  1. Post some lesser known tips here. Horizontal Stabilization can be enabled without having to turn on dynamic camera along with it.
  2. Hello! I am a new player that has been reading your tips. It is going really well for me. I have ~55 % win rate so it has really helped me! I want to know what equipment I should use on the Panzer III which is a mobile medium tank at tier 4. You can skip the text below if you don't want to read it. I can now afford to buy my first tier 4 tank. I am going to get the Panzer III which looks like a very good medium with nice armor, good mobility and good 5cm gun. I like to play in a platoon with 2 comrades of mine and we all play the German nation with the same tech-tree. We are aiming to all get the Panzer III to be able to play as an effective medium platoon. I have been playing more than my friends so I am a little bit ahead and ready to buy the tank with 75 % crew right now. I will probably spend a lot of time in this tank and I want to upgrade as much as I can (no matter the cost) but I am not sure what equipment I should get. Some people recommend using: - Vents - Gun Laying Drive (GLD) - Gun Rammer But would it not be better to use Coated Optics instead of GLD because view-range is so crucial? People recommend to play this tank as a mobile flanker. The GLD only affects tanks that are stationary... People recommend GLD because the tank shoot fast (24 rounds/min) but has slow (2.3 seconds) aiming time. I have a hard time choosing. I want this tank to be as good as it possibly can be and I think that you can probably give me better advice than other internet people. So please tell me what you would use on a tank like the Panzer III with good mobility and high rate of fire! Thank you very much for all guides and help! And thank you for your reply!
  3. Hi, I have played the su-122-54 for 103 games now, and I absolutly love the tank. Great mobility , great camo, combined with awesme DPM. So I decided to go for 3 marks. This is not my first time, I have 3 marks on type64 , bulldog, su12244 and T-10. ( got them in 2 days when I put my mind to it) But he su-122-54 is starting to prove really hard. I average 2647 damage right now and 548 avg assist. My mark is only at 86,95 percent. So , I need tips, are there certain things that help? turning of gamemodes? platoonng with light tanks? do I need to change my mindset? in what way? I have already looked at other 3 mark tips post but they are not very helpfull for TDs generaly, and not specific enough fot this tank. Equipment: optics, vents, rammer ( change for gun laying drive??) Skills : commander: sixth sense, camo, bia, recon (55%) gunner; camo, bia, repairs, designated target( 55%) driver: camo, bia, clutch braking, repairs (56%) 1st loader : camo, bia, safe stowage, adrenaline punch( 11%) 2nd loader : bia, camo( 96%) (damm crew layout!) ammo: 21/11/3, quite generous with heat in battle consumables : big first aid kit, big repair kit, extra combatrations Gamestyle in su : Initialy : either going to camp bush or spot depending on team setups and map. Middle battle : keep up with the lines of the battle and support team from around 300-400 meters End game: use mobility and DPM to farm damage , very aggresive to get as much damage as i can, trading HP for damage. Any tips? I would love to learn !
  4. Arty guide status update: haven't even started. Busy with final exams. Won't start working on it until Dec. 17... You might want to go through the different pages to search for the actual tips. As you know, posting arty guide on WoTlab forum attracts a lot of love. Hi everyone! Artillery is one of the most unique class of tanks to play. Artillery is a very powerful class of vehicles and can often determine the outcome of a battle, whether people like it or not. It doesn't matter if one is an experienced artillery player or has just begun to explore this fantastic class, discussing strategies and exchanging tips with fellow artillery players can only improve your game! Please share anything that you think helped your game and could possibly also improve other artillery players! After a few thousand games in artillery, I learned a few things myself: 1). different artilleries have different shell travel times. always count how long it takes from when you click the trigger to when the shell actually lands. Factor in the shell travel time and predict where your target will travel during that duration will significantly increase your hit ratio. If you start to feel agitated and find your shells always land after your target, take a breather and calm yourselves: this helps to stop you from counting to fast and misjudging your tanks shell velocity. For new artillery players, there are mods online, artillery reticle mods, that have shell travel time displayed on your reticle when enter arty mode. 2). study the shape of your aiming reticle. The shape of your aiming reticle while in arty mode tells you about the terrain at which you are aiming and often also tells you the angle at which your shell will land. If your reticle is a long, thin oval, it means your shell will hand closer to ground at a sharp angle; so in this case, you would aim slightly behind your target so your shell doesn't land infront and miss! If the reticle shape is a fat oval, it means your shell will come more perpendicular to the ground; so you would aim your target at middle of your reticle to increase the chance of your shell landing on top of your target, where the armor is the thinnest, to do maximum damage. 3). set up near a wall or an building. This is to combat light and medium tanks that bypass your team and try to kill you. You set up near a building or a corner is so that the tank hunting you can't see you and have to guess where you are. This means they will only spot you by proximity when they come around the corner. Because people drive very fast, they often don't react fast enough to avoid driving infront of you, which is the very moment you have almost 100% chance of nailing a hefty shell into the side of their armor and do full damage. set up near a hill or a wall so that tanks can't circle you. If they try to get around you, they'll hit the wall and be very vulnerable to your shots. 4). install xvm. The xvm is very helpful in that it identifies on the enemy team who the best players are. The best players are also the most predictable players: there are key positions on very map that they try to rush to at beginning of the game. You pre-aim at those positions or along paths that lead to them. When the good players get spotted at the very beginning of the game, you have the opportunity to nail them right away. It's crucial that you are ready IMMEDIATELY when they appear because it takes 2 seconds for their 6th sense to activate, which is also the average shell travel time for a big caliber arty gun from 800m alway. Also, having the xvm allows you to prioritize your targets. You nail the best players, who are also the main forces that push, then the rest of their team will halt their advance. Dealing 2k damage to the enemy's best players is more significant than dealing the same damage but to less important players. 5). study your target. Sometimes your target keeps reappearing at the same spot because that spot is a key strategic location on the map. You study his movements to find a pattern in his habits so that you fire at the best opportune moment to nail him. A useful tip for hitting target that pokes over a ridge, fires a shell and retreats immediately: you fire when he's on the way up the ridge to fire. This is so that your shell hits him when he exposes himself over the ridge to fire. The average aim time for a gun is like 2 seconds, so your target will stop briefly, which is when he'll be hit by your shell. The shell hitting him not only will mess with his aim, it'll also likely to track him, giving your team the chance to shoot him to pieces. Even if he repairs immediately, he still loses because he just used up his only repair pack. I have the luxury of playing object 261, the tier 10 soviet artillery almost exclusively nowadays. The games in which I participate as artillery is only in tier 10 games. Depending on your arty, the tricks that worked for me may not work as well for you. Hope other artillery players join in on the conversation and make each other better! Ignore the haters! ARTY MVP!!
  5. So.... Basically, i have about 8k battles and im a slightly above avg player. now, i mainly play light tanks. so, i noticed i usually play poor in some tanks and better in others. And i know, as many others do, you want a balanced light tank gameplay. Thats why i would really appreciate some good tips and advices. Also, take in mind that i play either as a sniper or as an agressive spotter. EDIT: i struggle alot playing the Chinese lights and practicly this is the first time EVER looking for help on maps and tank... i play as a agressive and passive scouter, and simply sniper. Unless i've learned a map by myself i will struggle to scout. Preferably i play the T49, SP 1 C and the WZ-131. I don't really have the time to write more detailed than this.
  6. I've been a lover of the tanks and that explains my huge 30k battles, but still mediocre Win performance. Lately with these missions - I've been wanting to play RT more seriously since I've never really played them before with any amount of dedication. To my horror and frustration - I find them still impossible to play with any amount of consistency. I've even gone and installed that RT mod, which helps a little - but still the aiming is aggravatingly impossible to learn. What I'd like to know - is - is there actually a way to aim reliably with RT - or are you completely at the mercy of RNG; which makes aiming a complete waste of time? Also - is the only other option - is to get a higher tier RT - that does monster damage? I really hate playing RT - and I've only got Bert (FV304) and S-51. Any tips would be appreciated.
  7. Hi Ladies and Gentle peoples!! The story so far..... I started this post back in August and since then it has became a little outdated so I thought I would redress it for you, but first please allow me to introduce myself. I am Sir Havoc, otherwise known as Pete or -APEFACE-. I am from the South East Coast of England, I am 33 years old. I have been with my partner Hannah for 9 years and together we have a little boy Frankie who is 20 months old and can sometimes be seen and heard in my videos. The turning point... I started making tutorials because I grew sick and tired of a BS attitude of some of the players in game. I wanted to help people enjoy the game more buy helping them improve. The best way I could think of doing this was simply to make a series of videos aimed beginners and bad players, however it soon turned out that some of the good players were looking this way too. What, How, Why..... I was asked by a lot of my viewers to start a clan, so I did. It is Called World of Tanks University. WoT-UNI's is now a vibrant mini community, its purpose is to give our members a completely positive and enjoyable learning experience inside AND outside of the game. We do this by first and foremost making sure our team speak is always a warm and welcoming place to be. There is no Raging or Arguing, people are allowed to make mistakes and given the autonomy to learn by them. We conduct regularly training sessions, strongholds/team battles and we run Silly/ funny games. Nothing is mandatory in our community and you join in as and when you fell like it. We do this because it creates the best environment for learning and improving and I have seen players who have joined that at first we did not know if they were bots or not because there score was so bad, achieve ACE Tanker badges on regular occasions. What do we do for those who are happy in their clans or not being in a clan? I do not want to limit the help I give to those only involved in WoT UNI. For this reason I continue to make Tutorials which I will guarantee will make you boost your stats. Since starting in August I know have over 3200 Subs on YT and it is growing fast. I have moved on from beginners tutorials to include specialized tutorials and some tank reviews. When I made my first video it was the first one I had EVER made. I am a builder so I was learning all the time. If you embark on the journey through my videos you will experience how they improve as they go as I learned more as a video maker. However the message remain the same and are just as important. If you would like to improve, take the time to go through the videos. You will not be disapointed but remember. It is not enough just to watch these. You have to implement the teachings too. The only other thing I would like to add is that I am now streaming Live on Twitch TV. I stream on Wednesdays 6:00 - 9:30pm GMT http://www.twitch.tv/sirhavoc09 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDtZ3MntnhA&list=PUYn6nC-RSPDBKmJOV65SNGw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RW1rdrzFl4c&list=PUYn6nC-RSPDBKmJOV65SNGw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pZl1vlUBDA&list=PUYn6nC-RSPDBKmJOV65SNGw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2MNgGv_nGk&list=PUYn6nC-RSPDBKmJOV65SNGwhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sXovRV3a-o&list=PUYn6nC-RSPDBKmJOV65SNGw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRbrte1lH_w&list=PUYn6nC-RSPDBKmJOV65SNGw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-7Mxqmczzs&list=PLMdR1v1A7py55xbIgz4Y5YRQBc621fKPr https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39iRpLyyt6I&list=PLMdR1v1A7py55xbIgz4Y5YRQBc621fKPr https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTpnIn2zdyU&list=PLMdR1v1A7py7iqvdezYTbWwBkgmIk6u-ehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOcwKPieMRk&list=UUYn6nC-RSPDBKmJOV65SNGw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkCV0BjLgeE&list=UUYn6nC-RSPDBKmJOV65SNGw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZ5emCudEyI&list=UUYn6nC-RSPDBKmJOV65SNGw Specialized Tutorials...
  8. I didn't have the time to make the arty guide this winter break, but I thought I owe it to the clickers whom I promised a guide... I've thought long and hard about revealing some of my positions because I was worried that people will wise up and make it harder for me to click. But, since university has started and I won't be playing for a while, why not release this! It doesn't matter if people know where I like to click, they are gonna get clicked anyways! It's basically impossible to avoid good artillery players' shots lol!!! There's a person who private messaged me in-game, and I promised to email him my arty positions. To you, sorry this took a long time. I forgot your email! So I hope you are seeing this! I annotated all the maps I think that are in play right now in pdf format. Excuse my handwriting. The file is too large for me to upload via forum, so I've attached a dropbox link. Just click it, and it'll take you to my pdf document on Dropbox! It's hard to include everything; there's just too much information that I wanted to include. Any questions or need clarifications? I'll try to answer them on forum. lol! Happy clicking! https://www.dropbox.com/s/te9a7f9a1suja97/Munchtastic%27s%20Favourite%20Arty%20Positions.pdf?dl=0 Clarification: Those positions are what I use EARLY and maybe MID-GAME. In general, I move around lots through out the battle. Don't stay in 1 place only... Generally, you want to hide behind a rock, house, or in any confined places so that if somebody tries to kill you, they have to drive in front of your gun. Take note to hide around 50m behind the corner so you don't get proxy spotted as enemy comes around the corner My steps on finding new positions: 1) go into arty mode and put reticle on a position you wish to hit. 2) double tap "R" to move forward full speed in the general direction you think a better position could be 3) if the reticle turns from red to green, it indicates the shell can travel to where you indicated 4). Congratulations! you just found a new arty position! BTW: It's possible that some immature moderator may delete this post. So, if you want to take a look at these positions later, i suggest you download the pdf and keep a copy yourself. lol

  10. Hi guys! It has been months since I posted a tips thread on how to play arty. As I promised then, since my final exams finished yesterday, I am starting to work on a detailed-artillery guide to help new struggling "clickers" to "click" better! So far, I've decided to partition my guide into 3 modules: 1). Principles of Arty Gameplay + General Clicking Advices 2). Evolved Clicking (more refined strategies of arty gameplay to help you survive against light tanks and mediums, and tips to improve your hit ratio) 3). Advanced Clicks (strategic approaches that I take in end-game situations when the game is on the line + how to adapt as the battle progresses unexpectedly) Please tell let me know on what you really are struggling with when playing artillery, and I'll keep that in mind as I construct my guide. I'll not be posting arty positions that I use; arty positions are trade-secrets that once they are leaked, they stop becoming effective. For this very reason, I advise arty players from sharing arty positions on forums at all. However, I'll provide hints and my approaches that I've used to discover new arty positions. On every map, there exist very effective arty positions. For example, on Himmolsdorf, I pull of 2.5k damage games easy on either spawn positions. Don't give up! I'll do my best to guide you in discovering your own arty positions! I'll keep you guys updated!

  12. [WoT UNI] Putting it all together guides to a great game Hello welcome to World of Tanks University, Putting it all together. This series is about putting together everything learnt from Boot Camp and The Art of Series to help deliver a outstanding performance. We start with a game in the MT25, a Tier 6 Light Tank. The map is Tundra and it is a Tier 9 game. I manage to get a Top Gun and over 2000 damage but you will see I made it look easy by good use of the minimap and tactical thinking which I explain in the commentary. Please take a look and remember to subscribe and like if you enjoy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRY-vnS7GXc&list=UUYn6nC-RSPDBKmJOV65SNGw
  13. [WoT UNI]Training Sessions and Results- How to be a Sneaky Ba$%*rd This is the first filmed training session for World of Tanks University. The training session are non compulsory and are kept short and sweet. Afterwards we have some clan on clan action then I send the boys out to practice what they have learnt in public matches. I also include in the video a game play footage of one of the lads using the newly learnt technique to get good results. This week it was all about how to peep the hills, get damage and not get shot.!! The game play footage is of Elarrow in a comet t7medium in a tier 9 game using this to good effect and Harvesting 1200 damage, he ended up with 1700 damage in the whole battle. Great result for a 800 wn7/8 player Please enjoy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pZl1vlUBDA&list=UUYn6nC-RSPDBKmJOV65SNGw Havoc

  15. I am looking for tips on grinding because I haven't done an actual grind in forever. When I get back home I am planning on grinding out the Indien panzer to the Leo 1. I would like to get tips in general about grinding and hopefully tips on the line. Also is it worth spending free xp on this line or is the Leo PTA playable stock?
  16. Hello ladies, hi guys, googling some WoT topics I found a post on http://angryjoeshow.com about WOTLabs. In simple words: Stay away from the WoT forums and join WOTLabs. At first I was very skeptical about a website encouraging those annoying "statistic prophets" – but luckily, I was wrong. I read a few topics giving really useful tips. Well done, everyone. I don't consider myself a good player. I only play because my son is such a huge fan of WoT. But with time, I finally have a tier 9 tank in my garage. My biggest problem is that too often I play emotionally and irrationally. Sometimes I need to vent off and play like a true noob, like suiscouting with my ELC – which of course is not beneficial for my stats. Despite all the things that really suck about this game (yes, there are some), I have the wish to improve – not my stats, but my gameplay. Survive (at least longer), do more damage, kill more enemies. When you begin to battle all looks so easy. But somewhen comes the point when you realize it isn't all fun and games. My son seems to know everything about every tank, when he yells at me: "You can't pen a TankXYZ at the turret. Hit the lower glacis!" – Oh, my noob... Thanks for the tips, I'll have to read them again and again and keep practicing out there on the battlefields. Good hunting, Mouse Hunter
  17. Hi everyone- really trying to improve here so I thought I'd post two of my replays that in general, probably reflect my play for better or worse. Any thoughts and criticisms would be incredibly helpful. http://wotlabs.net/na/player/CrazyHeinz http://wotreplays.com/site/352705#steppes-crazyheinz-t29 http://wotreplays.com/site/352677#tundra-crazyheinz-vk_4502_p_ausf_b My thoughts are I generally leave myself to multiple lines of fire (crossfire) and that I get too aggressive and put myself in untenable positions. Thanks! -Crazy.
