FTR: PVE mode on a HUGE map incoming

Recommended Posts

Take a look at the minimap picture. How will you be able to destroy that SP convoy line at such large map (i know u are attacking SPs but there are 5 of them)... i guess only slow tanks won't be the best in this case.

I wonder what stupid things the Ai will do. Too bad it's a t8 thing and up. 152mm derp and clustered AI tanks would work nice.

btw. A way to grind your arty without commiting war crimes?

I look forward to play this in a platoon. Due to the size of the map mediums with penetration >200 mm can be the top farmers. Probably my IS-3 will also fit.

It would be amusing if WG took botting software and modified it for use in this mode.

Cos cutting corners to maximise profit is the WG way.

I doubt it. I got banned on my 1st acc for trying to prove a point and showing WG doesn't do crap for bots. The bots would be waaay too stupid. Even a well programmed existing bot would be annoying to fight because of that.

Looks interesting.  Any chance WG will apply their map viagra to other maps for PvP play, or release this map for the PvP rotation?

Bigger maps = light tank buff?

This will be an riot: the bots fire without aiming, the clickers can be stalled if you sneak up on them and remain out of their line of fire, and we're fighting aimbots who fire WHILE moving. Must...get...IS-3...

I've been considering taking a break from the game. The overwhelming number of baddies players even worse than myself has gotten on my last nerve.

This might entice me back (if I actually take that break).

And here's the kind of "hidden truth" in this mode.

They can make 2km maps now.

Didn't they always say the engine limited the map size?

Does this mean they are finally going to change to the new one?

Are we going to actually see new, larger maps finally?

Hmmmmmm.

To be honest: larger maps do require more manpower, so we may see a 20 vs 20 (or higher) pub match in the future.

Larger maps with more than 3 funnels might require more manpower but right now the funnel design effectively diminishes the size of maps to ~1/3 of their actual size anyway. Add the "pretty mountains and un-climable clutter" that they're using on a lot of maps now where huge blocks of the map are unusable aesthetic additions and we're only using 20% of a lot of maps.

If they would open them up a bit and let actual flanking and strategy be viable it probably wouldn't matter.

But if they can't/won't do that, at least give us some room to work with.

My guess is ideal comp would be 1/2 fast tanks (for flex and arty hunting), 1/4 autoloaders, 1/4 heavies (IS-6/3, possibly T32 if there are some good hulldown spots).

Maus only has, what? 185mm side armor? Sucks.

Don't forget:

Shooting the front sprocket means you can semi-reliably penetrate with 200mm penetration:

and the rear sprocket can get penetrated... by an SU-85B

When will this format will become active?

Based on the early leak of the Panther Ausf F 88 in what, June? And that's coming 2 patches from now in January 2015?

Well it's October now so *does math* Tax Day 2015? Assuming that coincides with a patch. I guess 9.8 or so.

And all I would assume is that the game mode WILL last one patch, but it's basically a historical 50/50 if this new game mode lasts any longer than that, or is fully fleshed out from day 1.
