  1. Going through this forum, I found a few threads on the t37, and the old chaffee, which was similar to the t37 as it is now. However, I saw nothing on the "new" chaffee, (yell at me if I'm wrong) which surprised me greatly, as the chaffee is a hidden gem on the us light tank line. It is probably a better pure scout than the elc, and its gun rips apart anything without armour, with dpm an elc could only dream of, and manoeuvrability that can make the elc look slow, and the little vk 1602 leopard look like a slug. It is the only good combat scout at tier 5 (elc is quite different to the "normal" combat scout), and is hilariously fun to play. Firstly, the speed, acceleration, and manoeuvrability are unparalleled at tier 5, and even compared to high tier scouts like the lttb, bulldog and even the ru251, it remains amazingly good. It has the SECOND HIGHEST top speed among any tank (excluding ru251, correct me if I missed something) and the good ground resistances accentuate the 25hp/ton even further, while also having those typical american ridiculous traverse values. This tank flies around the battlefield, able to be where it needs to be and relocate in ways the leopard could only dream of. The traverse speed and straight line speed, as well as the turret, makes circling big dumb stupid heavies so easy. Secondly, the view range and camo make it a great passive scout, and an AMAZING active scout. It has 380m view range, the same as the leopard and 20m more than the elc- view range is maxed out easily without the need for binoculars. The camouflage values, which is retained on the move are also quite good, though not elc levels. however, the extra view range means it can outspot almost any tier 5 6 or 7 tank, and only some of the tier 8 mediums come close (excluding scouts). With a camo crew, it becomes very easy to invisinipe tanks, as with optics and food if you feel like your view range alone leaves a decent window of invissniping oppurtunity without accounting for camo. with camo added, it is possible to have huge carries without getting spotted, unless the distance is closed by you. (you have the speed to keep at range), allowing the chaffee to win the late game easily. Thirdly, THE GUN. While at first, it may not look that good, it is a gun that suits the tank. It is the only tier 5 light tank with good dpm- (leopard with 5cm is a turd, not a tank). The elc mounting the 90mm and the leopard with the mk 103 both only have around 1200 base dpm, while the chaffee has almost 2000, before crew skills or rammer. That's only 200 less than a cromwell. Also, the chaffee isn't like the elc, where the dpm is reduced by the awful gun handling. This tank has a 1.8 second aim time, and the same accuracy as a cromwell, at 0.35. However, the gun handling on the cromwell and elc is made worse by bad dispersion values, however the chaffee does not have that problem. It has 33% better dispersion than the cromwell on the move and after track traverse, 75% better on turning the turret, and a whopping 150% better dispersion on moving the turret than the elc amx. Plus is is one of the only tier 5 tanks, if not the only tier 5 tank, with vertical stabilisers, reducing dispersion even more. For a tier 5 tank, the gun handling on this is absolutely monstrous. While the pen is mediocre, the chaffee is more than fast enough to flank, and dabbing the 2 key (which is necessary quite a lot, but hey its tier 5, you're still gonna make monies) gives a decent pen boost. oh and ten degrees of gun depression mean this tank can poke ridgelines, and use its good dispersion to outaim opponents, snapping a shot off while they have only just started aiming. so what does this all mean? It means we have a tank with very good mobility, very good scouting potential, and a very good gun that can shred apart enemies easily. it quickly became one of my favourite tanks, and i hope people agree with me when I say it is one of the most exhilarating tanks to drive. oh and did i mention it craps out wn8? i know this is starting to sound like a review but I love this tank soo much anyways while i love this tank, I would like to hear what everyone else thinks of it, so please tell me about your experiences with the chaffee.
  2. The T95 is actually a solid tank. I'm over 30 battles played in it and it's sitting in the 54%-55% range with good DPG (compared to my other Tier 9s). I had similar success with T28 Prototype, slow TD's work with me for some reason. Here is my current setup: Who else enjoys playing this tank? I like it because you can shoot enemies with a good chance the return fire will bounce, especially at long range. Also the high damage/pen combo is nice with APCR rounds for the toughest enemies.
  3. Another shitgiting so soon? I was going to wait until Christmas, but then I got ocular cancer from this: You've all seen it, The T26E5 Expectorant Patriot. Red, white, and barf. My reaction: Yeah, I get that on paper it may be better than the T32 in many respects, but goddamn! The rules are simple enough that hopefully even you can understand: Vote yes in the poll to enter in the drawing, vote no to not be considered, or just be contrarian. There will be NO "extra" drawing for the "No" votes. As the winner of the Gasai Yuno shitgifting, @yoyoya2 gets 5 bonus chances to win. Not sure how long I will let this run...this turd gets released on Nov 10, but I want to give the aesthetically challenged among you that actually WANT this abomination to have time to trick yourselves out enough to buy it (I'm guessing it will go for $55, pick your Johns appropriately), so I'm thinking mid-Novemberish. Depends on the popularity (or not) of this contest. Sorry yurofags, you guys actually get the regular version, and that is not a shitgift. NA only. Update: Two winners, @yoyoya2 and shitposter @ZXrage
  4. I prefer Tier 8 tanks, I have 48k xp on the E2 and have to make a decision soon on which path to take. Primarily a Russian Tech Tree player, I have tanks such as the Object 416, IS3 with very little gun depression , so I choose to go down the American line and pick up one or two tanks down that line, my first is the T69, which I just got and love but now I'm having a hard time choosing which to pick. I also am slightly upset I didn't take part in purchasing the Fury as it was a tier 6 med tank for crew xp training, leaving the Super Pershing and ram II; Which line do you suggest; please tell me a little about you're playstyle and how you can relate it to the tank. Also if you can please tell me what you think about the Tier 10s; M48 Patton and T110E5 Thank you & good luck tanking O7
  5. Most people dont really know much about the T95 program. I have taken years of studying it ever since I started the T110 armor thread. The T95 program was the true father of all MBT`s. It was the first laminated armor that worked [wasnt fielded because cost alone but worked and was amazing] It had a SB gun firing APDS and Darts and was more powerful than the L7 gun. It had many of the first MBT features ever, since it was not chosen because politics and money was forgotten. They keep making ugly T95/96`s when in reality it was a sexy streamlined looking AMX30 type tank. Look at how fugly this is http://ftr.wot-news.com/2014/10/03/straight-outta-supertest-t95e2/ Here is there ugly models vs the real sexy ones.... Look at this POS, head looks huge for its body. Turret is to big in scale IMO, it is also to far back. It doesnt have the right track girth....The hull looks puny and weak and the turret enormous. In reality the T95 and 110 were basically the same size so why would the turret be so large? Now the real T96 in all its sexiness. Notice the turret size difference. Where you see the fuel tanks is where the actual turret ends. Look at the wheels the real turret ends on the last wheel in the beginning where the model is much further. All in all it looks not only bigger but offset back as well. The real turret mantlet starts behind the first road wheel and ends at the beginning if the last road wheel. The model starts almost the mid 1st road wheel and ends mid last road wheel. We are talking 4ft longer overall turret and probably wider to keep scale....Fail. Look at how much beefier and formidable it looks. Also from the exact side you can see how the turrets fit much better. Now look at how off the turret side is from the top to the real thing here. Here you can see the drawing showing clearly. True many of these have 105mm guns but the turrets didn`t change much at all. In fact many of the 30 Pilot tanks were just 7 tanks that had everything mounted on them. The theory in part was to make a modular tank design allowing us to customize for our roles similar to how we now use mostly M4`s/HK416 with various sight options and even diff calibers to fulfill all the roles. Also look at how much smaller the tumor is in the drawings. Now here is the T95e2 in RL where you can see it in the FTR article up top. This tank is by far the FUgliest and yet still 1 million times better looking than wots... Come on.... So seriously this makes me mad. I have been leading the charge for the T95 and T110 with my T110e5 armor thread since Closed Beta. They already made the E5 totally unlike what it was in RL, but I didnt care as at least they made it very competitive. But now they butcher the T95/96 in looks and murder the entire philosophy. It has thin armor because these armor thicknesses where based off laminates/glass which was 30-40% more effec vs AP and 300% more effec vs HEAT I understand they can`t use the real armor as 95 would be OP in every way. It would have something like 275mm vs AP and 450+ vs HEAT as well as have a gun more powerful than a L7. But what they could do is not use one of the thinnest designs that was only a PILOT to work out turret mounting etc. Ford put out the best T96 offer there was. It contained 65 degree sloped 110mm Armor [Later M60 stole this exact layout] meaning similar armor to a T54/Cent in many ways. It also was going to have its 700 HP Engine later designed for the M60 at 750 HP. So since they have so many options from the same years they can make this a truly legit T10 med and not some weird gimmick reward tank. Save the T95/96, I rather it just not be in game than them ruin it. Lastly look at the AMX 30, Leo 1 and M60 and tell me it was not the inspiration for the them
  6. Thanks everyone for participating. Remember I dont think the E4 is ultra weak, just that it needs a true home in what it is and needs some buffs to bring it to that point, these wouldnt change it much from a enemy tanks perspective but from a drivers that extra 350 HP would be huge, no more losing 50% of health from 1 arty splash etc. Survivability on a soft tank with no camo means HP... So IMO the E4 is a tank that was nerfed into the ground as was the M48. Seems like when US tanks are blatantly OP they get dealt with harshly as Im sure the T57 will be. IMO it also needs to be revisited badly as this tank doesnt know what it is and suffers from its "Class" but gains nothing from it. When it came out it was an absolute terror and really there was little reason not to use it. It has 850 Alpha back when only 1 Heavy had near that and only a few TD`s did. No 183 or jpz. It also had a turret that was much harder than now with a Reload closer to 15 secs when all said and done. It was OP as hell, more DPM than any heavy with almost 2x alpha+Pen of a TD and turret, and armor. But after nerf it was ruined and power creeped even more. Because its a "Td" it gets 300-400 less HP than if it was a heavy, it gets much softer armor and just as bad gun handling. It would compete with IS4+Is7 on light end and E100 on heavier end, all with DPM more in the same area with all 3 better armor. E100 has same alpha but better DPM nght and day armor and 650 more HP. IS7 has much better speed and armor and vs arty or flanking meds is night and day better. And all for a whopping 100 DPM. Then vs TD`s its massively UP in DPM with 2250ish vs similiar with a 3 clip magazine of a Foch. yes it has a turret but its soft as hell and has no Camo...Or 3.5% while moving which is LOL. Look at 268 which is now med of the road. 268 is faster has double the camo and more while firing, it has 400ish DPM more with 4.5 sec reload diff, more Pen much better accuracy and really its armor is as good easily. So, IM othe main reason it was ok was the Meta of the game favoring Camping etc where it was much worse than a E3 or 268 or Foch. Now Meta is becoming Brawl and its second rate with this to a solid Heavy or even a med. They need to either make it a TD and give it same Camo as a 268 [they are same size INRL well E4 was E5 inspired so yeah] and then it still has shitty armor, gun handling and DPM fo its turret, or it needs its HP and Armor buffed, id say 2350 HP with Turret cheeks from 250 to 270 vs AP and 50/50 vs heat`s 330mm at wekspot. Also tumor goes to just below a E3. Ether way is balanced IMO. Even with OP turret part, it still would have a E5`s Upper/lower. So for a super heavy it would be Meh Armor and Meh HP for a big gun that pens well. And for a TD it would have bad DPM, ad gun stats and either way its bad track resist hurts it. What do you guys think? E4 is such a fun concept and its ok in Pubs but only because 750 alpha is easy to use/abuse. But in reality how much better than a T30 is it? IMO my ultimate would be making E4 a true heavy and T57 a TD. I think T57 could play better and be more balanced as a 1900 HP tank and gets slowed turret traverse and loss of a shell for some other things. So the other route would be making the E4 like the old T30 where it was soft as hell but had great gun handling etc...So maybe 2250 HP 2.5 Sec Aim+ .35 accuracy and increase depression to -8. TL;DR E4 needs to be updated and in my perfect world it goes.... T57 moves to 2nd unarmored TD, and goes to 1900 HP making it perfectly balanced if it loses 1 shell but retains DPM. It fits much better anyways. E4 moves to 2nd heavy and either becomes true super heavy with 2400ish HP and Turret reinforcement including cheeks and hatch or E4 becomes old T30 style with shit in class Armor but 2.5 Aimtime .35 accuracy and-8 [+2 depression buff] Also a bit of dispersion etc. This gives guys a choice and moves tanks to where they should be. if 57/58 was made it would not have been Hvy but a TD.
  7. I just remembered again that I had 19,500 gold in the EU region and I am rather tired of the North American regions low population and horrible Wargaming NA staff so I've created an EU clan/social group. The intent of this group is to dominate the Europubbies in the competitive scene every once in a while (most of you already are in clans/play NA regularly). Right now I'm planning for it to be mainly Wot Lab goers, PTATO players, and any unicums who feel like popping over to the EU in order to satisfy their desire to romp some euroscrubs in planes. There will be no stringent daily practice stuff except before tournaments if you are on a team or requirements for so-and-so hours per week or anything to that effect, play in what tournaments you want when you want. Currently working on a list of members. There are already a few committed and I'm are also trying to find a clan pic if anybody has a suggestion. Interested players PM me via WoT Labs or just leave a message here. Make sure to have Skype and Teamspeak 3 + Mumble. edit: There are 100 slots in a clan, so don't hesitate to apply even if you think you won't be available very often. Current Members/NA Stats:
