So I checked around the site a bit -- it appears literally nothing worthwhile was poasted while I was on RO, as usual.  But here's what I've been up to:

 

 

First things first.  I haven't watched the show at all this season, because I am impatient.  I will download and binge watch it next week, probably.  Still, I've heard some disturbing rumors.  This calumny shall not be tolerated in my thread.  I know Stannis would never do such evil things.  He is the Chosen of the Lord, and the true King.  And I've read the fucking books.  If its not in there, it never happened.

 

Second, despite the degeneracy of it I decided to finish off my T-55 missions casually, and pick up 3 MOE on the tanks I enjoy most.  So far I have vk3001P, T-54, T20...

...and WZ-131.  I switched between 85 and 100mm, still can't decide which is better in which tank.  Its a hard call -- I can't see a clear winner either in my performance or preference.

 

My 4k wn8 challenge is long since over, but I am still "improving" quickly.  The tanks I am playing most now are:  WZ-131, Type 62, T-54L, T-54, T20, T-34-1, AMX 30p, and assorted other shit.  I need to pick up a stronk heavy for the final T-55 missions and a good TD to power through them.  I have also considered getting 5k or 6k recent.  5k I could hit with a reasonably sane mix of tanks, but 6k will require me to play panzer 54 or E50 or 131 all the time, most likely.  Not sure I'm that autistic, especially since I've already established how much of a joke 4k recent is.

 

Speaking of light tanks, I was considering doing reviews of each of these I play most.  I was gonna do 100 games in each and a review, then I remembered solono was a faggiot.  But it had been a while since I had played lights much -- I quite enjoy them, although my first love will always be soviet wedge mediums.  But some of the new power creeped lights are pretty close to a legitimate wedge, a lot better than the old T-50-2 model scouts of my era.  Still, its pretty damn hard to carry in lights, so even 60% feels like an achievement and 65% feels like my peak.  And that blows.

 

What else...I beat the new SC campaign, its not bad at all.  Feels very polished and interesting, but SC isn't interesting to me as a competitive game so for me its play through the story and then let it sit.  I saw Jurassic World -- it feels far less deep or unique compared to the first one.  Almost like a B movie.  Yet for what it is, it was excellent.  Good visuals, good flow, well done overall and worth watching.  I also strangely want to buy a after seeing it.

Given more limited view range games on some re-vamped maps, are there any mediums (or other tanks), that you would now forgo optics on, and take something else (such as vents)?

(3) Stannis is awesome, but fuck Melisandre. She's some sort of fanatic being duped by something sinister, IMO.

(4) I don't get the idea that the original Jurassic Park is any sort of deep sci fi. It abuses a misunderstanding of chaos theory to dumb it down to "bad shit will magically happen to screw your safety systems up". It never was more than spectacle to me - good spectacle, but surely surpassed by the current iteration.

I really liked Jurassic World's use of the raptors; it never lets you forget they are ferocious animals, but at the same time makes them sympathetic enough that you care about what happens to them.
