  1. Help yourself not play horrible old WoT by playing a really good game instead. World in Conflict (with its expansion I believe) free on UPlay until the 11th. AC4 Black Flag free after that (aka 'The Good Assassin's Creed Game'.) Yes, I'm afraid its UPlay. But no, its not Wargaming.
  2. https://www.humblebundle.com/store/ Only for 24 hours, so get a shuffle on.
  3. Its broken! Its janky! It requires mods to work properly! Its also a lot of fun. Feel Boss at www.gog.com
  4. https://www.humblebundle.com/store Also, the Sierra Bundle's back on. There's some alright-ish stuff there if you like putting your fist through a wall. Internet walkthroughs didn't exist when I played those. Steam Winter Sale is on, but its the same sad old shit. Doom and Invisible Inc. fairly cheap though.
  5. https://club.ubisoft.com/en-US/ubi30 Yes, you'll need UPlay. Yes, its sad that manufacturers churn out their own shitty Steam replicas. Despite this, free games fuckers. Move fast. Prince of Persia Sands of Time, Splinter Cell 1, Rayman Origins, The Crew, Beyond Good and Evil, Far Cry Blood Dragon and Assassassassassin's Creed 3. Its a pretty awesome line up, and even if AC3 is a bit dull it does have the first iteration of shippies.
  6. They don't get much older than this. Smartarse 'oldest rap' stuff aside, this is a real eye (and ear) opener if you're unfamiliar. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRS62nccwmw
  7. Well, this is somewhat divisive. Were these a) some of the best point and click adventure games ever or b) some of the most face-punchingly stupid and unfair games ever? https://www.humblebundle.com/sierra-bundle Personally, I'm in the latter camp, but nostalgia does horrible things to some people who have fond memories of games that allow you to miss a hidden and crucial item. Then require you to have it several hours later when you cannot go back. On the plus side, $1 does get you the hilariously bad Phantasmagoria (and also the Police and Space Quest games. Yeah, Sierra rea
  8. For the record, Mafia 2 is Not Shit (TM). It is however, a thoroughly bizarre game that gives you a nice open world to wander around in...with nothing to do in it. Its do the missions or fuck off. Or run people over. These things happen. As for the Civ 5 comments, I'm now pretty damn sure the unrevealed stuff will be the expansions so you may want to hang on. If however they turn out to be seven copies of Lance Armstrong's Race Into Excrement 2K16, Spec Ops is still a dollar regardless.
  9. Off the bat, ONE MISERABLE FUCKING DOLLAR will get you Spec Ops: The Line. Which is GREAT. It will also get you The Darkness 2. Which is FUN, if A BIT DATED. Additionally, it will get you DUKE NUKEM FOREVER. Which is DUKE NUKEM FOREVER. SADLY. 7 to 8 dollars at present will get Civ 5, Mafia 2 and some basketball game. Expect the extras at this tier to be Civ expansions or possibly Borderlands related. 15 gets you Battleborn, which tells you an awful lot about its sales figures. Also Borderlands Pre Sequel. Please get Spec Ops. Its worth it. https://www.humblebundle
  10. This month, it be Splinter Cell. Arrr. Still a nice looking game this far down the line. Controls and gun accuracy can be a little wonky, but overall stands up well. Dates from the time of variable lighting, rather than the modern 'visible/not visible' To be honest, its been a nice surprise they're throwing out good games (so far) rather than a bundle of turds under some form of 'Classic' label used with no irony whatsoever. Yes, you'll need Uplay.
  11. Yes, popular clients they are not. That being said, in the red corner of hatred you can get Prince of Persia: Sands of Time for free on Uplay right now, while in the blue corner of vindictiveness there is Nox on Origin.

No. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JF4n1NX1oOQ From the company that gave you Goldeneye, much much later.
  13. Steam may now be run by miserable bastards who think what people want is sales of 50% off ten year old games so Activision don't get upset, but there's always Gog.com with sales of 75% off twenty year old ones.. Highlights at the moment include the Lucasarts pack and Planescape & co. Some free stuff occurring throughout, but opening with System Shock 2 free for the first two days. Hot piss! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rrm_wc2mwxI&list=PLDDB2582EAA71D384&index=6 Edit: probably fair to mention you need to install the GOG Galaxy client to get it. It looks a bit a
  14. Added to Telltale bundle: Jurassic Park, this probably has received the worst ever writeup of anything done by Telltale, haven't played. Strong Bad, also haven't played. Seriously, there's enough stuff in this bundle to keep you going for weeks.
  15. https://www.humblebundle.com/telltale-bundle Right, this is pretty superb right here. You can stuff the Poker Night games, but everything else is well worth bagging. $1 gets you the rather good Wanking Dead Series 1, the Puzzle Agent games, one of the Sam and Max series and the slightly inconsistent Back to the Future. Step up from that gets you A Wolf Among Us and Tales from the Borderlands. Both are genuinely excellent. Step up further gets Wanks 2 (not as good as the aformentioned 1, but still good) and Game of Thrones, which I haven't played. Unless you hate their games, or are a
  16. Very true, but the faction packs in Shogun 2 were more of a case of 'oh look, another faction with the same bloody units' rather than something with a bit more variety. A bit. Shogun 2 was actually pretty competent, but always suffered with me because I couldn't give a shit about the history there. Realm Divide, while initially hideous (pretty devastating the first time around, eh?) was actually a really good way of keeping you playing rather than the usual stockpile money then flatten everyone process. So much better than the initial way Civil War was implemented in Rome 2, which was absol
  17. Fucked if I know yet. I mainly bought it for COH2 and Attila and I think I'll be able to derive $6 of fun out of each of them.
  18. Used to be a point where I would automatically buy CA games full price. Got burnt by Empire, so I didn't bother with the expansions; and the last was Rome 2 which was the start of really shady pre-order practices (no Greeks for you unless you preorder!). Its not that the earlier games were more stable, people who think they were have very short memories - but they were playable and fun other than the broken mess Empire and Rome 2 shipped in. In Empire, the opposition was initially allergic to the sea and you could field the mortars of doom, while Rome 2 was essentially a large scale rugby s
  19. Next to fuck all gets you Medieval 2, Rome 1, Dawn of War and Company of Heroes with all the gubbins. If for some reason you don't have them, this is a bit of a fucking steal. Bit more gets you all of Dawn of War 2, Eastside Hockey Manager, Valkyria Chronicles but also the ability to take revenge for that teethgrinding Japanese cartoon nonsense with Fall of the Samurai. Armstrong and Gatling retribution for everybody. $12 gets you what seems to be most of Company of Heroes 2 and Total War Attila. Pretty good this one, assuming you don't have a shitload of whats there already. M
  20. I don't think Rebellion sold as well as they wanted; it received middle to decent reviews at the time. It was really slow paced compared to other non-turn based games, but I was pleasantly surprised when I got it. Rush for Interdictors! I mostly liked Empire at War, but I have no idea what they were thinking when they made the battle part. The space battles are a lot of fun, but the ground fights are a tedious load of bum.
  21. Hoo boy. https://www.humblebundle.com/star-wars $1 gets you X-Wing Alliance. That is all. If thats not enough all for you, there's very little thats bad in this one. Cut me teeth on Rebellion back in that day.
  22. Don't know if they'll be up till the 20th, so bag 'em now. Golden Axe, Jet Set Radio, Hell Yeah (whatever the fuck that is, at any rate).
  23. 2 extra games announced: Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and Blood Dragon. Pretty much seals the deal - Chaos Theory is excellent, and quite remarkable looking given its age; Blood Dragon is batshit entertaining - a one joke game that actually works. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dofacvjRkc If you've got them all already it doesn't help, but if not...
  24. One bloody dollar gets you the excellent COJ: Gunslinger and two other games. You tight-fisted sod. Also: Need for Speed Most Wanted is free on Origin right now.
