Hi, my name is Stevoni and I'm a tomato.

 

A brief history: I played last summer for fun only and had a Lowe and T34 purchased for me by my 20th game. I stopped because of a multimonitor bug and then started playing again this fall and began caring about how bad I am. This week I ran into a unicum and he recommended I come here to learn how to be better.

 

Hopefully I'll be able to overcome my terrible premium tanks education. So far, I've come from a WN8 of 200 in September to 611 (840 recent)

Let your thirst for knowledge have no bounds!  The Purple Poster Interaction Centre has a lot of great info from some of the best players, so be sure to check it out.  If you have any questions, or want to try platooning with some more experienced players, just go ahead and ask, most of us are friendly enough and would love to help

So, I recommended Stevoni come here. He did the one thing that the vast majority of players I see in game don't do: he asked me at the end of the game what he should have done differently. I PM'd him after the battle to discuss the basics of why that particular move (Lakeville valley push, FWIW) was not a good idea, and I suggested he start here. Stevoni seemed genuinely to want to get better at the game, and this is the place to be.

 

Oh, and my recommendation? Try to drop back a couple of tiers and practice good techniques at tiers 5-7 before going back to 8. Tiers 8 and up are unforgiving. Don't be in a hurry to climb the tech tree.

Yeah, I would've mentioned you but didn't want to name drop. I hate name droppers...

 

After speaking with you about medium tanks, the T-44 has been much better this weekend. My WN8 average for the tank has increase by almost 150 points.

 (I couldn't figure out how to get just a list of the matches and the WN8 for them at vBaddict). I flat lined earlier tonight because of a few potato matches where I got out of position in T9/T10 battles.

 

I know you want me playing lower tiers, and I am (through the frustration), but I just unlocked the T-54 and its turret and gun (D-54). The T-44 is just so much more fun than the Fury, the M4, or VK 30.02 D.

 

Edit: Two games in, I'm training the crew back for the T-44.   I'm amazed how different a T9 & T10 game is from a T8-T10 game.

Hi and welcome! I'm enrolled like you in the school of T44 hardknocks and it's been a learning experience. I highly recommend it helped me tons lately. Also I feel like the T44 is a great learning tool especially in t9-10 games since any mistake I make usualy results in swift death. I hope this place helps you as much as it does for me.

Thanks for the tip. I stumbled across that thread my first night and it's been invaluable. This weekend I only seem to maps that weren't "documented" in the thread, so I typically moved into a supporting role.

If you are playing 1000 WN8 in your T-44/54 then you don't really need to drop down. You aren't a boat anchor.

Hi! I'm also a bit of a tomato, still working my way through things. Where I live right now, the internet is terrible, so I don't play much, but I'm trying to make up for it with research and the like.
