WoWP Rising?

Recommended Posts

So, recently I've noticed three things in WoWP:

  1. The Missions have gotten substantially better
  2. The population level seems to be increasing. E.g. During periods when I would have expected to see 300 people online I now often see more like 400 or 500 and population levels above 1000 are a lot more common.
  3. I seem to be performing better lately.

My thoughts on the above:

With regards to 1, it seems like someone at WoWP NA finally took a hint from the WoT missions and started dishing out missions with a decently level of challenge (Excluding those shit "Earn X Base XP" missions) and good rewards (500k Silver for killing 40 fighters? +20% credit earning in my GA? Premium Consumables once a day? Me likey!).

With regards to 2, maybe more generous missions are improving player retention? Who knows! It does seem like the population is growing though.

With regards to 3, my suspicion is that either I've gotten better (somewhat likely) or the general play-base has gotten worse (more likely).

So...

What are other peoples thoughts? Does it seem like the player-base is growing and/or getting worse/better? Do you like the new missions? Does it feel like WoWP is maybe starting to pull out of the death-spiral?

1. Yes the new missions do look nice, but I still can't fly. (Too busy with other games, one of which I can't talk about)

2. Likely. However, I'm not sure if it's due to kids being on summer vacation.

3. Still debatable.   However, you may not be getting better, but rather playing against the cod/wt/.etc fanboys aka point and click scrubs.

WoWP will be pulling out of it's death-spiral once I get my Me 609 and BF 109TL back.  :verysmug:

Crossfader, Xervoz, it seems that NEITHER of you has played WoWP AT ALL. Your accounts do not reflect ANY battles either BEFORE or AFTER release.

Please don't waste everyones time with retarded one-liners when you are in no position to comment on ANYTHING in my OP.

In short: Fuck off and take some negs with you.

That is all.

EDIT: It may seem like I am being a little harsh, but the fact is that your two posts in this topic are the epitome of the kind of shit-posting that is not wanted at WoTLabs. You're more than welcome to come back with an actual opinion after you play the game.

1. Yes it seems like it

2. Once its in a spiraling death with a broken left wing, chances are it will never pull up and thats why some pilots bail out, and live to fly again, but in a different game plane.

3. Yes but youre playing ground attack aircraft and heavy fighter. Both have heavy armaments and have a tail gunner.

We(dracarys) have noticed that the general population of the game has gotten a lot worse.

That's to be expected as time goes on.

Tail gunners do more for special effects and atmosphere than they do actual damage.

I really hope WoWP becomes more popular. The Warthunder devs have become incredibly lazy since the release of their GF portion, so I'd consider increased competition a good thing.

The E3 special with the combination of 20% free XP and 5x XP for the first victory was great as well, I hope we'll see more those in the future.

I heard it wasn't a "lazy" issue.

Basically, most of the staff had to evacuate their offices (which are in ukraine) due to Russia.

Wargaming, on the other hand.. they had to do the same, but the difference is that it is a larger company and it has design studios all over the place, not just ukraine.

Always thought Gaijin was based in Russia, although that would certainly explain things. Thanks for the info.

OMG, now it dawns on me: WG bribed Putin to invade Ukraine in order to get rid of Warthunder!

Go easy on the tinfoil......But it would be ironic if that were the case, WoWP has a clear US and German bias, so I don't find Putin wanting to play something that doesn't glorify the USSR.

I dunno about rising WoWP player  levels.
For me it went like this: Wants to play WoWP. Downloads launcher. Starts launcher. Launcher closes automatically while not terminating the process (task manager ftw). Tries again. Still does not work. Considers not playing WoWP.
I mean seriously? The first impression of the game is a bugged launcher I first need to work around?

On the other hands I know about friends (who hated WoT) who now like playing WT.
On th other hand most of the people I know who play WoT don't want to touch WoWP at all. Jingles did good work covering that. :beard:

Wat?

"Gaijin Entertainment is the largest independent video game developer in Russia. Founded in 2002, Gaijin Entertainment employs more than 100 people, consisting of industry thought leaders and highly qualified specialists programmers. Gaijin Entertainment has offices located in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Voronezh and Sevastopol and in 2013 opened a new office in Germany. "

PS For those wondering only Sevastopol was in Ukraine.

The first time you run WoWP the launcher can be a bit sluggish. Just be patient, it will do its things. If its still in Task Manager and responding then it's working. Trust me, I went through this a couple of times and then opted for "patience" and it worked eventually :-)

No.

Cmon... try it. Even though it is bad ( physics, ability to kill ships with a biplane most retarded thing I done) youll probably get the "hang of it".

Thanks for the heads-up. I had really given up even though I really want to try WoWP and was quite pissed when the launcher didn't seem to work.

I will give it some time and see how that works out.

The launcher doesn't work for me either.  I use a shortcut to the EXE, which also helps when the game crashes (common after some patches).

Regarding the OP: it's summer.  Lots of kids trying F2P games.

Good point! I hadn't thought of that. Winter here in SA :-)

WTF? If you are going to hate on the game, go for it. But talking sh*t about stuff you obviously have no clue talking about is another. Who would have thought that the most famous, arguably, ship of the war being crippled by a biplane and their use throughout the Second World War as naval reconnaissance/bombers would make it retarded to have in game.

O, my bad. Maybe I should lay out the facts for you because you obviously have no clue. The Bismarck was crippled by a Swordfish. These same aircraft were used in the Mediterranean, sinking ships of all things, to great effect.
