weesh 669 Share Posted March 13, 2015 IB4 rude comments... Tazilon greatly broadened my knowledge of the game. His guides were at the exact skill level needed for me to rapidly improve. I don't think anyone would (logically anyway) argue that Tazilon brings nothing to the table. It's the self appointed "proscout" moniker that most people take issue with. Unfortunately his play style caps out at a certain point which I would say is well below being "excellent" in light tanks. And unfortunately for him changes in the meta will make his play style even less effective. He garnered a lot of dislike from arguing with better players (he has always been anti- WN8/dpg). Which would be fine if he actually demonstrated the ability to win the same amount or more often - unfortunately he has always fallen short.... Link to post Share on other sites

Just because he isn't BEST LIGHT TENK PLAYER US doesn't mean his stuff is not good to initially learn scouting. Learned a lot through his videos and website when I started out and he's probably the reason why I enjoy light tanks. Just make sure you stop watching it as you get good enough. Should you be required to be unicum in order to teach? Should I stop teaching my friends how to play better? Hell, he's never been quick to post games on congested maps. I quit his channel after I stopped being hungry for how a scout works on open maps, and wanted to know what to do on cities. He rebuffed my requests for such replays, and the only himmelsdorf he ever posted was one where the enemy didn't guard tank alley. I'm fine with that. Pompous 301 Share Posted March 13, 2015 Tazilon certainly has his place in the hierarchy of teaching, and it's not far off of the niche that Quickybaby occupies. Certainly useful for the average player looking to break out of average-ness, but at some point, you move on. Tazilon has failed to make an impression on me every single time I've seen him in a game. I certainly have respect for his ability to try to help the average pubbie understand scouting, and find some helpful spots to be less than the suicide scout they might otherwise be. However, beyond that, and his unnatural love of the VK2801, he is hardly the pinnacle of light tank play, and there are countless players here who consistently put up better numbers across a wide range of light tanks, all while knowing and understanding that Belarus is in fact, not in Russia. Lert is a good example, imho, of how tazilon could approach things to have a better reception He has all kinds of guides that help a certain level of player (usually beginning) but doesn't pretend that qualifies him as "pro" anything, he's just trying to be helpful It's not Tazilon's ability that people have a problem with (there are lots of people with worse ability that are treated perfectly respectfully here), it's his interpretation of his own ability that people have a problem with. He is not either, yet he claims to be while deriding better light tank players (he has a history). Like I already said, his material is useful for learning up to a certain point - and that point is pretty limited. He has certain biases to light tank play that are actually harmful to becoming excellent in them. So much so that I would not offer Tazilon as a recommended source for light tank play beyond some basics. Actually, I wouldn't recommend him at all as there are far better light tank players to watch and learn from. Link to post Share on other sites
