Poltto's replays │ me > superunicum ツ

Recommended Posts

This is going to be my official replay thread, the one and only.

Some info about me in WoT and why watch my replays.

I'm currently one of the best players on EU. Recent avg exp, dmg, WN8, WN7, PR and Efficiency you name it.

I play all of my games solo, with encounter and assault enabled to bring some variability to the map pool.

I play mostly T10 mediums and replays I'm going to upload will be about T10 most of the time.

I like to play tanks that are fast and thus have a chance to make the maximum impact to the game. I don't play arty or td's, f*** clickers.

My garage:

T10: Leo 1, STB-1, Obj 140, T-62A, M60, E50-M, BatChat, T110E5, IS7, AMX50B, AMX 30

T9: M46 Patton

T8: Type 59, FCM 50t, IS3

Those are the tanks I play, some I play more often than others. From heavys I play mostly E5 and I like all of my T10 mediums except BatChat.

M46 is probably my favorite tank. My favorite heavy is E5 and Type 59 are FCM are just for money making.

I do have a bad habit of typing bad words in to the in-game chat so keep that in mind. Also the occasional tk's will spice some games as well.

The man, the legend Poltto

The man with the 59% overall  :serb:

Tell me about it, need to do some work for that

But other unicums don't expect much from sub-60%er, I have the advantage over them  :doubleguns2:

Those 62a's are seriously good... Might swap my 140 for it.

I didn't play my 140 much cos I felt I wasn't doing very well in it, I didn't have any idea how to make the tank work as it should but T-62A is more straight forward imo.

Amazing turret armor really seems to make the difference like in that replay I trusted my turret armor to hold when I fought the T57 Heavy and when I peeked the E100, IS4, WT and IS8 (IS8 did pen my gun though).

In 140 it's more like ''I hope he doesn't pen my turret''. I really like the T-62A so far after the first games but I would keep them both  :)

On a more legit note:

How the hell did you get so good?
You're roughly on par with people like LuciqueII or other top RU players

I've tried emulating the stuff he does, but it either results in failure or doesn't do much to help my recent performance anyway

A lot of super unis I asked who are better than me say they just "shoot stuff" which is obviously true, but what is the secret to unlocking the last level of deep purpleness?

Thanks for the replays Poltto. I'm one that actually does watch 20+ replays in a row just so that you know we're real, like Bigfoot. :)

I think it was you who played the T-49 for funzies a few days ago and had like 90+% w/r.

PLEASE post that batch of replays.

Thanks!

5k recent!! Holy balls!!

On a serious side note, thanks for the replays. Your medium replays will be very helpful to me because heavies are not working out for me. Thank you!

I have watched LuciqueII and D1nz_ a lot. I learned from them that staying alive wins games. Like in that T-62A replay when our T57 derped I was thinking if I should run away but I didn't and it payed off.

Sometimes I feel like those ruskies are only farming dmg and padding stats (probably they are) but they still win like ~70% games solo. I don't really have any secret tricks I can share, also you are already doing so well that it's hard to say where you could improve. LuciqueII has insane situation awareness and that really shows in his plays but he also uses teammates as meat shields and blocks their line of fire just to get more dmg, I'm not so OK with that. He is still a better player than me imo.

T49? I don't play anything below T8 anymore so that must be different person. And thank you for letting me know, I'll upload more stuff when I play again ;)

Wow, I was just about to PM you asking for bigger replay packs and here you post it. Will be nice watching you! I'm going for very similar tanks so will be interesting to see how you play.

Could you explain why you don't like the batchat? Currently not enjoying the lorraine grind at all and looking for a reason to stop it. Is the batchat limited in its play because of the ammo count, clip time, gun control and low armor that caps its potential below other MT's that might not make up for the huge clip alpha? Or what do you think it is?

Autoloaders overall are unreliable and inflexible in randoms. When you shoot your clip you can't do anything for a while so you get yourself in awkward situations every now and then. Sometimes you run out of ammo that's why I have full APCR on it so I don't run into situations where I have like 2 ARCP and 3 HEAT shells left that I can't load in to the same mag. Accuracy ain't good, that's why you often run out of ammo when you try to snipe something. Armor isn't really a problem for me. Overall it's a good tank but like I said autoloaders are not my thing really.

I found some BC replays, I have played it like 5 times in 9.0. These replays are not even bad, I mean I kinda know how to play BC but no bad games is surprising

Lol, actually my clan mate and a streamer Orzanel was in this game

I haven't played BatChat much after it became T10 since it was so awesome at T9. BC was actually my first T10 medium  =-

Thanks for the BC replays! Will check em out. Might just get it for the novelty.

Another question. I noticed that on a hill game you got nuked from orbit by arty early and on a prok game you sat still-ish in a hulldown position when you knew there was arty. I've noticed that another 5000+ wn8 player who also is very prone to ignore the threat of arty. Is this you making a mistake or do you decide to gamble on the arty missing or shooting someone else to not pussy out of being aggressive? Like you had one game on Malinovka encounter where you went top of the hill and just dominated with the T-62a hulldown while there was an arty in the game that never clicked. Just makes me curious about this because I feel that when I play extremely careful to avoid arty I'm missing out on being useful to the team

It's not really worth it to be afraid of arty all the time. Arty got nerfed pretty hard so you can't spend your time avoiding arty all the time, you miss a lot if you hide. If I see arty land a shot near me then I'll do something about it (relocate or wait a bit unspotted so arty starts to aim something else). Since there was only 1 arty on Mines (if I remember correctly it was T92), I pretty much ignored it. Also I had trouble finding gun depression on that spot so I most likely got distracted. I wouldn't have stayed there very long though since it was very open spot, just wanted get couple of shots in before relocating. I checked the prokhorovka game, I only stopped (for like 1sec) to shoot the 704 and arty managed to hit me anyway so not much I could have done there

But that's arty  :serb:

Yeah yeah, prok wasn't the best example but I still think that even stopping to take 1 shot with arty looking at you can be dangerous but mostly it just stuck with me because I got sour it was a draw :). Tbh, ignoring arty feels like the consumable > fire extinguisher thing. Like you will get burnt once in a while but generally not. I'm not saying there should be a complete ignorance of arty but rather that you won't pass up some of the best hulldown locations in the game because they aren't in arty cover. Will have to try toggling the balls a bit more.

Watched some batchat replays, do you even snapshot??

I know you can save a lot of time with not aiming between shots, allowing you to dump another clip, but not penning 5-10 shots in the games I've seen that's like... Reloading 1min+ for nothing...

Also, dat 268 in Murovanka o.O  and I thought NA player base was silly  :D

Just finished my T-62A and STB-1 session, nice solo wr but I'm not too happy with everything else. I felt very tilt and made many many mistakes so ended up getting way less than I wanted

In my T10 meds I want at least 4k avg dmg and closer to 6k WN8, also I go for 70% wins.

And arty was being arty again... How is it possible that every arty hit to my T-62A is a full dmg pen??

T-62a & STB-1 replays 9.0

Arty is something you can't fully avoid, so might as well play your own game and not let the arty change your pace.

If you mean that e100 I was shooting in Murovanka, well he was very far away and angled so wasn't really worth the time to aim, better spray the shots and relocate. Also I prefer missing shots more than getting shot again by the enemy. That IS7 did piss me off since I left him alive on so low hp (in murovanka game) but I think I was afraid of the e100 or something, it was very brave engagement so I wanted to get out fast. I didn't have a repair kit because I had to use it like 20s in to the game (lol) and tracked BC is a dead one  :verysmug:.

That's pretty much how I play BC, quick engagements so I can get away fast and hopefully unharmed. If you aim fully all of your shots, you will still miss and end up taking maybe extra shot as well. In BC you have to look after your hp.

Reload is ~37s so it's not that long.

I don't play BC much so I'm not the best BC driver for sure

And the 268 knows I'm confirmed stat padder, poor guy... had me in his team

Do you have the obj 140 as well? If so, how would you describe the difference in playstyle and wich tank do you prefer? Also, I see you're turning your tank quite a lot and backing out, is it with some purpose?

I have the 140, and some day I'll buy the T62A as well, this helps a ton. :)

Well if I make a pointless 360 I'm probably thinking  , also could be me just avoiding enemy fire or arty. It's important to keep moving between reloads, you never know if someone is aiming at you.

And in the T-62A I move a lot when I try to find gun depression, I go into arcade mode and take a fast look at the ground and see if there is a small bump or something. I do this all the time, need to work for that gun depression.

I have like 30 games in 140, I got it before T-62A but crew ain't that good on it and I didn't really feel like I was doing very good job in it so I left it alone for now.

At the moment I like T-62A more, you can rely on your turret armor and the gun is also a little bit more reliable. With the T-62A you have clear pros and cons, just need to utilize those in the right way.

Obj 140 is more flexible with its gun depression and speed but I prefer having a more solid tank that doesn't get randomly penetrated to the turret. I think I'm going to practice with the T-62A more and try the 140 again after that.

Overall T-62A and Obj 140 play pretty similarly.
