I think people are flattering themselves a bit if they think they just have to fire more gold and they will be a unicum.
I watch a lot of these guys on Twitch or the youtubes or whatever and one thing they tend to have in common is they are goal focused, while a lot of us more casual players jump around from tank to tank, doing doubles, grinding multiple lines at the same time etc.  These "super unicum" guys tend to be more focused on one thing at a time, eg getting 3 MOE on the latest FOTM tank. They are also operating on another level when it comes to postioning and situational awareness, something that very few people can emulate no matter how they load their tanks.
While us plebs fire AP and aim for weakspots these guys run nearly full gold including consumables because 1 or 2 troll AP bounces per game might be the difference between getting that 3rd mark or not getting it or it could be a couple of hundred WN8.
They don't care about credit bleed because they can just run strongholds for a couple of hours in a prem tank with gold reserves running to fund their next padding session.
I say this without being judgemental, just telling it how I see it, if guys want to do that with their time then have at it. Everyone plays for different reasons for some it's reaching that next statistical level or whatever and they are willing to blow through millions of credits to get it.

The fact that sub-unicums are convinced that if they'd fire an x ammount of gold ammo, they'd easily be uncium too.

then proceed to be a piece of garbage for the rest of the day as usual

Update: just sat in the living room in my underwear eating chocolate ice cream from the tub, stopped after 10 minutes not because i had consumed enough ice cream for a childrens birthday party, but because the fingers in the hand holding the tub had gone past the numb stage of hypothermia to the pain stage.

One thing this forum has never had is an elimination thread! If you're unfamiliar how these topics work, let me explain - I'll give you a list of choices with a number after them.
