Garbad 10,517 Share Posted December 31, 2014 So tonight I finished my walker bulldog grind...and its just plain fantastic. Its the only light tank out there right now that I don't think is fucked by the MM -- its well balanced to be a competitive, scouty light tank even when viewed as a regular tier 8 tank. But now I have to make a difficult decision...do I keep the Walker, and use it as a fun "tier 8" or sell it and get the T49? Tier 8 is a hard tier atm, thanks to the superabundance of tier 10s. It also has no value in stronks or tournaments, as far as I know. It would purely be a fun tank for when my platoonmates wanted to grind 8s. On the other hand, the T49 might get stronk action...but probably not much. Its mainly just the lulz of a megaderp on a tiny tank. But a lot of people love it. So which do I keep? Shortcult 370 Share Posted December 31, 2014 I fail to understand, why not keep both? One may be more 'useful' than the other, but you have to have some fun tanks to soothe the pubbie rage. I might be biased, 126 tanks in the garage, I never sell a tank I enjoyed.
SchnitzelTruck 3,600 Share Posted December 31, 2014 I sold bulldog and got the t49 for one reason only... There are a metric shit ton of autoloader LTs and the t49 truly is unique.
Haswell 2,399 Share Posted December 31, 2014 T49 is much less fun than the Bulldoge.
Luna 3,443 Share Posted December 31, 2014 The M41 is also really popular for team battles, being one of the best T7s out there at the moment. T49 is gimmicky. I've ground through the M41, but don't plan on getting the T49. I'd say just stay at the T7 and call that good.
Masterpupil2 946 Share Posted December 31, 2014 -G- does strongholds?
cheesyhoney 293 Share Posted December 31, 2014 I actually hated the walker bulldog. Sold it an haven't researched the t49 yet. IMO the t37 is a better tank, due to the gun handling
Ollie Tabooger 614 Share Posted December 31, 2014 I'd keep the bulldog, purely on the merit of the devs potentially reworking MM to NOT screw over Tier 8s. The T49, I know for sure, wouldn't be used that much, and I wouldn't really enjoy it either way.
LemmingRush 192 Share Posted December 31, 2014 -G- does strongholds? Yeah I remember watching a strim where bluestealth was the caller of a stronk.
Pompous 301 Share Posted December 31, 2014 I kept my T37, Bulldog, and T49, but have since sold the Bulldog since I never really found a deep love for it. The T37 is insane in terms of performance, especially relative to the old chaffee with even kinder MM. The T49 is more.. unique, fun, special, whatever you want to call it. It's a laugh. If you're really enjoying the Bulldog, i say keep it. The t49 is very, very polarizing. Some people absolutely hate the lack of consistency involved in a tier 8 derp light tank, some love it. It's not really something we can help you with honestly, it'll be up to you to try it and see if it's your thing. Probably worth playing 10~ games on a test server whenever that happens. zippy_the_cat 10 Share Posted December 31, 2014 No dilemma that I see. I'm committed to keeping all the new American lights except the T49, which may or may not be a keeper, depending on whether I can live with the derp. The Bulldog is an obvious keeper, so much so I spent the gold for perma-paint. The T49 on the other hand is outclassed by other tier 8 lights, namely the Ru-251.
EchelonIII 1,255 Share Posted December 31, 2014 The T49 is a terrible T8 light for carrying, but there's too much lulz
DyingDyingDead 138 Share Posted December 31, 2014 t49 is absolutely trash for carrying. The gun is anger inducing. Its fun 1/3 matches for me. I sold it, but want it back. Its incredibly annoying when a 1390 yolo's you and your shot pulls a fuck you and hits him for 300 and then he just clips you out. Or you get a fully aimed rearshot on a ru 251 at 50 meters and it hits the dirt. Or you come around the rear of a leopard, aim for 2 secs, shoot at less than 30m and it flies to fucking saturn. I had these three specific instances happen to me during about a 5 game session, thus my t49 left my garage. T49 is only fun if you can handle a derpy tank that cant carry. However, before it started acting up I liked it, but for some reason ever since 9.5 it has had the worst rng possible.
SFC_Storm 58 Share Posted January 1, 2015 So which do I keep? I`d say the M41 is gonna get nerfed into oblivion, so for now keep the m41 and enjoy it as it lasts. Then go back to the T49. I was so surprised how much I loved the T49 with the 90mm. It really is a laser beam and has some handling advantages over ru251, but mainly it spits those rails at huge and safe depression. Also using the X Turret saves huge amounts of weight and makes it great. m one of the few guys who think the 90mm is great and in some ways better than the RU. I was avging about 1900 DMG per game before CW and before derp. Its a shame they said it will never get the 90m normal AP round but that 250 mm HEAT is lethal. Autoaim and forget. Anyways im almost sure its Nerf proof as well, and really without the derp people thingk its harmless and get raped by it. Better one is I will shoot and an enemy will rush in thinking he has 25 secs for reload to kill me. 1500 DMG later the poor T34 is meat. Keep m41 now to demolish guys and get rdy to sell it as they nerf it. P.S The T49 with 90mm feels like a 140 or 62a mixxed with a M46 and had a little baby. You could use Ru but TBH the depression takes planning as it can only go to the sides where the t49 is flexible. @The guys who say the T49 is trash at carrying or just trash, watch Jacg play his. Its not a joke or "Fun" tank. He straight up owns in it. And I understand he is one of best light players but im sure if he can do it, so can many others to at least some degree. Farwell 18 Share Posted January 1, 2015 You can carry some games in the t49. You can carry all games in the Bulldog.
TheMarine0341 4,973 Share Posted January 1, 2015 T49 is a fun platoon tenk. I really would just grind a new crew for that one, and keep the Bulldog. Bulldog is too perfect
Victrix 2,299 Share Posted January 1, 2015 T49 is hilarious. But you should not sell the bulldog. Just move the crew. That way you're saving money for when you want to play the bulldog again.
kunjuro 277 Share Posted January 1, 2015 The M41 might be hilarious to play but aren't there other tanks that are as equally fun to play and frankly better than it? The T49 might not be as great in its tier but it offers a unique playstyle and a different kind of fun derping people around Just my 2 cents.
Victrix 2,299 Share Posted January 1, 2015 The t49 is the ultimate peekaboom flanking tank. Was able to hit the engine deck of a prot, for 950~ and set him on fire to finish him off. My waifu
SFC_Storm 58 Share Posted January 1, 2015 You can carry some games in the t49. You can carry all games in the Bulldog. This is true, but its clear the Walker is gonna get nerfed and hard. Sorry to say but when the RUskis see there lights become dwarfed at every turn by a truly Semi-Op tank....You better believe that is gonna get the M48 treatment. T49 is hilarious. But you should not sell the bulldog. Just move the crew. That way you're saving money for when you want to play the bulldog again. Exactly this. Just keep the one crew man and as they get super duper high up 90% training will be fine. Im almost 100% certain M41 is gonna get nerf hard, where im almost sure T49 if anything will get small buff. The t49 is the ultimate peekaboom flanking tank. Was able to hit the engine deck of a prot, for 950~ and set him on fire to finish him off. My waifu Yeah this is true, watch Jacg in it. He sits there and circles enemies like a shark, then he isolates lone ones3x crits them + 700 DMG and repeats. True it might not be a finisher but the T49 actually can help its team tons by scouting as well as crippling enemy waffles and soon enemy 4005`s and other paper tanks. Has anyone here tried it with the 90? With good creds its very fun.
Prosqtor 114 Share Posted January 6, 2015 Now really, aren't ALL of the new lights kinda OP?
kariverson 180 Share Posted January 6, 2015 Now really, aren't ALL of the new lights kinda OP? No. They are actually just able to defend themselves for the first time. People got used to puny defenseless little pockets of xp and dmg that were lights. (with the exception of 13 90) Still don't understand how can you call the new lights OP and not the 13 90 which pretty much craps every single one of the new ones.
Prosqtor 114 Share Posted January 6, 2015 I don't know. Perhaps I have reached semi-competence at last, but the 37, the Bulldog, the RU-251, and (of all things) the Auf Panzer all seem great to me. Of course, "great" to me might be poor to the unicommies here.
MacusFlash 2,270 Share Posted January 6, 2015 Keep Bulldog, check T49 on next public test.

I cant seem to pen meds very well on the side (track spaced armor) and front has too much armor to pen, so rear is the only viable option. I would absolutely love the tank if I didnt have 120 ping, and have my server reticule 2x the size of my client reticule...
