JackQueRudo's *Casual* Q&A Thread

Recommended Posts

Self bump. Didn't want to make a new thread on this. I've picked up the WZ120 recently just to have fun. Since I've been spending most of my time over at my gf's, it took me a while to get up to shake off the rust.

Replay pack here (first 2 are truly awful)

This is where I'm sitting at now, and I reckon I can only get better from here. Plus I played it too much like the 121 with the snapshotting...the 120 actually needs to aim...

How do you think the WZ-120 compares to the T-34-3?

Better in every way imaginable except for limited matchmaking (even with that the T34-3 isn't that great). The WZ120 is very competitive across tiers and has no issues facing T10s, whereas the T34-3 has issues with T8s as it is let alone T9s.

Hey jacky, rate my skills as a helocopter pilot :P

I wouldn't want to insure you :disco:

Also on a side note, I tend to play better when I'm intoxicated

beer if I have any in the fridge, for summer. Then it's straight scotch all the way. Currently working on Auchentoshan triple wood

Good man. I love me a good scotch drink as well. I'll have to try that triple wood one of these days.

There's an interesting scotch tasting technique I learned a while back from one of the world's biggest scotch collection owners I ran into in Vegas. Basically told me, don't go for the smell right away. Take a small sip, hold in your mouth for 25 seconds and then swallowing tiny increments of 5 gulps separated by 3 seconds. Then you can go in for the smell and start sipping it. You should give it a try. Don't know how it works so well but you can really pick out the flavors from this technique.

I feel like having it come up from your throat while smelling it definitely adds dimensions to the drink. I've never actually done it though, I'll try it next time!

25 seconds is a long time! Will try it out.

Islay whiskeys have been my favorite for years, I love the smokeyness. Recently I started drinking Japanese whiskey, Yamazaki, Yoichi, and I recommend them if you havent tried. A 12 year Japanese whiskey seems to be on par with a 16 or 18 year old Scottish one.

I drink nikka pure malt and hakushu 12 occasionally. I feel like they're fantastic

On the other hand, I got bored tonight *HEADPHONE USERS BEWARE*

Ive only tried the single malt nikka. The hakushu is great as well. Those two and the Yamazaki are available locally in Sweden. I tried finding a good store for Japanese whiskey when I went to San Francisco with work earlier this year, but I came up short after searching Japantown.

Ive bought the Yamazaki 12yo the most so I guess that makes it my favorite. There's an 18yo as well, my heart says go but my wallet says no. Maybe now that Ive stopped spending my money on Löwes and free exp..

Best Wot Name Ever, tear or not.

I don't get the Yamazaki here in Vancouver unfortunately, so I've only had it when I go on trips or head to special bars.

For those interested, 13 more replays for the WZ120

Was having some trouble making the 120 work after about 15 games was sitting at 2.2k avg damage, so I watched a bunch of your replays, blew my mind how patient you are when things look dicey early game, took my time and slowed down a bit and it really ramped up the damage output, now 3.1k for the last 8 games, also picked up the autoaim+quick reverse to get that extra little bit of depression, thanks for the great pack!

You're welcome man. The trick with the 120 is definitely knowing you're not there to solo anyone (alpha is good, dpm not that good). The biggest thing is to actually study the terrain very well. I've had the privilege of studying most of the maps through the 121 before I had the 120.

The replays are amazing, especially how you keep working the terrain to be able to get shots off. I'm fumbling around in my T-34-3 when I try to find good spots.

Would you say that you learnt individual spots on maps over time or did you get a more general feel for where to go with tanks with (almost) no gun depression?

There are spots that I use religiously from past experiences in the 121. However most of the positions you just have to look at the shape of the ground, since even one small bump can give you enough depression for a split second to fire.

For tanks with little gun depression, you have to know where NOT to go more than where you can go. Understanding firing lanes and exposure if way more important imo

I'm learning the hard way. Sometimes playing the t-34-3 is almost kafkaesque, Ill flail around in an area without getting shots off. But its very rewarding when I find the little bumps, or slopes, or manage to flank someone with that alfa.

Your replays will help my sanity and sanitize my performance.
