Tazilon comes back to World of Tanks

Recommended Posts

top ten scouts in the game???....

Go/....

That's a somewhat nebulous question, so I limited my search to the top winrates in the VK 2801 with players that have at least 200 battles.

I've included Taz's stats for comparison;

edit;

hmm I'm assuming the top 3 are the same person with name changes lol, rip, oh well, there's the top 8 :D

I would love to see how incredibly average he performs in the RU-251 with a 7-skill crew.

Incoming mini rant:

His scouting guides were bad. They taught bad play and the only good thing to come of it was more people trying to learn how to scout. He did (2%? 3%?) better than the AVERAGE player. That's like a 51-52%er claiming they're the king of tanks.

Tazilon had a thread going on the official forums for "top VK2801 XP games." I showed him my 4.8k xp game, and he immediately changed the thread requirements so that I didn't qualify. Just so his scores would stay on top. +1 ego.

He also had the audacity to tell me that he was better than me at LT's. That's cute.

Edit:

I suppose the TL;DR version of my thoughts on Taz are such:

He provided a literal fuckton of misinformation that would lead to bad scout play by otherwise promising (willing to learn) players, all the while fapping it to his own ego.

No idea which crew he's using but...

I'll just throw in my 2 cents.

I couldn't care less if Tazilon is helpful to some players. He does not argue using logic. He has a very strict set of preconceptions, and if anyone argues against them, they are automatically wrong in his eyes. He also uses his former career (which I don't even know if he's telling the truth about) to support his arguments, even though he may be blatantly wrong.

Tazilon is an egotistic asshole with a distinct lack of analytical ability.

To be fair, I think you'll find the top 3 results are probably the same account, renamed and uploaded 3 different times. But the point is proven, regardless.

Ya, I noticed that after posting, but I didn't feel like recompiling a new list, so I just updated my post to mention it's the top 8, not 10 ;)

loved his guides when i was orange. Now I feel i am better than him, but they were a necessary stepping stone.

Fact is, he did put a LOT of effort into his guides! Just like QB's stream is so popular because the polish and professionalism in his approach to streaming, so is Tazilon's scouting popular because his guides are organized, easy to understand and aimed at lower skill players.

Yes, there are much better players out there. Do they put so much effort in teaching others? not really... or at least very few do. Their play is harder to follow, and I personally havent found a very good teacher of lights after outpacing Tazilon. Learned some things from QB, but he is great only in the Bulldog. Following most other streamers felt like watching-3-man-med-platoon-pwn-everything-while-making-insider-jokes. Not a bad stream if you know them, and are in on the jokes or part of their clan, but honestly much harder to learn from.

There is a big difference between a great player and a player great at explaining their game.

And I'll say it again;

If Tazilon were the type of guy that popped in and said "Hey, I really like the VK2801, here's some stuff I've learned while playing it" there would be little to no drama surrounding him.

It's the "Hey, I'm king of light tanks and scout play, anyone who disagrees is wrong" that gets a reaction out of people

This, completely this.

Like, barely anyone here even claims they are the king of something. Pretty much Kewei (Who has numbers to back him up) and Garbad (Who depending on the situation goes from full blown sperg to reasonable but generally still has numbers to back  him up) are the people who ever say that frequently. Tazilon seems to have embedded it in all of his content, and has nothing to back it up other than 42k~ games in a tier 6 light tank at not much above average win rates.

Like, even I who just farmed people in a tier 6 light at 2k~ games has a better win rate. Does that mean I am better than the self proclaimed king of light tanks? 0_o

Hmm fair enough. I guess when I was orange, it didnt really annoy me that he was full of himself, compared with me he was a LOT better.

Still, I dont mind a I-am-teh-greaterestest attitude if the player can explain their game and puts in the effort (maybe thats why i can watch QB). However I can see how that would get on your nerves if you know you are better and they got a lot of attitude.

How many of you want to see me attempt a VK28 challenge and see if I can smash his stats even after the nerfs?

What's the point?  Even most of his supporters know he isn't the best.

So much hate.

I accidently clicked a YT vid with a tank - Tazz and his VK.

He made me start the game...and I rushed to the VK28.01 just to get 44% in it.

But this caused me to ask myself why he can do it and I can't. So I started to read forums, found Wotlabs etc.

Tazz made me trying to get better.

I'm not saying that it went well, but at least I didn't stay a total shitlord.

Thx Tazz.

Echelon for president.

Rlly, you should. I actually learned something from your ELC guide and vision mechanic posts.

Just for tha lolz. =D

Not worth your time. If I can do it as the much worse player. Look at last 90 days:

But: Tazilon did a good job with his site, I learned a lot about light tanks as a beginner.

Some years ago, with the original T5 scouts (chaffee, vk28, t252) spotting without shooting was viable. In T10 matches that was all you could do anyway.

Spotting without shooting was viable.

Spotting WHILE shooting WHILE staying dark was a true sign of skill.

Guess which Taz is.

I don't want to judge it. What I know is that I also like that tank a lot and he has something to do with that.

I am not much into "hating" on other people. Peace out :)

It isn't hate to objectively evaluate someone and find them to be less than their claims. It also isn't hate to (rightly) call someone a hypocrite.

And similarly, your VK28 is also skillcapped at ~55% and ~450 DPG, he definitely had something to do with that.

Your results are basically living proof of how shit his teaching is

Exactly, the ONE article I wrote on the ELC to teach camouflage play was worth more than all of Tazilons guides combined to an aspiring scout player.

Let's even use a baseline comparison of Tazilon's ELC to my ELC,
8% less winrate
641XPG vs my 824
515 DPG to my 910
Most tellingly, he spots 2.66 and has SEVEN scout medals in 328 games, to my 1.92 spotted and ONE scout medal in 815 games, you know what that tells me? It tells me that he's a fucking suiscouter.

Going by his VK stats, 716DPG is absolutely abysmal when you consider that the VK had a long period of being one of the most gamebreakingly OP scouts in the game.

For someone who preaches himself as a light tank expert, not breaking 300XPG is stunning

Not really, I only picked it up recently again, played 160 battles in 60 days.

With over 67% winrate and 2800 WN8.

See the attached image in my post.

That's why I said it makes no sense if you do the challenge, as even I can beat Tazilon's stats in it. And I don't play as good as you do.

My overall stats only reflect how poorly I played in the beginning.
