"this is one of the best maps in the game to try pubbie whispering.  The game takes a long time to develop and win in most cases, so if you can force a quick win on a flank, you can use that to win the rest of the map before you have time to lose it anywhere else.

The best place to try this is the eastern hill.  Get everyone staged, figure out where the enemy is, and communicate with them that you want to try a push and get their buy in.  Volunteer to lead it, and make sure they are coming.  This is best if you have a good central unit that can help you fire on them when you crash into them, and best form the north, since a scouty tank can spot from behind the bush, but still bail out to safety."

    - Use of offensive racial/gender/sexual preference/religion-bashing terms, harassment or other hurtful speech. If you use a word with racial overtones in your post name, that counts. Even if you find it a source of pride, the Web doesn't know what nationality you are. All it sees is racial slurs on Wotlabs.net.   -- Hurtful speech is use of speech that only has malice without context (Harshly condemning someone without elaboration) or otherwise more meaningful purpose to the use of it (Such as meaning in an otherwise lighthearted manner)   - Excessive use of profanity anywhere on these forums.   -- This does not apply to the Venting Room except in extreme circumstances.   - Spam and links to spam. If you want to advertise, contact us directly.   -- If it involves the game itself, you do not need to ask to advertise but spamming the link/s across multiple threads even if it involves the game is still a violation of this rule.   - “First Posts,” “nth post,” and discussion of them with no meaningful commentary.   - Links to inappropriate or unrelated content such as porn, distasteful pictures, etc. Many people read Wotlabs.net from workplaces or with children present. Some readers are children, in fact.   -- This includes PMs, live chat and any other means of using the forum software.   - Nonsensical posts that have nothing to do with the topic, repetitive diatribes posted to multiple items, off-topic posts that hinder discussion, and responses to those posts. We ask readers to ignore such posts. It’s hard to keep the comments clear of them if several people respond to them and responses mix with actual commentary.   -- These posts will be hidden as well and as often as possible to improve the flow of a topic. Additionally, should the topic of the discussion shift in a subforum such as Shenanigans, this rule will not be enforced heavily unless it is excessively disruptive.   - Personal attacks and openly antagonizing other posters or Wotlabs.net writers. If Ad Hominem is the only retort you have, you already lost. Just stop.   -- People who both have a reputation for doing this and a pair of posters, including factions, cliques or other group of posts, constantly butting heads will be punished more harshly for their continual disruptions. This includes Extended ROs and moderation preview of all posts, up to and including permanently. You will not be explicitly warned when secondary enforcement of this rule is invoked.    - Double postings and “Sorry for the double post” messages. We will delete the double and the “sorry.”     - Posts announcing other unrelated news.      - Incomprehensible posts or posts in ALL CAPS. All caps posts are the equivalent of shouting.     - Comments about post deletion, or thread locks. The proper forum for this discussion is a private message to Wotlabs.net staff.   -- Comments directly disputing actions involving ROs will be removed as well, if these actions are done while using an alt you will be subject to the rules involving ban evasion if you dispute the ruling publicly.   - There are a variety of sub-forums here. Please keep threads in the appropriate forum. Tournament talk belongs in the Tournament forum. etc. Threads determined to be in the wrong sub-board will be moved.   -- Repeat/regular offenders of this rule will be placed under moderator preview until they show they can actually read.   - No linking to software or advertising actions which violates Wargaming.net rules (i.e. botting software), this includes discussions that explain how to use glitches, exploits or any other bug to give someone an unfair advantage in the game.    -- If such a mod is discovered linked on this forum inadvertently, such as through a modpack, we strongly encourage the pack creator to at the very least advise us of this and to remove the link until such a time that a revised version is made available for use without the offending piece/s.   - Discussion or speaking of selling ones account, as well as linking to sites that deal in selling accounts or advertising accounts for sale, is strictly forbidden.     -- Discussion of account selling as a generality is allowed but on a short leash.   - Attempting to evade ROs will result in a permanent ban of your alt, and possible increase in sanction length for your main. Don't do it.   -- Repeat offenders of this will be permanently banned on all accounts.   - Political threads are now no longer allowed under a zero-tolerance policy. You will not be warned, you will be RO'd for creating a political thread, politically charged replies will be removed and other sanctions may apply. All ROs will start from 24 hour and escalate from there.   -- The punishment will be more harsh for posts violating this rule outside of Shenanigans and its subforums. It doesn't belong even there, going beyond it is a premeditation to be disruptive of this rule and will be treated as such.

Couple of thoughts that popped up after reading the additional posts.

I think we're at a point in the game where a larger number of folks who used to be hardcore players are just getting tired of it and moving on to other games, they come back occasionally, but overall its no longer their "go to" game.  This makes the numbers drop.

I'm sure they have all kinds of statistical reports that the server spit out with logins, time played, avg/high/low credit level and such.  Dead/inactive accounts are their biggest concern because it inflates the number of "Users" but since those accounts aren't active, much if any, they make the "online" side of the server stats look bad because it will never get near the total listed.  Accounts that have little play time are good when they first hit the server and increase the total users count, but eventually become a dead inflation layer for total online.

The latest "login Special" is a quick fix for this.  They can clock how many folks actually "login" to the server and claim those as the days activity.  Doesn't mean they played anything but I don't think they care, they'll be able to tell investors/advertisers "Look!!!! We had "XX" many logins just today".  I wouldn't be surprised if they instituted a rule that if you don't play your account within "x" amount of time it will go into archive mode or something that removes it from the total count.

Next thing.... Tier population.  This is a purely mathematically driven thing.  My guess on this one is that they have a great big ol spreadsheet that shows how many of each tier they have to maintain a "balance" in game.  Then you have to have so many of each type at each tier, TD's, Heavies, Meds, Lts, etc.  Back to their magic reports with the stats on it, there's a tab on there somewhere that shows ratios of tanks in game.  This drives the "On-Track" events.  We're a little low in this area, throw in an on track event, we need to reduce the number of this tank, nerf it a bit.  Unfortunately their about as subtle with this as you'd expect a stereotypical Russian to be.... "need little adjustment, only use little sledge hammer".... WHACK "there, fixed"....  Hate to put it that way, but ya know?

Last of my ramblings for this post....  Business models.  This is a general observation about businesses world wide and across any sector.  The goal of almost any business is to make money (Profit).  What most companies seem to be doing now a days is...  They create a quality product or service and find out that people like it and are willing to pay for it, so they make a large profit.  What's the next thing they do?  Improvements!  But what that usually involves is how can we make the product/service cheaper to make or provide so we can get more profit?  So they start tinkering with what was originally a high quality product/service and reduce it's quality a few cents here, a few cents there so they can make more profit.  Then they wonder why people stop liking their product/service so much and what do they do?  Raise the price to make up the difference...  All of this because their "Profit" didn't increase as much as they thought it should.  Which in turn drives sales down even more.  No one ever realizing that the current product/service is a pale comparison of the original that they sold.

Thus the reason they keep raising the prices of tanks.  More money and folks must still be willing to pay for them, so lets raise the price and see if they keep selling.

Just the humble ramblings of a fool still playing this silly game...

Never been on the other servers, but over all, most of the stuff going on in chat is pretty tame.  You always get "NOOB", and "Uninstall" stuff.  Every now and then there are some protracted arguments.

I play a good bit, mostly between 6pm and 1am EST, and don't usually run into that many problems or TK'ers.  Saturday night was probably the most amusing.  Driving along in my IS, a Type 59 tries to squeeze under me against a ridge and runs himself up the bank.  He starts shooting me, then his toon mate actually stops and comes around and starts popping me.  He starts typing about how I should learn to drive my tank... he turns blue, then his toon mate turns blue, team eliminates them both.

He raged for a quite a bit about how we were fools and should uninstall.... Next match I ran into a couple of other guys from his platoon, gave them a salute and asked if this player was a hot head, they just laughed and answered that oh yeah, he's the commander of the clan.  (-:  Gotta love it.  Top 100 clan too.

Other than that incident, its usually squeakers yipping about lack of support, you should have done this.... blah, blah, blah...

Anytime you put this many people into an anonymous environment you're gonna have folks being obnoxious.  Ignore it or troll them.  I personally love nothing more than trolling them when they start yipping.  But that's just me.  (-:

bremen68 reacted to Never in Introducing WoTLabs 2.0
After much teasing, here's the big news! A complete redesign of the website, along with some awesome new features and more information!

With this redesign, the most important information is displayed prominently on your profile, showing your WN8 and Win Rate, recent and overall, along with their respective color. Along with this, it's introduced the WN Rank. The WN Rank shows you where you stand on the WoTLabs WN8 ranking, and the color for it is assigned based on the percentile you fit.

The WN Rank follows the same criteria as the Top 10 Tankers list: You must have at least 5000 battles to enter the rank.

For clans, their average recent win rate and WN8 are show showed by default along with the overall information. Members have their clan position listed as well.

Also as a new feature suggested by Dlur, you can now type in a player or a clan in the search bar and press Enter. The system will check if the name typed is a clan or a player and will redirect you to the page accordingly. It's important to note that clans take priority, so if a player is searched that has the same name as a clan tag, the clan will be shown. The old buttons are still present though, so you can easily go to the correct page. Also suggested by Dlur, the search input is automatically on focus when the page loads, to quickly search a player or clan.

Of the new layout itself, it was made to be fluid, adapting to a wide range of screens to make the most of the space available. Even better, soon the mobile version of WoTLabs will be available, where it will have a layout made specifically for mobile users.

Overall, this is a more modern design, following good usability and responsivity practices.

And that is pretty much it! It was great teasing you guys, and I hope you enjoy the changes
Of course, as it's brand new, there's bound to be a bug somewhere. Please let me know if you find anything!

    Thinking is impossible for pubbies.
Pubbies whine when they get killed in their heavy tanks.
Heavy Tanks get weaker when others think.

Talk all ya want, you're stuck with arty.  Two main reasons:

    1.  Folks play it, therefore there will be a population of paying customers who don't play much else.
    2.  It would be a pain and expensive for WG to refund all the XP.
