Hey guys, I'm looking to replace my MacBook pro. Thing is about 4 years old almost and it is starting to age really poorly, so I need help/recommendations. I only use this laptop for browsing and video/netflix watching but it can play SC2 fairly well. I don't need a gaming laptop necessarily, just want something that can be compatible, speed and resolution wise. So an SSD is a must with a quick CPU. This thing's resolution is 2880 x 1800, I can't seem to find anything comparable though expect 4k laptops which I was told has very little added benefit. Appreciate your help fella

Last laptop I had is now confirmed irreparable, allowed to have a replacement. Think it was an ASUS X750JA or maybe something similar. Now I've used ASUS twice and they both are rather easy to break or have something went bad, looking for something more durable for a laptop at least. Last one had its IC short circuited when it fell off a short table I used in case you're wondering what happens to it. So what I wanted from the laptop would be : 1. Durable enough (an ACER notebook a friend had ever fell off his grip, had its HDD popping out, slight application of force to reinsert and all is goo

Hi all, looking to buy a laptop soon-ish and kind of need to update myself on trends etc. Use will be very minimal so I'm probably looking at something without GPU, I'm not sure yet what kind of things it'll be used for but nothing serious. So I'm thinking I just need to get an idea about the best bang for buck (and preferably rather long term - like 5ish years) concerning CPU, HDD/SSD options and maybe memory? 4G should be sufficient I think. Will post more details later TLDR: Got links or opinions on current laptops being sold in yurop? Post here It should fulfill following requirements (

Seeking Advice for Laptop Purchase
TeaTime posted a topic in Computer Stuff & Volunteer Tech Support
As some of you may know, I'll be heading to the US in about a month for higher studies, and I'd like to have a new laptop handy. I'm not particularly familiar with the field, so I'm looking to every here for some advice. A few things on my mind right now: Which brands are good for reliability and performance? I don't need something like the bricks I carried during my army days but I'd rather not have something break on the slightest knock eitherDoes it matter if I purchase the laptop in the US or Singapore? This is a concern for both price (which I think should be about the same) and warranty -
I've been gaming since forever with a $10 Logitech keyboard + mouse combo on an hp dv-7 laptop... I think it's time to upgrade. No case, monitor, or power supply to reuse; I'd like to actually get my hands on some decent peripherals for a change as well. Don't need an OS or optical drive, will be running off wired connection so Wifi is unnecessary. Budget is variable: ideally I'd like to keep it below one grand USD, but I can stretch that to get some better parts if there will be a significant boost. Goal is to run modern games at a stable 60+fps on high/ultra at 1920X1080. Since I play W

I'm not quite sure what happened, but right after the 4th of July, I came back on a Saturday to the game, and although I don't recall a "9.1.1" mini-patch or anything, I suddenly went from a playable 17-20 fps range to 10-14, and I've been having trouble even loading into games. I've already tried uninstalling several old programs and emptying my Recycle Bin, but that didn't appear to have any effect. I have a 2009 Toshiba laptop with Intel "Integrated HD Graphics", and I know that I can't replace it or anything, so I tried using compressed textures; however, the installer freezes up every tim

As you may have guessed from the title, I am going to be buying a new laptop soon. It will be for general use, but preferably will be able to run WoT on decent settings with good fps (realistically, anything would be an improvement, as with my current laptop I run absolute low at ~30 fps, going as low as ~10 if I'm behind a bush D:). However, I know woefully little about hardware (and I won't pretend to) so I am in need of some assistance. Although I am rather ignorant of hardware, I knew that there were a few things that I wanted: At least half a terabyte of hard drive 8gb of memory 15
