway
  8. In 1-2 years 8GB is likely remain enough for the vast majority of games at 4k
  9. The 10GB VRAM buffer isn't even relevant in most games. Doom Eternal with maxed textures was the only game to exceed 8GB VRAM used from everything I've seen benchmarked
  10. CSGO pro players will be all over the 3090 for 1000 fps 1080p ultra low quality gaming
  11. Thanks for reminding me I know nothing about the current state of the game. I can't even remember how the KV-1S was split
  12. Was plenty fast when I was playing, and physics never hurt the Chi-Ri
  13. Wasn't slow back then, merely average and came with pretty good acceleration. The only thing wrong with it then was the fact it's a giant box. Easy to hit if you weren't smart about things
  14. https://www.pcgamer.com/dwarf-fortress-is-coming-to-steam-with-graphics-and-mod-support/
  15. That 50% wasn't from drivers, that was from DICE being even more aggressive with culling.
  16. The mere act of existing is sadly too much for large number of Wargaming's playerbase.
  17. It's a binary win/lose with no options for counterplay, that is heavily in favor of the carrier in almost all circumstances.
  18. Looks like they managed something that is an improvement, while making things much worse at the same time.
  19. Thing is, even doing this the technique has given two wildly different results. DICE's graphical wizards have gotten their ray traced reflection system over 60 fps (according to youtubers) on what might be a 2080ti (according to a youtuber). Meanwhile, the Tomb Raider demo ran between 30-50 fps?
  20. DICE managed to hit 1080p 60~ish fps on whatever hardware Nvidia supplied in their playable BFV demo. I'd really like to know what exactly that hardware is though.
