Welcome to the thread.  Please enjoy everything here!  It's been painstakingly put down by every contributor.  Everything here is from real people.  Real experiences.  It's amazing.

I'm not sure I would say that. I'm like 90% sure vac is a communist robot in disguise. :fat:

I'm going to compile a NSFW "This shit happens" post op guide I think.  It's 4 AM and I'm just going over recent things like "Fucking christ I wish someone told me."  Not bad things.  Just very scary things when all of a sudden you frankly do not know how your body works in a sexual manner anymore.  I really have to give my surgeon credit.  Holy shit.

I'll speak further in PM's if anyone wants to know while I write.

@AnArmyofBun I look forward to reading that. It sounds quite interesting.

@An_Arty_Player_Hits_You here is  a less silly explanation. This thread is basically a small community of trans people that chat, share stories, and answer questions. It initially started off as just bun but more people have come out here to include alesia, verity, CiD/vac, and myself. There are a lot of wonderful stories in here and I would encourage you to read through it or at least skim over it for the interesting bits. Feel free to ask and questions you might have. This thread isn't the cancer that is tumblr, we are just normal people dealing with a medical problem, and we aren't going to jump on you for any questions you might ask.

Also yesterday I scheduled my first ever doctor's appointment by myself! It is with a therapist in Orlando on November 9th so yay. :disco:

Just returned from my friendly local medical facility!

I've got a referral to a therapist, and the enthusiastic support of my primary care provider. I'm absolutely ecstatic over how well that appointment went.

I know this is about to get immensely more complex, seeing as I live and work within a giant bureaucracy, but this moment, right now, is simply amazing.

Again.  Just going to mention it. Dr. Rumer of Rumer Cosmetics does amazing work.  For anyone considering what I've had done?  Go to her.  Many many reasons.

Did you do both your augmentation and GCS through them or just one of them? Also may I ask what your cost was? I would be interested in hearing more about your many reasons though I suppose it will be a pretty good amount of time before any of your kittens (baby buns) would see her.

I went through just the GCS with her.  Augmentation I had done in Virginia.  Though by her work I'd say her augmentation would be really worth it as well.  My cost for GCS was $21,500 USD.  I split it between credit/cash.  The hospital only takes cash/credit but Dr Rumer takes care credit.  Her work is superb, the scarring is minimal and everything *works*.  all of it works.

Many concerns are over the ability to be wet.  She preserved that ability in me Extremely well.  My nerve function is great and my look is very natural.  Its been seven months and the final healed results aren't 100% visible till a year.  Even now though it's been quite a thing.  Maybe, maybe not.  It can be done quickly if you have the credit.  When you consider the cost it looks like a lot.  However insurance is getting better.  Dr Rumer performed the first one done by insurance in NY as well.  So, she will be open to it.

I was meaning more so that none of us have started HRT yet and it would be at lesst two years after starting that unless WorPATH has changed things recently. The price while high really isn't bad since we were expecting the cost to be roughly twice that much. Also at that point insurance will very likely be different (unless some university decides they really want to pay for me to get a doctorate) just because I'll finish my masters degree before then. Though it is looking like at this point pretty much nothing will be covered (it apparently used to be but insurance benefits have been slashed because of taxes and fines so thanks Obama).

They have. SOCv7 is far, far less restrictive in pretty much all regards.

Yes that's true.  However.  The pathway from HRT to surgical options can come up much more quickly than you think, especially if you set a plan to do it.  That's what I did, I made a plan and stuck to it and pushed for it. It's a matter of a few things.  Focus, effort, sacrifice and circumstance.  Generally speaking humans can get a lot done when they really put their minds to it.  Being if its 1-2-3 or 1-58.  You know?  I'm just here to offer my experiences now.

That reminded me of the storks movie "make a plan, stick to the plan, always deliver" with this guy (junior I think).

At least in what I currently have planned (now that I've finally actually gotten started) it would be best if I started HRT in  late November early December (which is rather close now because I suck at communication and things) which would work well with school for when things like full-time would start when I returned for my last semester of masters as well as it would give me roughly a month break then if breast augmentation were needed (which is really a toss up looking at my family since if I take after my moms side I might have almost no growth but if I take after my dads side I might wind up almost the size of bun though it would likely be required). Things after that are a bit less planned out for when things would be but the following December would likely be the earliest time just because of time available whether I am working in my own company, working for another company or something like NASA, or in some doctoral program (either teaching or not).

Though I know what things I can get down when I really push at things basically designing one of my engines in pretty much a couple days and the rest of the couple weeks sorting out issues with the manufacturer and then the last five months trying to figure out of how to concentrate the hydrogen peroxide (which I finally got to 84% so yay even if I only made 30mL on this first batch).

My mother came up for a visit and we went out and got dinner as well as some ice cream. Then we had a nice long conversation where she asked a lot of questions about me and the whole trans thing. Some were more normal questions  like how long I've known, various experiences, relationships, etc. Other were off the wall like one question about circumcision and some were completely unrelated like if I think I have Asperger's or Tourette's since I have some ticks like random arm twitches, squeaks, and the occasional thing that sounds like a startled shout (which at least at this point I'm actually aware of as there was a point when I was completely unaware of the twitches just that my hand might suddenly hurt or my pencil, keys, cookie, sandwhich etc was suddenly across the room and can mostly prevent at least for a couple seconds to get things out of the way). We also talked about things unrelated to any of that like what they did for Halloween (since it is the holiday they take most seriously) and things like thesis and school and such. It was a lovely conversation.

@Inciatus That doesn't really sound like Aspergers just based off that description. Normally its more dodgy motor controls than random spasms least as far as movement is concerned.

Been having some long talks with my SO about what I'm going to do.  Really haven't been able to come up with anything meaningful aside from "leave" but that doesn't give me a plan or even where I would go to.

So yesterday I did something I'm quite proud of. I went to the beach and at this time of the year the beaches are normally empty (past the time the natives go to the beach but before the snowbirds appear). I decided to go out as a girl, for the first time ever, and work on fixing my tan lines and actually getting some reading done at the beach. There were a couple people there but it was still very empty and things went quite well so I'm quite happy about that. I don't think in the hour I was there that my legs actually did anything in terms of tanning or burning though.

Fairly relevant picture of fuzzy at beach :fat:

After coming back from the beach I actually just felt very content and happy and comfortable with how I looked at that point and it was very nice. And in an unfortunate turn of events immediately after reaching probably one of the most comfortable states I can remember actually being I had to take everything off because I was going to go to lunch (though it turned out I could have waiting like 15 minutes since they were running late).

That's why I need to tan them. Fortunately I tend to tan pretty well rather than burn even with very pale skin as well as freckle.

It's actually a wig, my hair is slowly growing but it is still pretty short probably only like three inches long at this point. It would be longer but at one point during the summer I shaved it all off.

Today I had my appointment with the therapist. I was really nervous and excited and hungry (I didn't get a chance to eat and just scarfed down a bag of m&m's that was in my car). After talking for a bit I felt a lot calmer and we talked about various things like what I do, friends, family, support, my goals and plans and such. Turns our we are both nerds/geeks/dorks just slightly different kinds which helped to form a connection. This thread did get an honorable mention in our talk today. It all went very well which I am very happy about. She also approved an HRT letter so yay!
