I end with 6.5k and a 3-mark, but fuck that. What really matters to me is knowing the absolute unit domming me in chat:

I've been testing Grousers vs Turbo's flat mobility improvements. It's really hard to come up with a rule of thumb because so much of the mobility stats are hidden, especially the gearbox stats. I really hope someday we get a more complete set of mobility stats for tanks, because for now we can hardly compare tanks to each other, let alone how they are influenced by specific equipment.
With that said, testing it on a few fairly standard mediums (~18 hp/ton, ~1.3 terrain resist, ~60kmh top speed, medium terrain) gave me a very rough idea. When using only unboosted grousers, my tank was roughly 1.5 km/h faster than a stock vehicle by the time it accelerated to 50 km/h. Using unboosted turbo, my tank was roughly 2 km/h faster at that same point.
This isn't news, but at least I got a little more appreciation for turbo on most lights. Even without the slot bonus, they get significantly more out of it than almost any medium and, for a variety of factors, are the least impacted by the downsides of using them. I wouldn't be surprised if turbo on every light becomes meta as Equip 2.0 opinions become more set in stone, but time will tell.
On the other hand, the horsepower and terrain resistance lines on both pieces of equipment are very close to pointless if you scale them back down to what you'd expect on a heavy or slower med. Unfortunate, but at the same time these are the tanks where getting +4 kmh top speed or +15% traverse can be a much bigger deal than they are to a hovermed.

This tank is a fucking struggle, jesus christ. You get clipped by T8 autoloader spam in 2/3rds of your matches, then finally get into a T6 game and three M44s play bongo drums on your tits until you keel over.

This just looks like one particular breed of proclubber. It sits in a single bush on every map, usually with binocs and camo net, with the plan to shoot at everything that comes within range. By the time you have a good crew with full camo and some view range stuff, it can actually be reasonably effective because new players + bad crews = magic invisible sniper tank. The higher up the tiers you go, the more the approach falters because being inactive the bulk of the game becomes more and more problematic. You also have increasingly less gap between your super crew and the average opponent's crew. At tier 10 it completely crashes because it's taking a top tier tank out of the game every time. Note how much worse it performs in heavies than TDs, because at least it's matching the TD's role.

    This tank...

Although i grinded it away like in 2 days at first day when 9.10 came, it leaved a scar at my memory, and still gives me nightmares. This thing is literally shittiest garbage i have ever played. Type 95, ladies and gentlemen, is most retardely balanced tank in WoT's history. No, its not OP, its far more UP than anything was/is OP. Its so shit it makes AMX 40 look like an IS-7 with machinegun made of T92's guns, cloaking device and homing missiles. It doesnt have really any redeeming features. No, im not kidding. Its actually not easy to say what is not "absolute trash" on this tank. Because, look at its "pros":
    - it has good DPM. Yeah, good DPM. On paper. The thing is, this thing has no ability to abuse it. First of all, it has accuracy of drunken walrus, shell flies slower than fat chicken that's one wing is cut out, gun handling of IS and trash pen. If that was bad enough, it doesnt have mobility so it cant flank, further making DPM less useful. And then it cant snipe either because "great" gun stats, as mentioned earlier. And then it cant take hits either. Result? Great DPM becames crap DPM.
    - it has good depression. Yeah, -12 is awesome. But honestly, it isnt that useful either. It cant hulldown, okay, it has smallish turret, but has no armor, so good luck. Also because nightmareous aiming time it has to expose itself very long, not to mentione because shit accuracy, velocity and damage you need to also wish that you do damage. Also it has mobility nearly comparable to Maus so it cant get into any position fast either.
    - It has good HP. More a con, imo. Just more XP and credits to farm. Its big, slow, and has no armor, so having nice HP doesnt help at all. Also it still gets oneshotted by derp guns. Useless pro.
    - It has limited MM. This one is only true "pro". Really. Obviously not meeting tier 6s is big plus for any tank. The thing is, however, its so bad it doesnt even matter do you get raped by O-Is and KV-85s or KV-1(S)s and O-I Exps.
    - ...atleast its good XP/credit pinata for enemy team
    - Type is so fucking shit garbage that it can make enemy (hopefully) laugh so hard that they are unable to do anything for short amount of time, and maybe, maybe gives your allies chance to finish them off. Why wouldnt you finish them off, you would ask? Forget that. Really.
    Cons:
    - armor
    - size
    - mobility
    - pen
    - accuracy
    - dispersion
    - shell velocity
    - aiming time
    - gold isnt useful either (100mm pen HEAT with such gun handling and shell velocity? how about...NO)
    - its fucking ugly too
    - when it is on your team
    - it wastes game's data
    - it doesnt have any role
    - you have to research it and (unless u have enough free xp, and you SHOULD do that) even PLAY it in order to play JP heavies
How to play it: Free xp it.
Thank fucking god its lowtier. Imagine if it was tier 9... you would have a ST-I, thats engine is dead and top speed limited to 22, armor of Centurion 1, and only gun being BL-9 with gun handling of D-25T and premium ammo replaced with some kind of super crap HEAT.
I sounded very harsh, this is my opinion. Fuck that, however, Type 95 is utter shit, DW2 is 50x better, and DW2 is total shit too. If it had stock gun as only gun and RoF nerfed to ~10 and HP to 220ish, it would work as tier 2. It has no purpose and role. It cant snipe, it cant brawl, it cant flank, it cant take hits (because tier is filled with hetzing hetzers that just oneshots Type), it cant do anything, other than being utterly hopeless 2nd line potato launcher that hopefully makes enemy laugh so much that your allies gets chance to kill them. Type 95, definely deserves an award as worst tank in the game. Amen.

Half of it never sees the light of day, much of what does get implemented is watered down, and it takes years. I'm no longer spending money based on what they're "going" to do.

I don't want to derail this thread, but the comments here about gold ammo are offering this weird, forced dichotomy where either:

    A. You think gold ammo is stupid, you don't use it and actively hurt your team as a result, or
    B. You think Gold ammo is fine.

It is, in fact, entirely possible to see how the modern WOT meta necessitates the use of gold ammo, use it because the game demands it, but then also see that the entire concept of gold ammo is terrible game design and is still a terrible part of this game. You are allowed to use gold ammo and still complain that its idiotic and argue in favor of changing it.

I have to say that personally I loathe this game-mode. To me it seems completely retarded when the best way to consistently do well in the mode is to simply run away from everything for as long as possible. Seriously, unless you get the drop on a wounded opponent or can pick off other guys already fighting each other, the best move is to simply not take any fights until you are at least Level 4, ideally Level 5. This is acerbated by the absolute bullshit armour profiles of most of the tanks where you get really weird random bounces on sides and rears with the low-penetration rounds, plus the vision mechanic where tanks are invisible unless you are looking at them, meaning that it is very hard to get away from someone who gets on your rear or engage more than one opponent if you get focus-fired.
If I didn't need the tokens to get at least one reward tank, I wouldn't even be playing it.

Maybe unconventional: The game has actually been improving for about two years now. Basically early this year the actions of the past two years are just now starting to accumulate to the point where it's not awful anymore like 2015-2019. Well, before COVID hit, all the kids started playing, and ran it into the ground, but that should end eventually.
If you have a life or self-respect and haven't been playing for a while, this is the main stuff:
Scaled back the dreadful 3/5/7 which turned out to be a disaster. MM is now the best it's ever been, although there's still never going to be an excuse for three tier spread games. No more team damage (F.F.S.) Anonymizer, which turned out even more useful than I expected. I hoped to just tone down the arty focus, I never fully realized how much grief gets thrown your way because hurr durr uniscum. I actually even keep chat turned on most of the time now because I don't have to deal with the Lord of Flies crap that used to go on. Way faster progression. I didn't realize how demotivating it was to get so little experience every game. Now with premium and other bonuses as well as blueprints you can plow through horror grinds and advance crews much faster. I've finally been grinding up tier 8+ tanks that I never wanted to bother with before. More generous credits. I think even a free to play player might be able to scrape by these days because of the daily missions. The HP scaling of tier 1-6 tanks was way overdue, at least if you play lower tiers. I think it made things a bit easier for new players too. I feel maps are a bit better now than in the past, with a few new maps actually even being good. Although holy shit, Province again. They're actually adjusting tanks again, something they didn't do for years. I don't think WG realized how stale things get without constant changes. Training books are great, and make for a good credit sink. And of course, the new equipment. There are some new problems of course, pay to win premiums are the big thing and wheeled tanks are asinine, but the trend has been largely positive. Before COVID I even had days I played 20 games, a quantity my sanity couldn't endure since 2015 turf.

Spending a lot of time looking at this on the test server, I'm going to be using this as a mobility revolution. Turbocharger, grousers, and improved rotation have the potential to vastly improve speed and agility on lots of tanks that need it.
It's hard to measure the overall impact since everything is getting buffed, but I feel like the biggest winners will be light tanks and TDs. Light tanks got a lot of new options to mess with, and the improved camo value equipment alone is a big deal which will make the scouting role more viable. TDs just got a minor buff across the board from the improved rotation, it's as good as vert but aids them in their biggest weakness of turn speed (and turret speed for some).
Lot of advantages to the new system. You can fix many unplayable tanks by compensating for their weaknesses, there are a lot of new options to experiment with, the tier scaling in both cost and choice is a badly overdue change, and there's a lot more variety and choices than before. You could equip a Hellcat to be a dedicated traditional sniper, a mid range opportunist, or a full-on GOTTAGOFAST yolo idiot. I really like that ability to customize.
Downsides... this might make the game even faster since a lot of vehicles are going to be more maneuverable, tracking will be harder, etc. Arty gets a new, very good equipment choice, which sucks. Pubbies may be even more pants-on-head unpredictable because their equipment choices can vary so much... buuuut they're still pubbies, which means they'll gravitate toward the same dumb shit they always do, just as every dingbat has a derp gun on every tank that can use one. I still expect to see some camo net heavies because "they wont see me when i snek up beech".
Overall, while the main forum was bitching non-stop about it, I think this will be one of the best improvements WG has made to the game in years.

I've been finding that the "your engine has shitloads more health and won't catch on fire" equipment goes really well with the "10% more engine power but it damages your engine" consumable, since you have so much spare engine health and the equipment completely obviates any need for a fire extinguisher.
ALSO: Completely loading up superheavies like the Maus and Type 5 with all of the survivability slots [spall liner, hardening, improved configuration or whatever its called] is frigging hilarious on these machines. Almost never lose crew or internal modules. Repairs tracks faster than any non-autoloader can take them out. High tier arty does considerably less stunning in addition to less damage, etc.
