WHY RELIC?

• RELIC is a long standing clan within World Of Tanks.  We've built a quality community that survives and thrives through good times and bad.
• We aim to develop potential, have fun, and excel at the game in both individual combat & in Clan Wars. We also strive to maintain high standards, respect, and competence in all battles we are engaged in.
• Our leadership values team-play and strongly encourage our members to co-ordinate and communicate effectively.
• We are interested in quality over quantity.  We get to know our members as friends and comrades.

What Relic expects from you:

•  As a member you will understand the Relic Community rules, attempt to actively participate in (or at least lurk on) our community website, uphold our standards in ability, competence and conduct.
•  You need to be available for training and clan wars on a regular basis (real life allowing).
•  Members should be able to follow commands, perform to their potential, respect teammates and enjoy winning.  Members should also be thick skinned and be willing to take criticism.
• You will need to install and use Teamspeak 3. TS is a must for Clan Wars and preferred at all other times, you must have TS for all clan events, even if you can only hear and cannot speak, our TS is also open to the public.

What you can expect from Relic:

• Access to our forums, Teamspeak server and our community.
• A group of like minded players to platoon with, grind XP and credits for next tier tanks, share tips/advice on tanks and gameplay, or just sit around on TS chatting about your latest pub battle.
• Clan War battles and plenty of them.
• Sound leadership, with proven records and a drama free environment.
• The chance to lead, we're always looking for our members to step up.

Requirements to join the Relic Community

Remember these are just our guidelines and nothing is set in stone. Even if you meet the requirements for stats and tanks you still have to go through an evaluation process and be approved by our members as well.

Relic Main

  • At least 5 viable CW tanks with respectable DPG.  We don't care how good you are at your E-50.  How's your IS-7 and Batchat?
  • Must be interested in and participate in Clan Wars and Strongholds.
  • Available 3-4 nights per week.  You must use Teamspeak
  • 3000 Recent WN8+, Minimum 2000 Overall WN8
  • Winning is more important than WN8.  60%+ Recent and 57%+ overall
  • Character and personality rating (CR and PR) are important, we guess.

Relic 3rd

  • Above 2350 60 day WN8
  • At least 54% win rate
  • At least 3 tier 10 clan wars viable tanks and display proficiency in them.
  • Available 3+ nights a week for clan wars
  • At least 1800 overall WN8

Rel_O

  • If you have less than 8000 games played, above 1800 60 day WN8
  • If you have more than 8000 games played,above 2000 60 day WN8
  • 53%-54% win rate
  • Minimum 1 Tier 10
  • Minimum 1600 average WN8
  • Available 3+ nights a week for clan wars

Requirements are more like guidelines than hard requirements.  We're looking for people with potential that we can build up into great players, teammates, and friends.

While you may apply to a specific division, there is a chance you will be accepted and placed into a different division we feel you will be better suited for at the time of your application. This doesn't mean we think you'r awful or that you'll be in that division forever.  We are a bit of a ladder clan community and you can certainly get good and climb up.

How much alone time do we get with Loz when we apply?

Loz is a fair and compassionate clan leader who spreads himself around the clan with reckless abandon.  It's one big orgy of Kentish accent.

I was thinking about applying to REL-A when I get my T110E5, but I noticed that their requirements state that you have to have less than 8,000 battles. Is this a hard rule that would prevent me from joining?

Nope, not a hard rule just a guideline.  And if you're close to unlocking your E5 you can go ahead and apply.  You'll unlock your tank much faster if you have a steady group of folks to platoon with while learning.

Got some good people and a few friends there.

Nope, for Aux it is actually no more than 8,000 battles.  The reasoning behind it is that most folks who have 8000 battles and haven't met the other requirements for Aux are not likely to change their old habits and improve at the pace Aux expects of them.  The old "Can't teach an old dog new tricks" routine.

Alright, we'll just say my first 5,000 battles didn't happen. hehe. I'll apply later this week, once I get my TS and things in order.

Ditch this reasoning.

The Aux requirements aren't my personal doing.  I'm just posting them.  I'll bring it up to management because yeah the same thing for me.

They're just guidelines for what we're looking for in terms of Aux. 2nd/3rd aren't as lenient, but Aux sure it.

Heck, I joined Aux when the requirement was to have 3 tier 8s, I had one tier 7 and was fully yellow. Someone had me call for some reason, quickly became a DC, retired....and I've been having an extramarital affair with Lozarus ever since.

Edit:
I forgot to mention that everyone wanting to get into 2nd will be mandated to grow a beard.

I understand the reasoning behind it and the under 8k game limit keeps decent players that have a lower potential ceiling from crowding out future purples. My 60 day might possibly touch blue one day, but it's unlikely it will ever hit purple and that limits my value compared to a 18 year old who is already hitting my numbers in 1/3 the games.

Relic is a well run operation, kidding aside I wonder if Lozarus carries his management/leadership skills over into his real life?

I've found age isn't much of a factor in this game outside of CW time availability.
We've had 14 year old unicums as well as 60+ blurples. Those two extremes can be quite valuable players as they both tend to have increased activity and opposite yet complimentary play-styles.
You have the aggressive potential of a younger player's medium play complimented by the patience of an older play'er artillery and td play, yet the stereotype can often be seen reversed.

When I have a new potential recruit or Aux graduate ask me how they can improve their gamplay I'll ask them how many vs how many this game is.
The format of this game may confuse people into thinking pubs are a 15 v 15 match, when they're really a series of 2v2s and 3v3s, 4v2s and 1v3s. This game is a series of mini-engagements where your tank's HP caries through each engagement. As Anfield once said "Tanks is 90% decision making, 10% having the skill to carry those decisions out." (paraphrased of course). When you're playing take time to look at the minimap and ask yourself if you best serve your team in that particular mini-engagement, or if you'd serve better relocating to another engagement. Anfield actually had a very good positioning series on his youtube channel that is worth a watch.

Or you could be like me, have massive over extension issues and die early in a medium tank or TD. (I really should just only play heavies).
The point being you can easily still get your recents blurple.

Loz is a retired married baker whose wife doesn't know we go down saarf on eachotha like good ol' china plates.

The above has been a random though process of a tipsy beard.

Hey scumbag, you reached your potential dou. :)

Honestly, no it doesn't translate... i have 4 kids and my house is clean for approx 25 minutes a day, i put one half of dinner in the overn and leave the other half on the side and forget it until the fist half is burnt, we run out of toilet paper constantly, and i have to use babywipes to clean my arse (delicate anus) i occasionally forget to pay the Internet bills and end up having very angry phone calls to "Dave" the Indian call centre guy from Bangalore, in time to get on for Clan Wars... i have not worn a pair of socks that matched for 3 years, and occasionally i have to use Icing Sugar in my tea because i do my shopping from memmory, i don't write lists.

Basically, RELIC is "well ran" because its adaptive and uses Ad Hoc common sense throughout, we don't live and die by black and white rules, but we stick to our principles of basically having a group of people playing tanks together, winning more than we lose, enjoying eachothers company more often than not, and being totally racist towards Anime.

Enjoy the picturesque garden of England that is Kent.
